    1. 45% defense is the soft-cap against even-level enemies. You may want more defense if you are fighting higher level enemies (they have a higher base tohit), and you may want more if you are facing enemies that debuff defense.

Don't look at the set bonus listing for your total details. There's another window called "View Totals", the button is near the powerset list, near "X slots left". There's two tabs there with all your details.

In-game you can look at your combat attributes for your total details. On your enhancement tray, click Powers, then click Combat Attributes. You can open and close each section, and if you right click on an attribute, you can monitor it, which opens up a little window with up to ten details at a time. I like to monitor current HP/end, inf, last hit chance, and then various applicable little stats (damage buff, recharge bonuses, resistance/defense amounts on characters with resistance or defense, etc.)

    2. Resistance and defense types do not mix. Resistance types only resist that particular type (smashing resistance resists smashing damage, but not lethal damage, etc.) Defense types only resist that particular type (smashing defense deflects smashing attacks; if an attack is flagged "fire, smashing", YES, it DOES apply; if an attack is flagged "fire, lethal", no, it does not apply). Defense uses the highest applicable number---if you have 5% smashing defense, 25% fire defense, and 2% AoE defense and are hit by a Fireball (Fire, Smashing, AoE), it uses the 25% fire defense.

    3. Damage resistance is just that: you are reducing the amount of damage you take, but you are actually hit. Defense deflects the damage; you aren't hit at all.

Some of the Lore pets CAN'T die. They are invulnerable, like Phantom Army. That's probably why those are not perma...and to create parity across the tree, none of the rest are perma.
  4. PS; "grieve" is "to feed sad". This doesn't happen very often in games; people generally play games to have fun.

The word you are looking for is "grief", which is a coopted term that, in gaming, means "doing something to screw up others' plans" (it has a wide, far-reaching application).

A lot of trial leaders are putting one group on adds. That one group on adds is taking all the drops. Drops are not spread through the whole League, they are still restricted to each individual team within the League.

Leaders are beginning to realize this, so more of them are beginning to place 1-3 people from each team on adds duty, while the rest of the team takes care of the main objectives. This way the damage done to the adds is spread around all of the teams and more drops are spread outside of the one group on adds.

If you see a leader say for one group to take out the adds, let them know the mechanics. They might not realize that.

Or they might know it and do it to favor themselves or friends. These people tend to not even respond to comments about skewed drops. I leave these trials when I notice this, and player rate/star the leader involved as one-star.

Or they might know it and do it but in a round-robin fashion by running multiple trials in a row (but then a PUG who's there for only one trial is playing crap-shoot whether they'll get on the adds team). This isn't the same as the previous group, but still not really the kind of leader I want to PUG with, since I don't know if I'll be lucky or not, since I typically cannot stomach more than two runs in a row. (I am not good at grouped repetitive tasks. I can solo repetitive tasks all day long but if I'm with a group, I want to do something varied. The trials.....they are not.)

There may have been a little net gain but if they'd done ED without Expanshalone (stupid name and stupid idea as well, should have made it an Expansion, WoW style) then it could have been a very serious problem.
The quarter surrounding the launch of CoV/I6 was the highest subscription rate in the history of the game (something like 250k subs on the financial report), even higher than CoH launch quarter.
  8. I am at 1920x1080 and can read it just fine. I have a friend whose resolution is higher than mine (I am not sure what it is, but he had to "blow up" a desktop background I sent him a while ago) and he can read it as well.

You're not asking a question, though. You're making a demand with a question mark at the end of the sentence.
  10. Don't wait in queue. Go to a coop zone and get in a pre-formed.
  11. As seen in the announcements forum, there was an issue with the Posi/Tarikoss WSTs not awarding the Notice. They've been changed to Psyche/Mantis for the remainder of the week.
  12. Power Siphon grants your character a 20 second +tohit. It also activates "Power Siphon Mode" where attacks made will each grant the character +damage, which stacks up to five times, and debuffs the enemy's damage (which also stack).

[whoo, too slow because I couldn't remember if the debuff stacked and had to go ingame to check]
  13. Hey Netphenix...just so you know...the total amount of play time lost to maintenance over the last week amounts to less than a dollar (and even less if you pay in blocks of time). Are you REALLY crabbing about that?
  14. At level 22 you should have 3 Demonlings and 1 Demon. You shouldn't get your second Demon until level 24. Are you positive you weren't sidekicked up for those missions you had 2 Demons?
  15. As seen in the announcement forum, the WST is bugged and won't reward the Notice. During Thursday's maintenance they are changing the WST back to Psyche/Mantis. Until then, Posi/Tarikoss is only good for the extra merits, and for sub-50s, the extra XP.
  16. Whoops. Just found that announcement myself.
  17. WST this week seems to be bugged occasionally. Send a petition.
  18. I20 changed shards to award to any even-con or higher enemy, not just level 50 or higher enemy.

Mission complete recipes are always your level (or the highest level available if you're higher than the recipe range).
  19. After you have slotted something, you can customize anything from that slot. Including other trees within that slot.
  20. Don't wait in the LFG queue. Go to a coop zone (RWZ is probably the most popular) and get in a pre-formed.

Incidentally, I will echo that you got some jerks. No one should care whether you've got anything slotted; nothing in the game is impossible without X, Y, or Z slotted. Freedom has a higher population of jerks since it has a higher population of everything. It shouldn't bother you; if it does, that is not their fault, it is your fault.
  21. As it states in most incarnate-related pages on the wiki, you need GR to utilize Incarnates. The wiki is probably your best bet to go to for questions. If it's not there and you know the answer/details, add it; if it's not there, ask a question and someone will answer, then you can add it or someone else will.

  22. No, /i only invites one person at a time. If you try to /i player 1, player 2, player 3, then /i will try to find the character named "player 1, player 2, player 3", which will fail.

    Forum Request

Friggen please. Incarnate stuff is all over the place right now. There should be Incarnate Questions, Incarnate Discussion, and Incarnate Teaming forums. They should be obvious what they're for, but the first two I'm hoping would remove the generic questions that are asked every day and clog up Player Questions right now, and would remove the general discussion about Incarnates that is currently clogging up City Life. And then the Teaming forum would allow people to schedule preformed teams (though this is also possibly covered by the server forums; however, lots of people are on multiple servers and it'd be nicer to have all the Incarnate-specific teaming in one place!)
