And when it looks like they're doing that... folks complain that the new sets just aren't powerful enough. You just can't make 'em all happy...

    [/ QUOTE ]

What made people unhappy the fact that it appeared that the Devs were not paying attention to the thread (lack of redname posts until just today).

I find the absence of Red Name comments on either the Elec Armor or the Elec melee to be quite sad at this point. We know they are reading the boards, but their lack of comment to me at this point is that both versions of Elec are " working as intended ".

Given the potential for this set - not really looking for uber, but was hoping for par - in its current form it will be most likely relegated to theme/concept builds only.

Can't really comment yet, other than to say I've read the thread and am making recommendations based on the feedback here.

And this is why we love you Castle: you fight for us (and make it known)!

Ya see... this is part of the problem: the training room is for testing, right? So how are we supposed to test stuff if we have to take all the usual time and what-not to level up? I mean, if all they wanted to test were the first couple of powers, then this is a good tactic, but if they want ALL the powers tested, we all need to be able to roll lvl 50 elec/elec brutes and have unlimited infamy & respec to try different power combinations. Like the other poster mentioned - he only used end mod TOs - how are we really supposed to see how things are, given that the majority of a character's career is post-SOs?

Right now, it just isn't worth the time investment to me to play on test - I'd rater pay to play the final product, as it were. Perhaps they should give out badges for those who play on test for any length of time or somesuch (at least)...

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Korean players are getting a lvl bump. So in essence the Devs are saying: "We're trusting -them- to test this stuff this time. You guys have to grind out on test and not enjoy your time on the Live servers you're paying for just so we can get the numbers we need."

The conclusions I draw from this are two-fold: Either they [the Korean testers] aren't testing (game is new over there..why test when you can be on Live?) or they don't see the same problems we do having not played all the other powersets extensively.

I like having conserve power and power sink in the same set... especially since we can't get conserve power in our ppps now.

I still don't know what 7(!) powers to drop for all the pool powers I want, but I know that lightning reflexes + hasten + conserve power + build up will be one heck of an attack string, especially with a high amount of fury. 2 or so minutes of non-stop attacking with all your biggest attacks at high fury would be nuts.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This, once again, brings up a good argument: we should not have to take PPs to survive in this game. Our primaries/secondaries should be enough and PPs should exist to cover a hole or two in the set.

Electric Shields has three major holes, one of which (lack of self-heal) cannot be plugged with a PP as the set does not offer defense, only resistance thus making Aid Self a useless power choice. If the set isn't going to get a resistance boost then it should at least get some form of self-heal...or maybe Electric Melee should?

Right now the only benefit we get from combining those two sets is just a little (strong emphasis on little) more End. I'd rather see a stronger reason to take these sets together.

    Cause ELA has
    - auto +rech
    - power sink (DA is heavy on end and a pain if you dont have DM)
    - conserve power

    [/ QUOTE ]

My issue with the set as is is the fact that having Conserve Power and Power Sink in the same set is redundant. We need one or the other, not both.

As to the argument that we should fill gaps with power pools: I'd rather have the option of taking a primary or secondary power than a power pool any day. If I have a concept that calls for lots of pool powers, I'll take them. But if I have a concept that calls for lots of primaries and secondaries I'd like to take them without having my gameplay suffer.

Right now the electric sets, when placed together, are impossible to solo with unless you make it a habit to only carry green inspirations which also, should not be required.

Unlike ALL of the other sets it has -end resistance, thats its unique feature

    [/ QUOTE ]

That is not unique. Second armor toggle in DA gets that.

The point is that -end resist isn't enough when that same power is availible in another set with better resists plus a massive PBAoE heal

So much for MMs having their pets ignored in PvP now

    [/ QUOTE ]

QFT. My scrapper is gonna have to watch out for MMs now.

It's still not coded to be 100% right.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Then, frankly, it's 100% useless. If you have an inherent that has a bar display like Defiance or Fury, you should feel the effects of that inherent as your bar increases.

Fury works so why doesn't Defiance? I can't imagine that the coding would be so different.
  9. Hoo-freaking-rah! Thank you so much Statesman! There's several AV-type characters who I'd like to solo and this is will be a major blessing.

Also, thanks for the costume additions! You guys didn't have to do it but I'd darned considerate of you to take the time to allow us to have more costume options.

Risk versus reward, stalkers have absolutely pathetic defenses, no resists whatsoever, and no holds/soft controls or anything except for a single placate that takes a very long time to recharge.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's actually not all true. I've been PvPing every night for the past week with my MA/Regen scrapper. Without fail, every night I have duked it out with at least one Stalker. Their defenses aren't bad, not scrapper worthy but still not bad. Their Mez protection, however, is far better than my own with Integration running. I've hit every Stalker I've faced - repeatedly - with Cobra Strike (four slotted: 1 +acc SO, 3 Disorient duration SOs). I've not ONCE stunned a Stalker with that power, a power that never fails to stun a Lt that cons red to me. Perhaps this is a bug with Cobra Strike or perhaps a bug in the Stalker resistance tables or perhaps I just have bloody rotten luck. I dunno. All I know is that I'm connecting with them and they're getting away without any problem whatsoever.

Makes playing MA, a set that focuses on status effects, very aggravating in PvP.
