Ive been playing energy/energy/force blaster for 9 months now and still think its great
How you use all your powers and how you play is what makes the difference.

Single target (ranged) - PowerBolt, PowerBlast, PowerBurst, BoostRange
Single target (melee) - PowerThrust, EnergyPunch, Stun, Bonesmasher, TotalFocus, PowerBoost
Multiple target (Ranged) - EnergyTorrent, ExplosiveBlast
Multiple target (melee) - Nova

Nova is the single most devastating pbaoe in the game; I think to have an energy blaster and not use it is a waste With IO's you can pad out the damage buff and add more damage procs. Coupled with hasten and global recharge you can nuke every 60 seconds.

For endurance after nova pop a blue then Conserve, Forces or Geas.
With a high enough global recharge, conserve or forces will be up when nova is ready.

Back to the ops original question.

Like Shadowe I go for Bup+Aim+EB+ET and use this inbetween Novas which works great on all mobs. With fast recharge you can even hit them again before they get up

Soloing or teaming on invinc is not a problem as long as you learn your limits.

I've run STF a couple of times with a WP tank as the primary. On one run the WP tank went through the whole thing intact without any difficulty.

On another occasion with a different WP tank; had to have buffs to survive.

I guess it must have been slotting or IOs that made the difference. Both tanks where lvl50.

Try doing the Praetorian arc on invincible.
If you feel confident in holding +3 +4 AVs at lvl49 then you shouldnt have a problem on a heroic STF.

At higher levels I find temp invulnerability on a Blaster is fairly mild. Mainly as everything you fight can detoggle you and there is only a handful of mobs where it actually makes any difference

It is handy though for invention slotting considerations.

I find repulsion field is handy for soloing PVE but there are lots of other power choices which I find better

If you want to have fun...
...then try getting repulsion field, hasten, whirlwind, power boost and power thrust.

Six slotting power thrust with KB, powerboost and vanguard medal and with the other KB powers will put you in the >100 mag KB area.. acrobatics and AVs wont be enough

What I meant is that both bup and aim give good tohit/damage buffs however they wont recharge in time to fight every mob and only last 10 seconds.

Using the two together on one mob is overkill as either aim or bup would have been sufficient to finish them off and leaves you without any buff for the next mob.

Spreading out bup and aim on every other mob means you fight ALL the time with a constant tohit/damage buff .

Fighting on Invincible raises the level of mobs by a few levels; thereby raising their defence. So having a constant tohit/damage buff is very handy

To the ops original question; I would perhaps start at Heroic... learn you're powers and move up a difficulty.

Keep going until you reach Invincible

If you are trying to stay ranged and solo, then worth getting hover/fly to stay out of melee range.

Energy primary gives you lots of knockback which is very handy for soloing. You're key power early on is Energy torrent. Its main use is not for damage, but rather keeping the enemy back or on them . Use it as a large mob entry power to take that initial hit... learning how to place yourself to maximise hitting as many as possible.

The boring melee powers you mention can do more damage to single targets than blasting alone (inparticular Energy ).

If you are soloing then I would aim for maximising single target damage as mobs are relatively small and bosses/Elite bosses later on wont succumb as easy to knockback

Build up and aim are the key . Be aware that when used together they partially cancel out each others effects.
Hence it is best to use them independently when fighting mobs; and together for fighting single targets.

Just learn you're powers, how to use them and over time you'll learn you're limits

Regards using Stun Ive been told that combined with Energy Punch and other energy melee it is more effective.

That said; if you are using two powers to get Punch and Stun, you may as well go for Taunt and Fear

Can someone help clarify if acrobatics or tough/weave can help stop you getting stunned/disorientated ?

I spend alot of time getting stunned and was wandering if there was any way of reducing this on a blaster ?

On a similar note, I respec'd to get stun for use in pvp; but it doesnt appear to do anything against anyone I fight Any other good suggestions for an energy/energy blaster to detoggle opponents other than going for fear ?
