I actually like the idea of the sets being rotated out and put on the market at a later date. T-9 VIP's get early access, then later down the road those of us that are not T-9 have a chance to get them as well (after some of the best costume ideas for those peices have been used). I'm good with that. It makes sense to me, as well as good business strategy. Earlier one poster said he dropped $100 to get to T-9 for the celestial set before it rotated out; All I can say to that is that marketing did its job well. If they REALLY want to make a "set" and keep it exclusively to T-9 VIP's thet should make a set of the Signature mob peices that everyone wants and lock those to T-9 VIP (and never rotate them out).

My first thought when I saw him was Sasquatch from Alpha Flight. Human Torch would be more red with yellow (yes I know red and yellow make orange, but that's not how he is drawn.)
-
So what is the deal with this? Is it live yet? Is there any contacts associated with it to get missions from? I'm in game and haven't seen a single sign of anything to do with this? Some information would be much appreciated.

Quote:I have to agree with this. Although this is probably not the right forum for it (try suggestions) I still think this is a good idea. A couple of weeks ago I finally broke down and deleted my first lv50 toon. He was just completely ineffective for my playstyle. It would have been REALLY nice to have the option of some sort of super-respec to buy from the store, so as to not waste the levels and badges I had earned in getting him to 50.Finally! Thank jeebus for small favors!
Here's my brilliant idea for a GREAT market item:
A Characer re-do! I still have a level 50 Fire/Ice tank from Pre-ED, and I don't delete him as I have years invested in him, but I also don't play him, because ED completely destroyed his effectiveness. There is simply no way to respec and reslot and re equip him to make him effective with the secondary and primary he has. if he was Ice/Ice, he'd be great, if he was fire/fire, he'd be great. It's just a sad fact of that combo now, he's ineffective. can't take enough damage, can't do enough damage. So how about a purchase from the Market that allows a person to rechoose the primary and secondary on a single character? Can't change the origin, can't change the AT, just the powersets. Make it a high prices item say 2500-3500 points, so it's not something that get's used often, but for those people who get nailed by a nerf, it gives them a choice to pay to reclaim the time they spent building a character. (Add-on sales would include character re-names, since a character name might not make sense with the new powers) Those who have now ineffective characters win, the market makes a boatload of cash so they win. Anyone see a problem with this that I didn't think of? -
Quote:Actually I can think of a couple of already in game methods to deliver such a choice. The after mission pop-up reward selection menu for one. That could be populated with the choices and set to pop-up at character login, graying out previously selected account reward options.
There is no way currently in game to provide the sort of choice you're asking for. Which means such a system would have to be developed for it. Which, I'm guessing, since it doesn't already exist, is not a trivial thing. Which means that they would have to dedicate a non trivial amount of effort for ... what reward exactly? Addressing a couple of misguided entitlement issues?
Another possible way to offer choices would be through the mail system. They could use the same mail delivery choice system that is used for vet pets choice, and power choices as the "sands of mu" and "nemesis staff".
Don't take this as me saying I think this is what they SHOULD do, I'm just setting the record straight that it CAN be done. Personally I'm okay with a free respec, just hope that it comes via charcter mail so i can save it with my others waiting to be claimed when needed. -
This weeks offering is lame, but hey; it's not another use of the four-legged rig. To be honest i was expecting the panther stealth power this week. I didn't expect staff fighting til the anniversary, so next week is good for me.
p.s. Zwil thanx for the heads up on the release date -
Personally, I want to thank Zwil for this thread. We had called for a REDNAME response, and we got one. Thank you Zwil. I, for one wasn't expecting staff to release this week, but I do understand the frustration that people are feeling over this. It is especially understandable given the apparent unreadiness of BM. Personally I think that the new dark powers would have been enough of a break in melee sets to allow for staff to be released ahead of BM. The apparent rush of BM from introduction thru to live does make me wonder if maybe one devs ideas get more attention/preference than some of the others?
As for the release schedule idea, I like the monthly producer's letter that we got last month. Not giving exact release dates, but a general idea of what is coming for the month. Word-of-mouth in game propagation would be more than enough to get the information to non-forum users. -
Darth to which special thread are you referring to, I haven't seen any that address the lack of communication about staff fighting.
NM. Winterminal posted the link. -
I just re-read the forums rules and there was no mention of asking a redname to post being listed as a violation. The closest was a mention of posting PRIVATE communications between some form of staff and yourself on the public forums is a violation.
-
Wow! You called out for a REDNAME Denji, and everyone stops posting like they are waiting for one to reply.

Costume pieces, definitely. They could even do a whole clown custume pack. Hair pieces, hats, different face make-ups, shoes, a clown nose for face detail, all kinds of options there.
(sorry, had to keep the clown theme running.)
I would definitely pay for a clown pack though. -
I did say the fear is unreasonable. On top of that carnies are not clowns. Actually I don't think I have seen an actual CLOWN in game, all kinds of carnies, but no clowns.
-
First, I'm going to start with clown summoning. Yes; there is enough of the player base that wants/would buy this to make it reasonable from a business perspective. No; we will probably never see this become a reality because of one dev's unreasonable fear of clowns.
Now, to address staff fighting. The biggest reason for alot of the frustration (from my standpoint) on the delay of staff fighting, is that it was done before BM. It had less bugs, and alot less complaints on beta. In all respects it seemed ready to play long before BM; which according to feedback on beta forumas wasn't really ready to go live when it was released. At this point I can think of two possible reasons for the delay. 1st, they are saving staff fighting for the anniversary event. 2nd, (the lack of communication is what leads me to this conclusion), that someone at PS is actively trying to block the release of Staff Fighting.
I hope we can get a REDNAME to weigh in on these issues. -
While I would seriously LOVE to have a clown summoning MM, another option for it would be to make the thug/ninja or mercenary sets customizable as clowns. Yes i would even pay the full 800 pp for this option.
-
Ya this week was disappointing with VIP's getting nothing new. I actually would have been suprised if staff fighting would have been released this close to beast mastery. I don't expect to see staff fighting until the anniversary celebration. Next week I expect to see the panther stealth power released, to stay in tune with BM and the sale on animal costume pack.
A note to devs/marketing: It would be extremely appreciated if when your major store release for the week is something VIP's get for free, that you release atleast SOMETHING new for VIP's to buy. Or you could just let us accumulate interest on the PP we save up waiting for something worthwhile to be released. -
I would love to see the actual numbers on how many people REALLY buy this pet for this insane price. Personally I plan on asking anyone I see with a leperchaun out for 2 billion influence since they OBVIOUSLY enjoy throwing their money away.

Reppu, the devs said Imperial Dynasty fixes would be in the update AFTER i22 release...so next tuesday.

each charge of the experienced power gives you 5 bars of patrol XP; while XP booster doubles the xp earned for a time (1 hour I believe).
Restore and Revive are both resurection powers, one is self only the other is ally only ( I forget which is which). -
Here is the tally of my 24 count of superpacks (minus the inspirations)
elemental order costume: 11 pieces
ATO's: 6
Enhancement Catalyst: 4
enhancement boosters: 75
enhancement unslotters: 8
reward merits: 1250
windfall: 10
revival: 12
XP booster: 8
experienced: 15
restore:14
prestige booster: 1
all said, not too bad. was hoping for some enhancement converters but those may not be released yet. -
Nope! just checked and the converter's are NOT in the shop yet. I hope there is still a chance for them in the packs. Has anyone seen any yet?
-
Has anyone checked under the enhancement booster's tab in the shop to see if they put enhancement converters in. On beta those were great. Used them to turn the ATO's I didn't want into ATO's that I needed. They were also a random draw in superpacks as well as the enhancement catalyst; which was used (level 50 only characters) to boost the ATO sets to higher numbers.

Lame doesn't even come close to describing the new item. It is definitely NOT worth the downtime (not to mention price).
-
Seriously?!? This is what all the downtime is for?
