  1. After they get the old content (especially in COH) and endgame content to where it needs to be, sure. THAT needs to be done before making things more pretty.

Yes, I get that it's more than that, but this is a basically a suggestion for them spending more time on the way the game looks . . . which I say we've had enough of in the past year. What this game needs "RIGHT NOA" is FRESH content.

Once that's done have at it with further customization.

If there were anything in the PVP zones that was required (no, badges are not, no, shivans, nukes and heavies are not) for the PVE game, I might feel differently. But they are not. End result: If (generic) you don't want to PVP, you never have to come across it, ever. And that's perfectly fine. No reason to be able to set yourself to "don't touch!" And no reason to (and plenty of reasons against being able to) spread PVP into the PVE world.
Pretty much agree. I think it's also one of the reasons many are against a "duel" flag.
  3. /unsigned!

Just as I would unsign turning the pve world into open pvp, I would unsign turning turning pvp zones into badge zones.
  4. /signed!

A certain other playground seems to be coming out with the ability to have powers be affected in by other powers in this way.

    I like it.
  5. Keep in mind that there is another panel at NYCC on the 9th of Oct.

I would expect more info to arrive then.

Second, it comes down to this:

Do you want the devs to develop and implement challenging end game content?

If no, then this doesn't apply to you.

If yes, then do you propose that all future end game content is balanced around the assumption that everyone has Shivans etc? Because that is what it will come to. I recognise these have worked for years now and that is a mistake of the devs, but I would suggest draw a line under that. Of course it is also the responsibility of the devs to make challenging fights and not just huge sacks of health with lots of regen.

P.S I'm not making accusations of people, it is perfectly legit to use these temp powers because that is how they are/were designed, but the design is wrong. That was my point.
I don't consider the CoP to be endgame content. At all. Not with weak temp powers and a measly 10 merits (I somehow thought they had increased it to 20 since just about every tester in beta recommended this.)

If in I19 they add something to it that permanently advances your character in some way, THEN I will agree that it can be categorized as endgame content, THEN I will agree that it's fine to ban temps from it. Now? NO.
  7. Sure why not. Make em 100. Most arcs are lucky to get that many votes now a days thanks to all the devs haphazard whiplash inducing changes.

As is the invention system, as is the e-mail system.

If you want extra security for your trades, you may need to consider extra measures to ensure that security.

But again I don't really have anything against the idea, it may not be implemented because email isn't supposed to bypass the market. Don't forget that the market also serves an an inf sink, so ways to bypass that sink may go against the dev wishes and would be unlikely to get implemented.
I can almost guarantee that there would be a fee for BOTH parties (or at the very least the seller) IF they devs ever implemented this. Mostly for the reasons you just stated.

    3) (And I pressed the submit button too soon!) A revamp of Paragon City to make it a lot more pretty. Going Rogue has now entirely spoiled us and we've seen what the game is possible of showing us. Paragon City could have a lot better looking and more unique buildings, and the streets could look a lot better than how they appear. The Rogue Isles aren't as bad, but they could probably do with some improvements themselves. Personally, I've always kind of hoped we'd get some iconic buildings for El Super Mexicano, City of Gyros, and Up and Away Burger! Much like that doughnut shop in Faultline!
Like the first two, however, I'd prefer if they revamped the story arcs in Paragon FIRST. Especially for zones that essentially don't have any.

    SPOILERS!

The Wardens intervene against the Crusaders and Cops, trying to police their own faction, but their motive sucks. They're doing it -just- so they don't lose public opinion. Sure, there are some who think the Crusaders are doing the wrong thing, but they maintain the alliance and cover stuff up. They're also incredibly short sighted, in that they're willing to get a lot of people tortured, killed, or maimed in order to spread knowledge that will cause even -more- pain torture and death before anything gets better. Blowing up the single potable water supply so that Vanguard can be heroic when they come six months later? It smacks of the Power Arc!

In the Power Arc you manipulate the populace and media to aggrandize yourself. In one arc you need to get into a laboratory, so you try to convince the Resistance to attack it so you can go in after them, arrest them, get the data you need, and come out looking like a hero. The Wardens are -almost- doing the same thing on Vanguard's behalf. Meanwhile the Power arc isn't so horrible as people like to let on (at least through Imperial City). Sure you're self-serving, but it's more "Booster Gold" than "Doctor Doom"

The Responsible arc is, officially, the most Heroic arc I've done. You're given bad circumstances and you have to fight against the people whom you know are, at least in part, right. Why do you have to fight against them? For the good of the common man. Because they intend to get -everyone- killed in their petty plots for revenge. By the end of the Responsible Loyalist arc you exile yourself to Paragon or the Etoille in order to take down Cole and his Oligarchs. The right way, with the support and power of others, rather than bombing hospitals or starting city-wide riots. Take out Cole, Take out the Praetors, THEN rebuild. Don't randomly blow stuff up and get a ton of people killed in the process.

The Crusaders... I couldn't finish the Nova Praetoria arcs. They were just -too- vile. Gassing people, reprogramming robots into death machines to loose on the populace... It's wanton Destruction, not revolution.

    Thumbs up!

My theroy for I20? Absolute disapointment yet again. So far they have a great track record of disapointing issues for the past two years and with GR being a big joke to me along with the Party Pack.

Seriously though? I HOPE it isn't CoX 2 because what the hell was the point of making us pay for an expansion for a game that was about to go to the way side?

What I DO hope it is is some more content, an issues that feels like it actually has substance and some costumes we DON'T have to pay for.

Maybe, just MAYBE it is a revisiting of PvP with a giant banner that says, "Sorry about I13." But you know that is a REALLY crazy theroy.
A roll back o I12 would be great, but wouldn't really do anything for pvp participation.

As this thread shows even less people care about pvp than I originally thought.

Oh and at least one pvper in this thread has some very entertaining (iand completely blatantly drunk stupid) conspiracy theories.

If they could leverage a system towards the base architect too, including setting up NPCs (either as in-base vendors or flavor characters, or for setting up "NPC Base Raids"), it would make such a system more important.
    Definitely would help the MA.

The signed NDA likely includes outlines of penalties including banning for divulging such mechanics in chat or to guide and wiki sites even AFTER the release of i20.
    Which would be stupendously dumb.

An hour after I20 launched those solutions would be figured out and in the wiki in the next day . . . by folks who were NEVER IN BETA.

(100 base range, toss in some Centrioles and you can shoot from over 150ft. nearly double the average range.) Combined with travel suppression, it can be nasty.

Slow powers do next to nothing, while -fly will ground a flier.
THIS times infinity. Slows used to be a tactical weapon for many ATs that had them. Now? LOLSLOWS.

DR for Incarnate missions is a possibility, but... not sure how that would work. being an Incarnate makes you weaker than not being one?
I'm assuming at most 3 for I20. I think I19 will come after I20 and won't be as closed, based on the reports from PAX. Which is why it seems to me it's something other than just incarnates that required a signed beta. Unless the alpha slot is completely different in new and completely random ways (which I doubt).

For DR for Incarnates I think as you get the buffs and slot them it makes other things about your character weaker. If you run the Incarnate content without Incarnate abilities on (in GR closed beta it was possible to have the Alpha slot activated but NOT having ANYTHING in it) you get no DR. (which should in theory make the incarnate content harder to do).

Honesatly, I don't see it being any of the other things mentioned. Changes to PvP wouldn't be a big deal. I see no reason for DR in PvE due to incarnate abilities, since the Incarnate stuff only works at level 50 and they already have the level shift mechanic to add a form of DR for that.
Its probably 5 ish levels of Incarnate stuff and all the new content, enemies and possibly zone(s) to go along with that.

    Plus some other cool stuff.
I19 already has the tf and first slot of the Incarnate system. Seeing as how Posi already said they are releasing them over time I don't see them putting 9 slots into issue 20.

I can see them putting in DR JUST FOR Incarnate missions.

Anyone been on test yet? I would expect that this got silently fixed in the same patch that they take out warbug nukes from being used (which I find hilarious since warburg nukes can be used to speed just about every other TF and trail in the game . . . but hey somehow they are overpowering in this trial which only gives 20 merits as compared to Sister Psyche which gives what, 50? Just saying).

Cause fixing a major bug in the trail at the same time as you remove an option from player to use in the trail would only be fair and logical. Amirite?

They made no changes to the product to make it more attractive, and didn't switch back to the old model which proved to be more popular. Overwhelming feedback for either case goes unheeded; if I had an answer I'd provide it.

I was not attempting to condone their actions, merely trying to provide some insight.

Yea the playground is nice, and you might like it enough to stay and endure the bullying. But it seems every month more kids think about leaving the playground and going to the one across town; they get to have fun and don't have to deal with bullies. I hear in 2 months a nice shiny new playground is being built a few blocks away and these bullies can't go there.
    Fair enough.

On that last part actually as pver they're not enduring any bullying cause they don't care to have the candy (ie couldn't care less about pvp and never will)

And yeah there is a new shiny playground being built, except that the TEACHER (SOE) doesn't have a very good track record. In fact they have a track record of raising the playground with fire and then re-building a new one while ignoring all feedback. TWICE (SWG's CU and NGE debacles which made ED and I13 look like child's play).

Just warning you ahead of time.

EDIT: Even with that said I'm going to give that playground (god this no talking about other games rule can be annoying) a try. It might become my second errr, playground. Why? Cause I like DC. After enduring some of the most legendary revamps (purple patch, ED, CU, NGE, etc, etc) there's nothing any developer can do that can shock me, so I'm good. I also won't be pvping over there, as I've come to distinct realization that there will never be a well balanced pvp mmo system.

As an aside a recent other playground (A strange Potentially large Bullying ground one ) recently shut down. Two problems that lead to it: hackers and the impossibility to balance their pvp. As i said: I've come to distinct realization that there will never be a well balanced pvp mmo system. Hell the largest playground currently has had class and ability revisions EVERY patch since it's existence and they still haven't gotten their pvp (or pve for that matter) balance right.

If I want competitive play I'll stick to my old FPS playgrounds.

Errrrm, it still mostly is. This didn't change much at all, in fact teleport got gutted. (in I12 there used to be plenty of Assassin Strike, followup attack to get kill, then tp away to safety stalkers [and other classes], you don't see that anymore due to how travel suppression makes tp very difficult to use.) Fly is slightly better but still FAILS if someone hits you with an immob.

sooooo, I13 DID NOT CHANGE "PvP being a club for only Super Jump or Super Speed".

so yeah if that's the only hold up, they're good to go for the rollback.

EDIT: And just in case you don't believe me step into RV one night and observe how many players have sj/ss versus how many have flight and lolteleport. I already know the answer but humor me.

VoodooGirl, if the current patch on test goes live, you'll need to edit this out:

    B. Go to Warburg, get one of each rocket (Chemical, Biological, Nuclear).

I would also recommend removing any strategy that mentions it.
It will no longer be an option.Just a heads up.that said with all the complaints there's a chance that that part of the patch won't go through.
  25. I like Chase's ideas.

My crazy Issue 20 theory: A roll back of some or most of I13 pvp, planting the seeds for pvp missions in the future, and some form of DR being turned on WHEN AND ONLY WHEN you activate your incarnate abilities. Turn them off (the on/off trigger would be be on a cool-down after you used it in either direction) then the DR goes off.

And finally a new type of respec system which allows you to remove and replace one power or one slot if you choose.
