Quote:What was the reason for this?
Soul Extraction will now be cancelled when a player becomes sidekicked. -
They should rename the snow aura (hair option) to "Super Dandruff".
I think Snow and Firefly auras are pretty sweet. I love how the fireflies sweep around your toon, and it's also has the combat option, which'll make a sweet start up to your powers!
I dunno if I'd just pay for an aura pack, though... -
When I saw the character, I thought he was really, really gay. And as a gay man myself, I can kinda be an expert on that subject. Lol. I don't think people intended those comments to be hurtful, but they can be. So, it says a lot when they retracted them and apologized. Kudos to you all.
Now that the hand holding is done with, let's get down to the cruel fashion critiquing!
Constructive critism...he is super campy. Male characters have to be careful how much skin they show in contrast with such bright colors. Look at Colossus' suit from the 90s! If you want to give him more of a Greco-Roman feel, put him in the Valentine's Day toga or the Roman armor or the Valkyrie add-on (yes, I know I'm dishonoring my Norwegian Viking ancestors by telling you to pass that clothing off as a Greek character...) That's just my opinion to make the character be more "serious" looking. -
$9.99 is a little outrageous a price for something so small. Now, if it gave ALL of your toons on a specific server a respec, sure. Though, just one? Other packs worth $9.99 (like the Wedding Pack or the Justice/Sinister pack) unlocked entire costume sets and emotes for every current toon and every future toon in your account.
Now if it was $1.99, then it would be a different story.
If people want it, go for it. I won't buy this. I'm tempted for my Fortunata, who I went through 2 VET and 1 free respec to get a build I STILL don't like. Though, in the end, $9.99 is just a little too expensive for something so trivial.
This also raises the question: are they going to start selling off VET rewards? $9.99 for samurai armor? angel/demon wings? Arachnos helmets? Or special event outfits like the Greek outfit (laurel crown, sandals, toga)?
This idea I won't mind spending $9.99 on. I've played this game for 24 months, and it sucks that I've got to wait another 30 before I can have the Arachnos helmets (got the crab spider helmet, but I never use it). Allowing players to purchase certain VET rewards is a better way of getting players to spend more money.
We Americans don't like to wait. We want everything right now, right away (one-hour dry cleaning and instant popcorn for you). And we're not afraid of spending a little doe in order to get it. -

At the risk of traveling down a negative path, I don't think the announcement in the form is a good idea. Did the dev team learn nothing from how Powerset Proliferation was handled? A tantalizing but incredibly vague announcement only leads to weeks of speculation and fantasizing, and then the actual details are almost guaranteed to disappoint as it's unlikely it could ever live up to the expectations generated by the speculation and fantasizing.

While I am excited about the creative aspect custom missions will bring, I have to agree about the Devs' choice of revealing it. People are getting exicted because they'll make the ultimate farms, fight off both Lord Recluse and Statesman in the same arc, and endure a Battle Royale-type encounter with hundreds of Master Illusionists.
In reality, I think it might be CoX's version of Mad Libs...

As I said before, I think it will give players a chance to expand their creativity, but I think that's about it. I doubt you'll be able to select where mobs will be located at or where the important object will be placed. The Devs will put up safeguards to ensure there aren't ubermobs or unique and rare item drops. -
Mission creators? Sounds fun.

April Fools! Good one!
*laughs controlably*
.....
This is an April Fool's joke, right? 'Cos...
*looks at it strangely* -
Finally, a reason for fashionably-challenged players to look halfway decent. Sure, they'll all look the same (just with different color combos), but at least it's a step in the right direction. Next step for Issue 13, removal of the "random button".
What I'm curious about is groups such as the "Robot" one. The Robot group only has gloves and boots in the set. Are the devs porting in different body groups from the Mastermind robots set to player toons? Very-very doubtful, but it would be welcomed. None of the robot toons I've seen look very much like robots... -

Wow...you know, that question was answered exactly 2 posts above yours.

Wow...you know, I do know now. Thanks for pointing that out. You're super. -
Very cool, Mantid. How exactly did you get the 'toon of Ghost Widow to do all those emotes?
