Why not have a selection for all three?
-
I like the style of C, but the glow effect of B.
-
My vote is for A.

Hello, all. For those of you who don't know me, I am Eben Brooks, a musician, filker, and front-man for The Eben Brooks Band.
I recently released a new CD called Geek Mythology, available at the band's online store, which contains four City of Heroes/City of Villains filk songs:
- Beat Up the Scum (a filk of Sheryl Crow's "Soak Up the Sun") (video)
- Don't Wanna Be Defeated (a filk of The Ramones' "I Wanna Be Sedated") (video)
- Regeneration (a filk of The Who's "My Generation") (video)
- Personal Archvillain (a filk of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus") (video)
Individual tracks can be purchased and downloaded, or you can download the entire album or even purchase a physical CD.
Thanks for reading! -

slash the wrong way?

Doesn't it need to be a backslash? When I just type "/bind_load_file d:\powers.txt", the file loads fine. It's just the commands in the files themselves that don't work.
In fact, even when I remove the "bind_load_file" part of the command, I still get an error. I can enter any command I want into the client directly and get the result I want, but when the client tries to read the exact same command from a bind file, it generates an error. -

Loading Bind Files
The City of Heroes Mac client has a "D" drive mapped to the location of your current Home folder on the Mac. Placing your bind file there will allow you to load it directly from inside the game:
1. Place a bind file, such as "binds.txt", in your Home folder.
2. In-game, type "/bindloadfile d:/binds.txt" and press Return.
3. Your binds are now available!
[/ QUOTE ]
Except for the fact that my Best Hover/Fly Bind Ever doesn't work. Whenever I try it, I get the pink text:

Unknown command: powexec_name sprint$$powexec_name hover$$bind_load_file d:\flight1.txt

Can someone tell me if I'm doing something wrong? Thanks. -
Here is El Aguila Dorado, hero of Mexico!

Yay! Excellent! That worked wonderfully. Now I can run one instance on my huge external monitor and a separate one on my small laptop screen (though not at the same time, I just needed them to match the screen resolutions of each monitor).
-
I was wondering, since one can duplicate the City of Heroes package file and run two instances of the game, why can't I set resolution sizes independently for each instance?
I've copies the City of Heroes file in my Applications folder and renamed the copy City of Heroes Small. I launched it, set the resolution size I wanted, restarted, and it was fine. But when I went to launch the regular City of Heroes application file, it was the same resolution I had just set for the Small version.
Is there any way I can make this work? I realize it may sound very odd, but it's important to me that I can do this, and so far I'm not seeing how I can. -
Oops, sorry about the double post! My browser was acting funny and not displaying the first one properly.

I recorded two more of my CoX filks recently:

Any chance that show would be anywhere near Mi ?
[/ QUOTE ]
If by "Mi" you mean Michigan...unfortunately, no. I live and perform in San Diego, CA. Someday, though, I'll do a tour. -
[ QUOTE ]
Are they all on Youtube ? Links if pos plz.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not yet, but I plan to put them up as soon as I get decent recordings of them. My next show is on March 21st, so I may be able to post one of them after that. ;-) -
[ QUOTE ]
How many songs do you have that are CoH related ? if you don't mind my asking .
[/ QUOTE ]
At the moment, four, though I'm working on a possible fifth with my friend Allison Lonsdale. -
Hey! I've been discovered!
Seriously, though, I'm glad you all like it. I don't yet have a CD of my filk material, but I do have CDs of some of my more serious music at my website, http://music.ebenbrooks.com/
However, I'm working on a couple of EP projects, and one of them will definitely be all my City of Heroes songs. So as soon as I have it all put together, I'll let you know.
As for Hero Con, I'd love to come. When and where is it? (Sorry, I'm not on these boards much, so I'm a bit out of the loop.) -

Take me down to Paragon City

OMG, that's brilliant! HAH! If it's finished, you should record it! -

Does anyone ever tell you you look like Cary Elwes?
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, that's a first for me. I've been told I look like Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp, but not Carey Elwes (until now).
Thank you! -

Okay, it's official - when I actually launch the CoVIDEOHELL site, stuff like this is getting a personal invitation.
I just inhaled my soda up my nose while watching HEY THERE CTHULHU.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, I thank you greatly for that resounding "thumbs up"!(And also I sincerely hope that your nose recovers quickly.)

First he sang "phn'glui mglw'nafh Chthulhu R'lyeh wagn'nagl fhtagn."
...then he RHYMED it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Heh. One of the reasons I wrote the thing was that I figured out that "fhtagn" rhymes with "noggin". -
[ QUOTE ]
The only bad thing about this one is that I don't see it listed on the CDs for sale, so I can't buy it!
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, there's two reasons for that...one is that we (I and my friend Allison) just wrote it a month or two ago, and the other is that I can't sell it without a) a license agreement from the artist's publisher and b) permission from the copyright holder. I could get both of those (and in fact am planning to at some point), but haven't yet. It takes a while.
The good news is, Allison and I are planning on releasing an album of our filk and uber-geek material (tentative title Parody Error) some time before the end of the year. I'll try to keep the boards informed of exactly when, but if you want to be sure to find out, you should sign up for my monthly music newsletter at my website (http://music.ebenbrooks.com/ ).
I'm so glad you all like it, though! -

I'm still partial to the Cthulhu one, though.

*blushes deeply in horrendous embarrassment*
I guess you got tired of waiting for me. No one's fault but my own, I suppose, and no excuses to make.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, no no no! Please don't be embarassed! These are just vids of my live performances. I would still love to work on an "MTV" style video with you, whenever you're ready. No hurry, honest. I know you're busy, and that this is a hobby for you. Waiting is not a problem for me.
--Eben Brooks, aka Archimagos -
Hey, everyone. I recently uploaded some of my videos, and included in these were two performances of City of X filks: "Beat Up the Scum" and "Personal Archvillain". I thought you'd get a kick out of 'em.
