Hey there, I searched the forums for this issue for about 10 min and didn't see any posts that seemed to be close to my problem, so if you know of a thread plz direct me to it.
CoX is consistently crashing, not allowing me to play. I get through the updater just fine and can log in, but when i select a server to play on the game immediately crashes. I tried playing in safe mode, but the problem remains.
It started yesterday morning when i was switching characters. I logged out and signed back in, but when i selected a server the game crashed. Ever since then i haven't been able to get past the server selection screen!
All of my drivers are up to date, and i know that there is not firewall/isp connection issue. I'm running on Windows Vista x32. I have also been working with NCsoft Support, looking for fresh ideas.
I attached the City of Heroes Test document from NCsoft's GameAdvisor, you can find all of the specifics in that.

Im not trying to be rude or anything, but how do you manage to play on an 8 player team, with or without MMs, if the market+toggle(s) laggs you that hard?

I've been using a Dark/Dark brute for quite a while now, and I can honestly say that Fury has never been an issue while using OG. I also use a stealth proc in conjunction with Cloak of Darkness.
Personally, with my current build, OG goes more damage to me with my aggro capped than the minions can do unless they are 3 or 4 lvls higher than me. At which point Death Shroud takes care of all of the minions by the time i've taken down a boss and an Lt with single target attacks. (Once fury is full, Death Shroud will tear through the minions)
I wouldn't worry about it so much. Just make sure you have enough +recovery to support Dark Armor effectively. The +endurance accolades do wonders too.

Are you aware of the diminishing effects that occur when you slot something with 4 or 5 of the same IO? 4 slots on build up, all recharge redux, is a little bit over board. That 4th slot could be doing something much more helpful else where. Same thing with 5 defense buffs on one power. If you take on someone with better stamina than you, i dont think this build will allow you fight very long before being completely drained of endurance.

Using stalker tactics, a well built regen would be fine in PvP. I agree. I was simply making a point that the HP growth room is very small for a stalker. Dull Pain alone, and un-enhanced, will cap the HP of a stalker. The heal it provides is very potent and usefull, but the hp/sec attributes of the regen build is being greatly suppressed for stalkers because of such a low hp cap.

According to the Paragon Wiki, stalkers at lvl 50 have a base HP of 1204.8 and a cap at 1606.4. Dull Pain w/o enhances will increase your HP by about 482 points. 1204.8 + 482 = 1686.8! Thats already above the HP cap allowed for stalkers, making Dull Pain completely useless to enhance with health (asside from the heal it provides), and totally negating the effects of +hp Accolade powers and health bonuses from IOs while it is active. I see this as an extreme disadvantage for a lot of reasons, especially when regen relies almost completely on HP.
Now, I haven't actually ran a toon to see if this is in fact the case, but according to mids a lvl 50 stalker cannot have more that 133.4% HP. 133.4% is the same as the 1606.4 cap.
Just for example sake: Dull Pain 6 slotted with Doctored Wounds will recharge in 177.8s (not including any recharge bonuses or hasten) and the +HP effect lasts 120s. Its safe to say that a well-made lvl 50 /regen stalker will have Dull Pain active MOST of the time, if not always on.
Basically what this all comes down to is this: stalker health caps in their current state are a little unfair, I agree with the base HP, but only having 400 points to gain while the scrapper can gain more than 1000? Only having 400 more HP won't allow nearly as much room for hp/sec powers to tick, AND all of your +hp bonuses are doing nothing for you. Same goes for the +hp in some accolades.
In reality, the HP for a regen stalker is basically fixed at 1606 points.
Got the High Pain Threshold badge (10% bonus to hp)? Thats great! But too bad for you, because your HP is still 1606 points.
With Scrappers having 1071 HP available to gain with powers like Dull Pain, accolades, and Bonuses, they are more able to utilize the space they have in their HP bar for growth, while a /regen stalker is basically stuck with fixed HP after lvl 10. There is no wonder why the only scrappers in PvP zones are /regen.

Gotta love that feeling. I can already see the weak-looking sapper just laughing in your face as your toon can't seem to muster enough strength to brawl him... true story.

Yeah... ME? Not so lucky. Rolled lvl 40-45 gold roll 3 different times. EVERY TIME i got the Devastation proc, and your lucky if you can sell that for more than 1000!! 3 times... I hate my life...
