Quote:I agree.
I do wish KB had another, similar setting (you KB or KD). Probably the best option we have right now is to make Solar Flare KD, and you can slot for the KB if you want. I know that still won't make some happy, but I think it's better than where we sit right now.
Cue Bill's disagreement in 3, 2, 1 . . . -
I was about to rip into Bill for his response to my rant about the KB vs KD for khelds.
Then I read his further responses and realizes that he makes a lot of sense. It is a playstyle choice. However the questions is which playstyle choice should the devs favor. For now it seems they feel that taking out the KB would may PBs overpowered. I disagree.
As to whether IOs should be taken into account? They should be, HOWEVER, Bill's point is still correct. There are IO builds and then there are IO builids.
A build that can solo +4/x8 IS NOT the baseline. Period.
However, at the same time, a pure SO build is not really something I realistically think should be the baseline. There ARE things inbetween a pure SO build and PURPLED to the theeth. -
Again so it's clear the ONLY change I'd agree with is if they made Nova as strong as a blaster, and dwarf as strong as a tank.
Random idea: Put it on a 180 minute timer for both if need be. Have it be something each form can click that boosts their respective damage and defense, gives Nova defiance and gives a taunt aura to dwarf if need be. -
Quote:NO.
Ultimately, this is the time to talk about how to make PB forms work with the PB instead of against: as Flux pointed out Warshade forms are part of a large trinity of power, constant changing being the core of their gameplay. PBs pick a form and stick to it, and are often penalized slightly for changing (loss of powers) or shoved so hard into a role, they've practically lost any reason to bother doing much but one or two things (dwarf). It's very possible that this could easily be balanced without needing to incorporate massive number changes, as this is almost certainly a mechanics problem and little more.
AS a PB player I DO NOT pick a form and stick to it, especially since the dwarf form has a USEFUL form of the footstomp that is completely USELESS in human form. Also I like being able to shift into nova and back to human and to dwarf as needed.
As I already stated form shifting was THE MAIN POINT of me created BOTH a PB and a Warshade. Make that less relevant to the AT, and I might as well roll another scrapper or blaster.
If they want to balance PBs to be as powerful as Warshades then they should do that by giving the appropriate buffs where needed (pulsar, the pets, nova, dwarf, and changing the human footstomp attack into being KD). They should not do it by gutting what makes the AT special.
Human form is NOT what makes the AT special, as there is NOTHING in human form that you can't get in other ATs. -
Quote:Unless they can guarantee it will be a 100% buff to both NOVA and DWARF, I'm against any re-working of the forms to be complementary to human form. If I wanted to play someone who was mostly human . . . I wouldn't be playing EITHER Kheldian.Warshades can keep both their copies of Mire, if need be. Or just have one copy, but buff it.
The form shifting aspect is what attracted me to the AT in the first place. -
Quote:Pretty much this for me minus the enhancements thing, as that's very tempting.Enhancemnet trays: never purchased a respec in game or via store, 0 interest.
Salvage: some use, on the characters that need it I already have 80 slots so maybe 1 additional purchase, but at 10 bucks checking my self respect at the door would be a problem
Vault space: Worthless
Auction house: Very nice, allows me to use fewer characters to do the same amount of marketing. That said I already have a horde of dedicated marketeers and can't spend the inf I have fast enough
Edit: Now extra inf storage, that would be something -
Quote:*looks at Tyrant*There is a profound difference between being The Dragon, never mind a Dragon Ascendant, and being, well, The Starscream. Sauron was a powerful, dangerous character even while serving Melkor. Starscream is a clown.
*looks at the Hamidon*
*looks at Tyrant again*

Quote:I'm not talking about 20 years ago. I mean now.The time of the hami wars was a good twenty years ago, there was no connection between primal and praetorian dimensions. Never mind the fact we don't know if Marauder and the rest even had access to the well. It's very possible that until that moment he was just as afraid of the well as Statesman.
You aren't thinking fourth dimenionally /doc brown -
Quote:It can only control the people who have taken the quick route to its power - it can't control people who take the slow route, or people who have no contact with it at all.
Statesman, Recluse, Tyrant, Reichsman and so on all gained their full powers at once by actually drinking from the Well itself - so the Well has a hold over them because of that.
We searched for the Well with Mender Ramiel, but found it was gone - so we're not able to get our powers all at once the way the others did - we're taking another route, tapping into the Well via the shards and threads of its power that are scattered throughout the multiverse - it's a much longer process than simply taking one drink form the Well itself, but it also means that the Well can't control us.
My point is that if the Hamidon is that much of a threat, why can't the Well take over the ones that have already drunk from it and have them all beat down hami.
It was in response to the idea that Tyrant had to face Hami all by his lonesome. THAT aspect I'm not buying. -
Quote:I think so many people dislike Jack they let it feed into Statesman and his counterparts.
Of course, Cole may know that in the end he can't beat Hamidon. And a draw when all that's left is Hamidon and it's creations and himself is really a lose.
Though, I would think if Cole could fight it to a standstill, why he couldn't get some backup and take it head on as a group. Unless those in Praetoria are the types to know there will be loses, and they don't want to be part of those loses.
Muarder: Sure! I could help you to defeat it, but the chance of me coming out of it alive is small enough that it's not worth the risk. I plan to stay alive as long as possible.
Others in Praetoria: Yeah. We agree.
Cole: *facepalm* Okay we'll go about this a different way.
Which . . . I find silly for a bit. The Well is powerful enough to take over individuals across dimensions and fuel Incarnates that (as GG above claims) can fight the Hamidon to a standstill, yet it's not powerful enough to force others to do Cole's bidding. The same Well that allows Cole to give Nightstar, Maurader and others the Incarnate power to stand up to at least 12 to 16 near Incarnates at once. Ummm, lol?
Something doesn't' add up, or there is waaaaaaaay more to the story. (I pray it's the later). -

Quote:So you never use gravimetric emanation or stygian circle or even dwarf form for survivability?
I'd turn up my difficulty if I was you, that's playing on too low of a setting for what your character can handle
I meant I use eclipse to cap my dwarf form and use The mires as mini nukes. I farm on +4/x8 in the AE.
I don't think mine is a standard warshade, hence the
Kheld talk is SRZ BSNESS yo. -

Keeping it as KB MAKES NO SENSE whatsoever when the DWARF form of PBs has a similar attack that does KNOCK DOWN.
The logic fails epicly on this one devs. -

Quote:Glad to hear it. May he have a speedy recovery!I wanted to give you guys an update, especially since it's a good one...it looks like the transplant has taken and @Kinetic Jaunt is making blood cells on his own again. If things stay on course over the weekend he will be able to return home next week sometime! He still has another 2-3 months of being stuck indoors (He has been in the hospital since June 13th) while he recovers, but things are looking up and hopefully you will be seeing us both back in game again.
I also would really like to thank all the people who have written me or sent me tells. I truly appreciate the support.

A tab for farms might be a good idea. The devs could silently add it, if they want to avoid openly commenting that they now OFFICIALLY approve of farms.

Quote:The geek is strrrrrrroooong in this one.I come bearing tidings of good news:
For the purposes of the VIP Beta (and the VIP Beta only, so no, you can't keep them when we go live), we will be seeding all currently active accounts with 10,000 Paragon Points, so you can spend to your hearts desire in the Paragon Market.
This will be live when Beta comes up tonight (fingers crossed, knock on wood, spin around in a circle and spit over your left shoulder).
Honestly the best things about Zwil's posts are seeing what new pic he's going to use.
Also thanks for the testing points! -
These are so good I'd wear them as armor on my characters.
Improved by 1000%. Well played devs well played. -
Quote:We used to BARELY get 3-4 new powersets a year. From the ramp up it seems we will be getting a lot more than that. I'll happily pay if it means we end up getting 10-12 (or more) powersets that we most assuredly would NOT be getting if it weren't for COH FREEDOM.
Personally I think it's bizarre that there seems to be a community of people thrilled to pay additional money for something that used to just come with the subscription.
And correct me if I'm wrong by the last few powersets we did get were locked behind a PAID EXPANSION: GR.
Soooo, no not everything used to just come with the subscription.
