How many veteran badges does it take to buy the box that definitely includes one of those 2 archetypes as a feature?

there is a discrepancy that needs to be rectified there.

I can see holding them back for those who did not make a box purchase, but anybody who has bought a box paid for those archetypes as part of the original game.
I already told you how many you need up thread. Then I asked a question. How many veteran months do you have?

Whoops. My knowledge of the market is out of date. They are indeed currently available for 1000 points ($12.50). They didn't used to be available (what means grammar?); they were a VIP perk.

Where do Masterminds and Controllers get unlocked? Tier 5? $195 worth or so after Freedom launches? 3 times that before it launches?

I could have sworn that I paid about $50 for City of Villains and about $50 for City of Heroes, and an additional $30 for both with all 3-4 different versions I purchased over the years, which definitely included 5 archetypes each, "tanker, blaster, scrapper, defender AND controller" and "brute, corruptor, stalker, dominator AND mastermind".

They're well beyond $100 spent in the tiers and I don't even get credit for that $100 on the tiers to unlock them.

Tell me where it says I will get my mastermind and controller unlocked simply for owning a boxed copy?
    Nowhere?
That seems like a serious oversight that needs correcting.
Now I see where your panties got all up in that bunch. You have no idea how the Paragon Rewards system works. And that's not an insult, it's an observation. You really don't.

How many months veteran do you have?

Not... exactly. Not entirely everything. Arguing that you bought the archetypes can go either way.

Premium accounts don't have access to MMs or Controllers without purchasing them from the market -- currently $15 each -- or having enough subscription time stored up to unlock them via Paragon Rewards. They unlock at 13 Reward tokens. Pre-Freedom 30-month veterans unlock this automatically (30mo translates into 13 tokens...one per 3 months plus one per year). Alternately, purchasing subscription time is enough to unlock MM/troller - after Freedom launches, each month equals one token and every twelve months adds an additional token.

To the OP: Will you have been playing for 30 or more months when Freedom launches? Well congratulations, you'll have MMs and Controllers automatically and you can stop complaining about it.

Premium accounts also don't have access to HEAT/VEAT, which are VIP only. There is no way around that restriction. They are not available via Paragon Rewards or Paragon Points.
I misspoke - HEAT/VEAT are available on the market for $12.50.
  6. Happy birthday to the best redname!
  7. Those jerks took away my DXP Birthday Weekend, which I had off, and moved it to this weekend, which I did not have off. Those jerks also opened up beta during the same time, so my limited game time was split between chasing XP and chasing shinies. *grumble mumble*

Which means that it could encourage people to "specialize" within the powersets/archetypes they do have access to.

*Which in and of itself isn't exactly bad. But too much of it might make the free game feel deliberately gimped to encourage people to shell out real money. The only other MMO I've played was Runes of Magic, a F2P with micro-transactions. Imo it was exactly like this, and I don't play it any more.

Disclaimer: The information in this thread was my first exposure to any details of CoH:F. So if my conjecturing is off base, be kind.
VIPs get 400pp/mo, which means waiting two months each to access new powersets (current prices; may or may not change) for free. Instead of waiting a year or more to access a few powersets at a time for free (or gated behind purchasing an expansion). Additionally, VIPs who are currently subscribed have been accumulating 400pp monthly since July; so depending on when launch is, can purchase more than just Beam Rifle (Street Justice and Titan Weapons are slated for release after Freedom, not with Freedom). They're not likely to keep coming out with a new powerset every two months, so it's quite likely that there will be many months where your 400pp can go to things other than powersets if you're a "dedicated altoholic".
  9. The only way my namesake could finish the arc was to bring in buddies. Empathy/Archery doesn't really lend itself very well to soloing EBs, two of which can turn her into pavement paste with two or three hits.
  10. If it's just a general issue, you should get a response soon. If it's a billing issue, you'll have to wait. Billing support is not available on weekends, so you'll need to wait until Monday.

I prefer this way, and have suggested such in the past. If it's empty, don't show it.

Correct. It grants the enemy a power that causes the effect, so the enemy is the caster of the power. So multiple PCs attacking the same NPC are simply granting and re-granting the temporary power to the enemy, not actually applying the proc themselves.

Re-read what you quoted. "WITH TIME", you get Beam Rifle for free. You also get Street Justice and Titan Weapons for free "WITH TIME". Just by waiting two months each, you'll get them for free.
  14. Fire/kins are beasts. If you do a controller, remember you'll have to either start Praetorian (and he'll have to join you in Praetoria since you can't go to Primal Earth yet) or play it up to 20 in order to alignment switch it redside. (Just assuming since your OP doesn't list an alignment.)
  15. I have 1.21 Jiggawatts on Freedom that is likely going to become an Electric Control/Time Manipulation controller. Just because the thought of it makes me giggle like a loon.
  16. By getting rid of Quills when porting Spines over to Stalkers, they take a lot of the endurance-draining pain out of a Spines/DA build. Honestly, if he's careful about his endurance management (DA is still a slightly toggle-heavy set, even for Stalkers), it doesn't matter what you play. Perhaps a support toon; Kinetics or Radiation comes with recovery-assisting options...Kinetics has Speed Boost, Transference, and Fulcrum Shift for can't-stop-the-clowns-will-eat-me frenetic pacing...Radiation has tons of debuffs to go with his toxic damage and status effects.

    Client locks up

Folks in the tech issues forum would be better equipped to help. There's a lot of cross-over (most of the techies are general questions answerers too) but there are some that only haunt tech.

    Internet speeds?

I played on dial-up for a year and a half. Father_Xmas still plays on dial-up, as far as I know. You're limited on some content (I can't imagine trying to BAF on dial-up) and patching is atrocious, but otherwise is generally OK.

So yeah, keep that $40. lol

You can sort of do this now with City Info Tracker, but it's cumbersome. What I've done is create a webpage stored on my personal server that loads my friends' CIT avatar icons. I can add and remove people as I wish. Of course, this requires people to download/use Sentinel/CIT.

Titan Network 2.0 is in the beginning planning stages, and it will have a "friends" integration, including online status for mutual friends.

Just for future reference: Just because I posted after you doesn't mean I was responding to you. If I'm responding to someone, I quote them. Posting without quoting means responding to the thread.

It'd be pretty cool if they had some "population control" like the 800lb Gorilla does. If a large number of people congregate in an area killing enemies, the game figures that out and starts spawning dudes faster. Once the players thin out again, the game figures that out and reduces the spawn rate. It's all done automatically without any development intervention.

    Unbinding keys?

    ...lmao

/unbind <key> (replace <key> with the key name)
  23. I don't care about spoilers. I don't care if I'm spoiled on some plot points. I will often seek out spoilers. For example: I'm in the process of reading A Game of Thrones for the first time (I'm halfway through book 4), and I have repeatedly asked my boyfriend for clarifications on certain points in the story so I don't have to go to bed pissed of because of X, Y, or Z happening (or NOT happening).

I try not to be spoilery around new players. But I will answer any question that is asked, even if they're asking for spoilers. I'll make sure they actually do want the spoilers before answering, but if they want spoilers, they get spoilers. If they don't want spoilers, I may take the time to obfuscate the issue or I may just tell them to play the game themselves to find out.

I don't post spoilers on forums, because I'm typically the last person to know

  25. Because it's technically an object, not an enemy. The wiki only lists enemies on the faction pages.
