  1. While the article was interesting, I found some of the information lacking. I think a more complete report on the Family can be found here.

    Thugs MM Guide

    I don't know why you should completely ignore the pistol attack powers. There is something I find rather interesting about the Thug MM over others. Where the other MM sets give you a lot of powers to supplement/aid your minions, Thugs seems a bit more geared to having the MM actively engage in fighting alongside their minions. It seems with other MMs, you spend most of the battle buff/debuff and healing your minions. Thugs seems geared towards the MM engaging the enemy and using the bodyguard ability. I like that this adds a bit more flavor to the primary set, and it is not a cookie-cutter MM primary with different modeled minions.

  4. I will add Pinnacle to that list of RP servers. RP Congress
  5. * Supergroup Name: The Coalition of Communist Crusaders for the Proletariat (CCCP)
    * Website: www.cccpgroup.us
    * Leader or Recruiting Officers: Red Saviour II [Additional recruiting officers: Bestial Boy, Communard, Soviette, Carpathia, Svarog, Untermensch]
    * Preferred Method of contact: SG website
    * Guild Description:

    What is CCCP? CCCP, and auxiliary group Young Champions, are Communist-themed Roleplaying Supergroups in the City of Heroes online game. We currently operate on the Pinnacle server (but do have some auxiliary groups on other servers). We use the game as a jumping off point for our own collaborative storytelling.

    We welcome all comrades to join CCCP, but please note we have following rules:

    1. You do not need to be Communist or Marxist, but you should PRETEND to be Communist or Marxist (or some other leftist radical political faction) while pretending to be superhero in online game. It is -- how do you Americans say -- ROLE-PLAYING.

    2. Your character should have some tie-in with leftist political ideologies, through Mother Russia or some other nationalities' political movement... or fake, such as Symbionese Liberation Army. It is the theme of our group. A right-wing patriotic hero would not fit in. Nor would Wolverine Mk. 2.

    3. Please have some grasp of classic comic book characterization. We are not looking for X-Mens, Spawns, or any of this new-fangled stuff. No "macho, dark, mysterious" heroes that are but a facade for an underconfident teenager. We are classic Marvel and DC inspired.

    4. Mature gamers of all ages preferred. Our focus is on the characters and the gaming experience, not the level of our characters.

    5. We are happy to make suggestions for character themes, if you are interested but know little about Soviet culture. Actually, we are no experts either. We draw more from a comic book/pulp depiction of Cold War era Communism. Lots of sloganeering, "capitalist" this and "fascist" that, "running dogs" all over the place. True Russians would be appalled.

    6. We are located on the Pinnacle (Earth Odin), Protector (Earth Dva), and Virtue (Earth Tree) servers.

    [NOTE: We are in a coalition with several other excellent roleplaying groups. If CCCP is not for you, be sure to check out other role playing groups at RolePlayers Congress: www.rpcongress.com ]

    Changes to Rage

    I can understand implementing some form of penalty for using a power that can be tweaked to be too useful. But I think the idea of implementing disadvantages to another power that can potentially knock the player out is a bit severe. As a tank (especially if teamed) the odds are if I do not use rage at the right time, I will be surrounded by enemies that can make quick work of me if stunned or no endurance. I don't understand why this penalty for having rage has to be so severe.

    Many people have stated this before which I think is a great idea, after rage expires introduce a severe damage (or accuracy) reduction on the player's attacks for a good 30-60 seconds. Or increase the recharge of the power and don't allow it to take recharge slots. That way it becomes a useful tool for players to use in a bad situation, but does not cripple the player if that situation is not under control at rage's expiration. All the while, it will prevent a player from constantly using the power without having some manner of a penalty.
