  1. Ah, thanks for letting me know. Dunno what happened there.

I've taken your advice, and while the boost to my HP is good, still looking at some endurance problems. I kept the six slots of Mako's Bite to have a consistency in my defences. a 30% accross the board seems pretty good, and if I stack it with Diamagnetic, I can potentially boost it further.

With Focussed accuracy, I could take Cardiac Core, which improves it a little, though, with Perma-consume, the recovery shouldn't be too bad

Here's the amended version, hopefully it will all work.

Edit: well, the link's still broken. Here's a data chunk instead, hopefully that works
  2. The ATOs include a form empowerment, yeah. Humans get a boost to Resistance, Novas get a damage boost and Dwarves get a health boost. The set bonuses found in them include a nice 8% recharge boost as well as damage and resistance boosts as well.

What I will as though is what role are you hoping to fill when it comes to fighting?

As a suggestion, I can let you have a look at the build I use for my pure human Peacebringer. While still incomplete (it unfortunately uses a purple set, which I have yet to fill) it's capable of stalemating with any Arch-villain, soloing a select few like Requiem and Adamastor (this, however, does take a while) but has a specific weakness against endurance draining enemies like Scirocco, Recluse, Mu'Drakhan and Protean.

    ... god I hate supression.

Here's what my build looks like when finished. I have enhancement boosters in Hasten, and use Agility as an Alpha (if there was an endurance reduction and recharge enhancing one, I would have taken that, but this is the next best thing)

take a gander at that and see what you think. It's been designed as a Tank, hence the taunt. It has Challenge right now, but I plan on respecing at some point to change it for Provoke.
  3. Alrighty.

I've been working on an alternate build for my main. His current level 50 build is a Peacebringer which functions like a wall, and makes up a pretty decent tank (yay for perma lightform and all).

To counter this, I have been working on a Scrapper version to increase his DPS, as well as mannage at least some survivability.

What I have right now does well on the DPS front. Kinetic Melee is an incredebly potent set when Accuracy is no longer an issue, and the DPS boosting attributes of Fire Aura seemed like a natural addition.

What I need advice on is the endurance side of it. I like where my defence is, my resistances are to be expected, but I'm not sure I'm a fan of spending 2 endurance a second.

here's the build, any advice would be appreciated:

  4. And now I understand. Thank you! Now, I must go back to mids, and silently cry over the work that seems to have gone to waste. :P
  5. Hm, I see.

I was just wondering why it is. I've been working on a perma lightform build in mids, and from what I can see, thus far, the science works in PvE. it's almost complete, having achieved the majority of expected effects, and it looks ready to go when finished. However, Mids also states that recharge time is untouched in PvP. I assumed for a program that's been working for a very long time, along side one of the oldest MMOs out there, it would have been able to identify this if such a debuff was intended and present.
  6. I'm sure this question's been asked before, but I just have to know, since it's really driving me nuts here.

In pvp, what are the exact buffs and debuffs that are applied to the character?

I know there's a boost to damage and damage resistance, but I've never read anything about a random debuff to defence and recharge time that seems to keep cropping up. I ask because I've recently been working on a build that has a big focus on recharge time. At its current state, I can achieve (just) perma hasten, and have had perma essence boost and inner light working rather well.

However, when I step into the arena, or into a pvp zone, those bonuses disappear, and by a terrifyingly large margin. At first, I thought it was due to incarnate powers, the alpha slot simply working to either debuff your stats or just turns itself off, but I've had a sudden decline in my defence as well, and that was when I was using Cardiac, which does nothing to your defence.

A friend of mine even says he has better defence and accuracy without Nerve, which is what put me in that mind set. However, recently playing around with Agility, I found that it still provides a buff of some description, even if it is small.

It's not so much me complaining, as it is wondering if it was there for a reason. if it is, I can adapt and make a new build, no harm done.

If anyone can shed some light on this, I would be happy.

    Who Will Die?

Hm, my evidence as to Sister Psyche kicking the bucket has gone down the drain somewhat with the e-mail that just went around about Issue 21, including a Psyche and Manticore embracing

So, as most people pointed out BAB is probably the most logical of the group to perish, but it's also because of that that I believe it's the least likely. I mean, think about it. He's the most logical choice, so the most expected. For it to be a plot twist, it'd have to be someone we won't expect at all.

Also, side note, in response to Dark Respite's post, anyone else see the 'I22'?
  8. I'm all for the original suggestion, but mainly because, story wise, it would make sense

By the time you get it, you have just learnt to tap into a rare reserve of power that could turn the tide of battle, but at a cost. These table changing moves would be seen as a last resort.

But as you level up, you gain more control, it becomes easier, simpler to do, especially since, when you get judgement, you have something with almost the same amount of power, but for the same endurance cost as one of your hard hitting, non-nuke attacks.

so, yeah, consider this suggestion /signed

    Who Will Die?

If I may throw in my two cents?

The idea behind killing off a character, using the posters shown above and asking the question 'who is going to DIE?' will, more than likely, result in no one dying, or dying, but not being dead for long (Then again, comparatively, City of Heroes lore is quite well known for not allowing Necron to leave the door to the afterlife open a bit)

however, if I were to choose, I would have to say three candidates come to mind

    First, would be Sister Psyche.

My evidence to support this would be the poster Stone Daemon posted a while back:

    Quote:

Thing is though, if you look at Citadel's shouler, you can see some clipping. It looks as though Manticore was in the image, but taken out, which means the only member of the surviving 8 not present, is Sister Psyche. Let's also remember, that due to the images shown of the comic book cutscenes for the new Primal Earth co-op tutorial, Sister Psyche is present for the Shivan Invasion of Galaxy City.

    Evidence to the contrary?

Because of the wedding and with her and Manticore being the staple couple of the game's universe, the writers may find issue with killing her off, not to mention the fact that it would risk likening her demise with the infamous Spiderman makes a deal with the devil thing.

    on a side note:

Manticore, if this happens, and you do make a deal with the Cit of Heroes devil, I swear to almighty god, I will kick you in the face with a hammer.

    I'm watching you *glares*

My second suggestion? Back Alley Brawler

The reason why I say this is because compared to other members of the Phalanx, the old BAB has rarely seen character development. Hell, he's even in semi-retirement. Wouldn't it fit that he would come out of retirement to perform one last heroic act in the hopes of saving the neighbourhood he called his own for so long? With little development compared to the other seven, I'd say that, really, it's possible the writers simply don't want/need him around any more.

    evidence to the contrary?

Besides the above image, I feel that the destruction of Galaxy City would be enough to inspire some plot development and character hooks for the man. He lost his turf because of radioactive skeleton jelly, who wouldn't be mad?

My third and final suggestion would be Synapse.

    Why?

Simple. Throughout the comics and from in game lore, Synapse was the classic speedster archetype of personality. He was a fun loving guy with a heart of gold, always helping out his friends, and genuinely being there to cheer people up. His death would be a MAJOR blow to the morale of the other seven, and drive home a message: "the world is an unfair place, and good people often die for no reason."

    Evidence to the contrary?

like myself, the writers may see this as 'a bit emo' and not bother.

So, yeah. If Psyche, BAB or Synapse die, just gonna say: totally called it.

    Shaman/Loa pack

While most would say 'it's already been done, we've got the magic pack' that's a different matter altogether

The magic pack is something along the lines of refined, library dwelling mages and top hats and the like, I'm thinking something more like primal, tribal stuff.

I'm guessing something like this has been suggested already, but here's what I'm thinking:

    Costume Pieces:

First, we could add to the list of torn clothes availible to us, maybe some waist coats and a tribal style top hat (yay for more top hats), belts with vodoo dolls and regents on it, Crocodile and Snake heads added to the beastial section.

Auras, we could have one or many voodoo dolls following you around, if you want to go for something complex, maybe a path aura where the ground below you decays, maybe some hands emerge from the ground to grasp at the air before sinking back. Snake path, where you have a series of snakes slithering around your feet. Crow feathers, or maybe some auras inspired/borrowed from the Banished Pantheon.

    Emotes:

As for emotes, we could have a more tribal dance added to the list. We already have drums, so that's out. Maybe poking and prodding a voodoo doll with a variety of effects. Snake charming (though, that may be more fitting for something like an Arabian Nights pack). Maybe, for something rather spectacular, an emote where, before you, is a camp fire. You throw powder or materials into the fire to make smoke, then make illusions using the freshly created plume. Mayeb something where they write in an old, torn up journal. Hell, a Cauldron emote might work. Bone Rattle, or 'roll dem bones'

    Temporary Power:

This is a tough one, but I was thinking something like 'summon spirit' where you either gain a buff, attack on occassion, a minor debuff to enemies like a curse, something that's little bit helpful, but not incredebly so. As for what it looks like, could be a snake, a croc, a mask, a skull etc.

tell me what you think, perhaps we can get this off the ground.
  12. I had a few ideas, consisting of... Tidal, Seismic and Chronal.

Tidal would be just a giant tsunami wave (Cone attack, Massive Knockback etc.)

Siesmic would be something like a PBAoE foot stomp, lots of knock up

Chronal would be a large magnitude hold and superior damage as you stop time in the localised area
  13. Hm, well...

While a water based powerset would be nice, it will require a sizable graphics system (though, Bile Spray and Typhoon from the Leviathan Mastery set do well)

As for Holy... well, I wouldn't mind that, but that would then invoke the Magic power set, such as cantrips and the like, and that would render one of the origins somewhat null and void. I like the fact that the origins define missions and enhancements, while the powers can be anything you wish, they just have the magic/divine/infernal descriptor inherently.

For holy, it may be a good idea to change the colour of a power you like, or, as many people including myself do, go a pure human peacebringer and just say you aren't one ICly. (though, this can render soloing very difficult, and void stalkers would be a consistently confusing presence in missions).
