  1. I have a couple of co-workers who play WoW. They have signed the petition. I will see if I can get at least one of them to start spreading the word in their community.
  2. Xenon62

    Catalyst 11.9

Installed 11.9, then did two TFs (Citadel and ITF) back to back (combined time about 3 hours) with no problems at all. Before, running 11.4, I would crash a few times an hour. Looks like the problem is resolved.

    Thanks!

Tried it; crash rate went down but not to zero. Example, on Thursday I crashed three times in an hour. With shadows off, it's down to once every few hours. (As opposed to the i21 release, when the crashing was once every few days.)

I find myself wondering which ethnicities correspond to the blue and green skin tones...
  5. Got a popup window that 11.7 was now available when I turned my computer on this morning. First thing I did was to check this thread.

I bought a new video card (ATI Radeon 5670) a couple of weeks ago when the old card (ATI Radeon 4650) failed. With the new card I downloaded the newest drivers (11.6) and had nothing but problems, game locking up and crashing to desktop. From the advice in these forums, I rolled back to 11.4, and I've had no problems since. (I didn't go with 11.3 as it won't display 1600x900 correctly.)

From the discussion here, looks like I am going to ignore the pleas from ATI to upgrade to 11.7...
  6. Two ITFs and a Posi 1, at "Recommended", no crashes at all... or at any other time since I rolled back to the 11.4 drivers. I think the problem has been solved.
  7. Rolled back from 11.6 to 11.3... then found that 11.3 does not support my screen resolution properly -- 1600 x 900 @ 60 Hz (the only option), screen is distorted. Went from there to 11.4 (same resolution has 59 Hz available, which looks fine), and everything is stable so far.

(It occurs to me that this is what I had for my old card. I changed from an HD 4650 to an HD 5670 when the old card started malfunctioning.)
  8. I have also sent a bug report. Me, I use a magnifying glass held up to the screen. It's inconvenient, but it will do until the Devs fix it.
  9. I get lag even when I'm just moving around in a zone.
The game crashes at odd times, sometimes requiring me to restart my computer.
Trick-or-Treat monsters are tougher, resulting in frequent party wipeouts and massive debt.
And then the developers say they've extended the event to November 8.

The event has made the game almost unplayable, and I am not enjoying the event. See you on November 9.
