I kinda miss the Hollows death run. Avoiding mobs of Trolls & Outcasts, falling into the massive hole in the middle and running into those purple conning rock monsters. At the time it was hell but it was a right of passage for every new hero.

I ask because I was doing that mission last night, must have died three or four times, bloody fire and ice pets! Wouldn't have been too bad if the mission area wasn't located a mile away from the hospital area and hover or sprint are so slow.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Followed TheMess' instructions and that sorted the chkdsk thing, still trying to sort out CoH and a few other things.

Thanks for the advice. I've checked my firewall permissions and they're all good, gonna try updating my DirectX deally next, though the whole thing's caused a new problem. Everytime I turn on my PC it runs a dskchk (think that's what it's called) It gets to 14% and then freezes. I have to skip the check just to get on.

I have McAfee which updates itself pretty regularly. I've looked through it but there doesn't seem to be anything that would stop CoH. Also my firewall is set to allow it so unless I'm missing something it's not that.

I'm having a strange problem with CoH that's only reared it's head in the past few days. I click on my CoH icon and he updater comes up as normal, I click 'next' and then 'I agree' on the EULA bit, as normal, but then before I get the 'loading' graphic everything freezes. It just locks up and I have to turn my PC on and off again before I can do anything else.
I've uninstalled the game and then redownloaded and installed the client but did nothing, and my last virus scan turned up nothing (I'm running another now just in case). Anyone had this problem before or know how to fix it?
I'm running XP and the game has never before had problems on this PC.

Not sure if it matters but I'm on Tiscali and still getting no where. Tried GR's advice but still nothing.

Yeah mine doesn't seem to be connecting either. Least it's not just me.

Just picked up Mace Blast from Black Scorpion's patron set and the animation on that works fine while the VEAT blasts are still not animating.

Possibly not related but I've noticed Crey Radiologists have an animation bug too. Their tricorder looking dealys seem to float beside them when they use their radiation debuff.

I've found the same thing happening with my Bane, the animations for the blasting powers just haven't been activating. As far as I can tell it only started happening after the last patch.
