  1. Well, you know, posting a note on the forums requires trekking five miles through the Malaria Jungle, climbing hand over hand one thousand feet up the Cliffs of Scratchy Fiberglass Insulation, and then sacrificing your kitten to the Gods Of Forum Software.

Its not like it just takes a few mouse clicks and a few minutes typing to post a forum note. You have to recognize the sacrifice involved. You have to realize they issued a patch last Thursday. Just expect maintenance every morning for the next two weeks.

    Save the kittens!
  2. Your invention salvage capacity, recipe capacity and vault storage will all be reduced - roughly cut in half. If you buy a WW license, your transactions allowed will also be roughly cut in half.

You won't lose anything you are carrying, but you can't pick up anything new until you are below the new limit.
  3. HI,

You can see the build I suggested below and see the comments for Choking cloud.

I have read on these boards (but do not know the exact post) that Achille Proc Chance for -Res will NOT stack on itself. The proc gives the opponent a power that casts the debuff on himself/herself and a toon can only ever have one power. So you could give up many of the Achille procs, maybe keep the one in Electron Volley.

Lingering Radiation and Radiation INfection are pretty heavily slotted. YOu could get by with four slotting RI with Dark Watchers Despair. Shift the slots to Neutrino bolt. Add another Decimation (6.25% Recharge) and put an Achille Proc Chance for -Res.

Irradiate is a pretty expensive powers and Obliteration set gives hardly any end rdx. If you drop the Achille proc you can put in EndRdx. You can also shift a slot out of Hasten to X-Ray Beam and get the 6.25% Recharge, plus add more bonuses to X-Ray Beam.

I dropped Atomic Blast to five slots and put one in Charged Armor. Charged Armor I frankenslotted for Resist/Endurance - none of the 2 slot bonuses looked really worth it.

You don't have Cosmic Burst. I really like CB on my Rad/Traps. You might want to rearrange to get it. I'm not familiar with using Stealth+ Invisibility. You can get a low level invis with putting Celerity+Stealth in Sprint. You could drop Fly and take Super speed and put the +stealth in there and I'm pretty sure thats about the same as Invisibility - but you run a lot faster.
Hmmm, I cannot seem to get enough slots for CB, so I took Combat Jumping instead. I suppose you could reduce LR to one slot, shift them into CB.

THe build (below) isn't perfect but I would lean more towards it than what you have.

Local_Man Illusion/Radiation Emissions guide for controllers has lots of good info on the /Rad set.

  4. Thanks for the replies.

    I have a Rad/Sonic Defender so might try Sonic/Cold or Sonic/Kin.

May also try Dark/Cold or Dark/Pain - but Dark Blast seemed to have low damage on my dark/dark defender so have to think about this.

Has Life Drain been buffed for Corruptors?

    Oh, thats work, gotta go.
  5. Here is a suggestion. I have not played a Rad/Rad corr, though I do I have a Rad Blast toon (23), an ill/rad troller (50), and a Rad/Sonic Defender(31).

Neutrino bolt is frankenslotted with two Acc/dam and three procs, including the Achille Chance for -resistance.

You had Basilisk Gaze + Lockdown proc in choking cloud, going for the extra 7.5% recharge bonus. An alternate slotting is to frankenslot for Endurance/hold + Lockdown proc. Local_man has numbers in his ill/rad guide to show the advantage of stacking your hold. Another option is the purple Unbreakable constraint five slotted + lockdown. Your call.

Irradiate has Obliteration 5 slotted, which brings you little End Reduction, so I added a slot with an EndRdx.

Fly is two slotted - you could save a slot by giving up the regen bonus. Move the slot to EM Pulse perhaps. A celerity+stealth in sprint will give you stealth, but I don't know if you'll still be stealthed if you fly or use a jet pack.

My Rad blast is only level 23, so don't know if you need three slots in health and 4 in endurance.

You have a high endurance usage, but on a fast moving team you won't run RI all the time - the critters will die before you cast it.

You went for max recharge and have practically no defenses or resists. An ill/rad troller doesn't need high defense, but I don't have know about a rad/rad corr. You need to be close in for irradiate so lack of defense/resist maybe an issue.

You might want to work in Dark Embrace somehow. If you drop Hover/Fly and take Super speed, that would free a slot for dark embrace.

Hasten lost a slot, and is 6 sec below perma. Two slotted Miracle in Health for the Recovery bonus. Cosmic burst is five slotted with Decimation for the +Recharge.

Thanks for the reply and the build. 12 HO's means 12 hami raids? Seems somewhat problematical since I haven't been on a single hami raid, and almost never see anyone in chat starting one. But I can work around that.

Is the spring attack another attack added for mitigation (knockdown) and AOE damage?

The knockback protection on acrobatics is somewhat low. Is it a case of better some than none at all, since I can't get even one anti KB IO?

I am VIP currently, but will be F2P in January. I don't have the paragon points saved to run an IO license for more than a couple of months. Incarnate abilities are out of the questions of course.

If your not free to play and looking to learn about the game mechanics then I would suggest reading up on the links in my sig and of course going over to players help section to read up on some other stuff their. EG how mids works to some degree.
I think I know the game mechanics fairly well, but I do not know the powersets well. Hence my question about powersets.

Then create a build and post it up for people to inspect and give you advice. But yet again if you don't know at least what the right advice might be you can end up listening to someone who knows less then you but just makes a convincing argument or is a good writer on these forums.
It seemed sort of premature to start talking builds since so far my only concept is trying out a new-to-me set combination that runs well on SOs and no Incarnates. I guess I'll take my chances on the advice I get.

Traps is a very good set even with SO because they are all fire and forget. With an SO build you probably can get some decent numbers with defenses and use a purple inspiration to get you the extra defense you might need. So I don't know what the issues are there.
Maybe its the low damage of Radiation, or I've been on fast moving teams that minimize my Traps contribution or I need to level the toon to 35 or so to really evaluate him.

Since you asked for build, here's a build for fire/storm. The endurance usage seems awfully high compared to the end recovery. I did not take tornado because of the knockback, nor thunderclap because the mag of the stun is pretty low.

  8. I was thinking of starting a new corruptor, perhaps Elec/dark, to try a blast set new to me. But the negative comments on Electric warned me off.

I already have a fire/dark, so considered fire/storm - but they are huge endurance hogs, and wondered how they'd do on SOs alone, just in case.

Pretty no one says take this combo for IOs and Incarnates but this other powerset combo works better with just SOs. So I figured I'd ask.

    ice/dark?
    ice/kin?
    fire/cold?

    I have a Rad/traps and don't much like him, but he's only level 22.
  9. I have a VIP account that went premium a couple of months ago. Your salvage and vault capacity, wentworth transactions, and recipes capacities will be greatly reduced when you go to premium.

I kept track of some numbers up to lvl 18:

Well, I can't seem to make a nicely formatted table.

    Roughly,
Salvage capacity is capped at 17 at level 6. I think it starts to go up slowly after level 35.
Vault storage is also capped at a max of 17 at level 6.
Wentworh transactions slowly go up to 6 at level 18.
Recipes carried start at 3 at level 6 and slowly go up to maximum of 7 at level 18.

I got used to the lower capacities and stopped keeping track after 18. And I wasn't sure how I could ever tell anybody either.

My 40 corruptor still has only 7 recipe slots, so it doesn't go up much. The 49 scrapper has 8 recipe slots.

You can get extra salvage slots from badges. Scrounger badge (+2 for selling 50 salvage) works. The badges from making level 25-30 enhancements all grant +2 salvage. Vault storage never raises above 17 that I have seen.

Haven't tried for the 45-50 enhancement badges but I would guess they work. I'm trying to reach the 250 salvage sold badge on WW but haven't yet.

I don't know if the vanguard storage sack works- not sure a premium player can get vanguard merits.

Of course u need an IO license to craft enhancements and WW license to use WW.

After downgrading to premium, if you have more than you can carry, then you still keep it, but that character can't pick up anything new. Which means be careful what you drop because until the toon gets under their max capacity, you can't pick anything up again.

This was an enormous surprise to me after downgrading. Hope it helps.

Oh yes, although VIPs have access to controller and mastermind, they are not considered to have "bought" them, so you'll lose access to those archetypes. You'll have to decide if you want to spend the paragon points to unlock them. Pretty sure the same applies to Time Manipulation.
