  1. When i was able to solo /x8 first time the whole game changed for me. After that feeling i used IO-Builds for the first time to be able to do more and switched to +2/x8...wow what a strong Feeling and what a levelling speed, compared to before when i LVLed at 1/x2. The Char was a SD/Fire tank, before the SC-changes. He rushed from lvl 32 (the time i switched to IO-Sets) to 50 in 3 Days. Since that experience i'm on the search for other Combos which can do that and lost interest on ATs, and Powersets which can't level at /x8...why? Cause i'm hungry for that Ubar-Superhero-Feeling....Power? Yes, it's pure fun.

  3. Simple Question to the Storm-users. How do Damageprocs work in Freezing Rain. Is there a roll for every single NPC like in damage-auras or one roll and if it shoots it affect all baddies? Is there only a chance of firing once when i cast FR or is it possible that the Proc shoots more than once, all 10secs like in some other Powers? What is with NPCs that run into FR? Never slotted a "Rain" Power with Procs, so excuse this Noob-Question.

One day in the future i will start a Elec/Psi Domi, think this Combo will be more compatible.

    Created a Plant/Storm called 'Force of Nature'. For the Dark/Storm i went with a Defender, as by wonder i named him 'Darkstorm'. I think with the higher Buffs/Debuffs he will be a bit more survivable than the Corrupter-Version and damagewise he should not fall that far behind with the 35% Res-Debuff especially when i get higher recharge later on and can doublestack Freezing Rain.

    Ok, as i thought Ice would look cool, bot does not has the damage i need to solo really well. So it seems Plant/Storm is the combo that suits my playstyle more.

    What's about my second question... Dark/Storm Defender or Corruptor? Defender has a bit stronger and longerlasting Debuffs/Controls + higher Defboni, but is the soloing speed still much slower than a Corruptors or is it comparable since the changes?

    Thx for all the suggestions. I have 2 free Charslots. I think i will use both of them to test 2 different combos. 1 Slot will be used for a Dark/Storm Corruptor or Defender ... i'm not sure what the better AT for this combination is. Maybe someone has some experiences with that.

    Bots/Storm might be a nice Combo, but one Bot-MM is enough for me. So the second will be a /Storm Troller. ATM i can't decide what Powerset i'll take.

    Maybe Ice....think this would be a very survivable Combo, a lot of tools for avoiding nearly all Melee-Attacks and a lot -Recharge, but from what i see it will take hours to take the Enemies down, cause i have to rely on low damage Powers like Freezing Rain. Am i right?

    Plant...mmmmh. +Regen through Spirit Tree to compensate the lack of a selfheal. A mass confuse power at lvl 8 to help at lower levels. Carrion Creepers at lvl26. How is this combination damagewise? Can i stand back, let the Carrion Creepers do their work with the support of Freezing Rain and Lightning Storm? Are they able to keep Aggro?

    Dark is a nice idea, i like the looks and sounds of the Powers. I only avoided it up to now due to the many cones. I preferred Powersets with PBAOEs on my other toons. But for a ranged Char the cones should fit well.

    Hi, Folks.
    I want to start a new toon and need some help. My other High LVL toons are jump-ins (SD/Fire Tank, Fire/Rad Troller, Fire/SS Brute, SD/Elec Scrapper...), so i want to try something different. I like the idea of a ranged Char and decided to go with Storm. But i'm not sure what AT and Powersets to take. As you can see i like to fight large spawns. At ~lvl30 the toon has to be capable of handling x8 Spawns, without extreme investions for IO-Sets . Doesn't matter if it is -1/8 or +2/8. And i have to solo 90% of the time. What i dislike is dying a lot, so killing slowly and safe is better for me than a fast killing squishy Char. I preferr them over pure damagedealing. First question is which AT. Mastermind? Tried them many times and deleted all of them btw lvl15 and 30, except my Bots/Traps. Corruptor/Defender or Controller? And which Set?

    Anyone has some ideas, opinions or experiences what best to pair with storm?
  11. Thx, for the advice @Local Man. Some good points there. With Unbreakable Constraint or frankenslotting i would be able to get the Hold in Choking Cloud up to 15sec (14,6sec atm) and with the other Tips i can free some Slots. But the Problem then is the Recharge. OK, Permahasten isn't a Problem, i can move one of the free Slots into Hasten, but i'm not able to get Indominate Will perma without the 3 Sets(Basi in CC, Tempered in LR and Dampened Spirits in RI and additional ialready lost one LOTG+Recharge in Personal Force Field). Would be nice if you have a soulution for this Problem, but i don't want to spend much more Inf on the Build. Personal Goal was a Permhasten, Perma-AM Build without Purples.

  13. Do you want much AOE-Damage with many control-options or as much AOE-controlpowers as possible?

    If you want the first then i would say Fire/Kin is your only option. But you can roll a Dominator instead to get some additional AOE-Attacks in your Secondary instead of the Controller Buffs/Debuffs. Plant/Thorns for example.

    QR: 30% Recoverybonus

    Quick Recovery gives the higher Bonus. Using more than 3 Slots in one of the Powers only makes sense if you aim for IO-Setboni or if you plan to use an additional Performance Shifter "Chance for Endurance" in it.
  15. I have to agree to Stone Melee/WP. Was one of the Toons i had the most fun with.
  16. First you missed that i have Assault and Tactics already on the Build then you overlooked that there is no Fitnesspool in it...maybe you should take time to inspect the Build more carefully before you answer...

    P.S.
    I have no Stamina in my current Build and it works for me(some Blues, DP, Domination and Recovery Serum is enough End in 99% of the time i play). And yes, i try to keep the downtime of DP so small as possible.

    The other Point: I don't want to loose Permahasten and S/L Softcap, but +Damage is always good. So i changed the Set in Fire Cages and put 2 Damage-IOs in Char, had to change the Set in Flashfire to keep the Recharge up. But i don't really know if it is worth it. Fire Cages is so small Damage and Char has less Damage than Subdue, so i think it would make more sense to place the Damageset in Subdue:

  18. Hi, started some Days ago my new Fire/Psi Toon. It's much fun and i love him. Think that he will hit lvl32 today and i want to start using IO-Sets now. So it's time to present my Build and let you take a look at it. It's a multipurpose-build for soloing and teaming(solo 70% of the time).

    I use no Purples or Hamis. I'm not really satisfied with the Enfeebled OPs in Subdue and the Kinetic Combats, so I worked out 2 Variations of the Build. The first has a bit less Recharge , but more free Slots to move and Subdue slotted with a Damageset. The second has a higher Recharge and uses no Kinetic Combats but i have to use 2 full Oblitsets and can't slot Hot feet for Endreduction. I can't decide which build would be better. Plz take a look and let me now if you can see any things that i can change and which of the Builds would be the more viable. Do you see any Powers that are underslotted? Where should i put the free Slot...into Char for higher Recharge, into the Imps? Is drained Psyche slotted correctly or are there better IOs?

  19. Dark/Stone Tank: Opressive Gloom+Fault=tanktrolling at its best
    Ice/Psi Domi: So much Recharge-Debuffs that the MOBs are Brainfreezed , for Example 2 Cones: Shiver -65%, Psychic Scream -50% , 2 PBAOEs: Arctic Air -50% Recharge, Psychic Shockwave -50% Recharge and nearly all of the other Attacks add some -Recharge too.

    One Question, how would an Ice/Psy Domi perform in relation to an Ice/Rad Controller?
  21. Thx for all the suggestions. Most of them seem to be really nice and the decision was not easy, so i decided to start 3 new Chars. No /Dark or /Storm cause i have these Sets on 2 of my MMs. Please don't misunderstand me, i think these Sets are really nice and perform well but i want to try Sets which are as new as possible for me. No Kin->sy, too buff-heavy.

    Well, allow me to introduce my new Toons to you:

    First one is a Warshade, thx to Dechs and his excellent Guides. Lvled him to lvl12 this night. 10 Minutes after his birth he had his first experience with a Void who 2shot him:lol: ATM he feels similar to a Blaster but i like his Transformation and think he will be great fun in the future. His name is........Dark Cataclysm:


    The second Char is a Fire/Psi-Dominator lvl10 by now. From the Chardesign he is the opposite to my new Warshade. I run out of end with him in 10 secs atm, hope it get better once i reach lvl20 and get the Endtools. But using the Controls on large groups is pure fun. Say Hello to Blaze - Fiery Angel:



    And the third one?


    It will be a /Rad Controller. I'm still not sure about the Primary. I don't wanna run Fire control twice. Plant has nice Powers but i don't like the look. So it will be a Stone/Rad or Ice/Rad. I'm not sure which of them suits my needs best. Maybe some1 who has experience with both Sets can help me.

  24. Thx for the replies. After 2h reading in the AT-Forums, playing with Mids a bit and watching some Vids i think Dominator or Controller is the Way to go for me. On my Tanks i already have Char/Fire Blast/Fire Ball and Ice Blast/Shiver/Ice Strom, so I tend more to these ATs, cause the Mass-Controll is something complete new to me. I'm still not sure about the Sets. I think Rad would be interesting. No Buffs, many Debuffs, possibilty for Permahasten and Perma AM, but the Endurance seems to be a Problem with all these Toggles and i don't know how it performs damagewise. Elec as Primary would help with the End but as i see it has not much Damage, Fire would have much more Damage but seems to increase the Endproblems and i heard that the Imps are not very survivable. Stone looks nice and the Pet seems more to be a little Tanker......or a ?/Psi Dominator......mmmm.....

    In my Eyes Stone feels much smashier than SS. I talk not about the Damage, Endurance etc. only about the Feeling i had when playing both.
