Disorient and Stun

Howdy,

Can someone help clarify if acrobatics or tough/weave can help stop you getting stunned/disorientated ?

I spend alot of time getting stunned and was wandering if there was any way of reducing this on a blaster ?

On a similar note, I respec'd to get stun for use in pvp; but it doesnt appear to do anything against anyone I fight Any other good suggestions for an energy/energy blaster to detoggle opponents other than going for fear ?

There is a way to reduce the stun duration by taking Aid Self and using it so that the icon is constantly on. This doesn't prevent you from getting stunned, but will reduce the time you'll spend wobbling around like an idiot.

Plus with some IOs you can reduce the amount of time stunned.

Stun is a nice utility power for PvE maybe if you find yourself wanting to solo anytime. PvP, well it's not great because of the huuuuge animation time, and although I'm not sure of numbers, yeah it seems erratic in success.

Bone Smasher & Total Focus etc are great detogglers and have great disorients. Someone else could give you better info for numbers etc . I *think* Total Focus is 100% on dropping 1 toggle, and might be that high for causing disorient?

Guess will have to try that AidSelf idea and carry break frees

Regards using Stun Ive been told that combined with Energy Punch and other energy melee it is more effective.

That said; if you are using two powers to get Punch and Stun, you may as well go for Taunt and Fear

[/ QUOTE ]Wait, you don't have energy punch? It's your highest DPA (Damage Per Animation time) attack.

But the other Energy Melee attacks are great for causing Disorient! And Disorient is so much better than Fear, which you'd be committing a power pool choice to get ?

Not to mention fear wont detoggle anyway. Best bet to detoggle someone is TF i reckon, iirc ithas 100% stun chance and does a nice amount of damage to boot. Stun's animation time is just not worth it, couldve used that time to smack him silly with other punches.

PS. Bout stun not doing anything to them, you sure they werent CMed?

TF is a mag 4 stun, whereas stun is mag 3. Both have 100% chance to stun. BS is a mag 3 stun but on has a 20% chance to effect. From experiace of using all of them, I can conlclude that stun is rubbish for PvE, wont stun a boss and takes way too long to fire off. TF is great, although it takes eternity to fire, its damage is ridiculous and the stun is very nice for bosses. Stun can be used in PvP for detoggling squishys and stacking against anyone with mez protection. Although I had to drop it from my PvP build due to the fact it was too hard to stack the stuns on melee toons and TF works better on squishies.
