((We fixed the situation in the end, thanks for everyone for putting up with that and to all those who expressed concern. We managed to fudge things into order in the end, some quick thinking on player parts gave me the perfect hooks, and I'll try and arrange another mission soon. As for now, Nene is working on decrypting those files.
*Hugs for all involved, from your friendly, if slightly prone to stressing, neighbourhood occasional plot GM'er.* )) -
((I apologise for leaving the mission like that, but when you suffer from anxiety, panic attacks and stress related ailments, stress being something I don't cope with well, having such conditions thrown on me gets me very, very, very stressed and agitated, and when I started to go into the panic attakc, I logged out. RP isn't worth having a panic attack in front of my own PC in my bedroom.))
-
Last night, Nene went up to Colie and said, rather politely.
"Andre, why is the Paragon Inquirer: insinuating that I am your sex gynoid?"
Damn the Inquirer! In a good way of course. Great work on the scrapbook, it's even inspired me to start adding some things to my little write ups and stories, like the poster and the newspaper article, or the log files Nene pulled from Crey PCs.
(I'm just not as good at is as you are though. ) -
To all whom: it concerns.
Tonight we will be rescuing: Andrew Varr from a Crey Research facility. We meet at 8pm under the statue in: Blyde Square, Steel Canyon.
This will be a: dangerous mission. We will encounter hostile forces, due to the top secret nature of: the project. Prepare well.
I have pulled several datafiles from the information provided by: Pix and Lady Cobra. There are three I have included with this: dossier.
This is the information availble on Crey networks about: Andrew Varr. Read it to: familiarise yourself with the situation.
Most of the lead scientists logs are on: audio files. Here is a short selection of written entries. I warn you: content may be disturbing, but it shows: what kind of people we are facing and: why.
Dr. Andrea Michaels Log Files 1.
The second set of: log files.
As you can see from the: nature of the documents, it is imperitive that we: rescue Andrew Varr. As such, our mission detail is as follows -
Prime Objectives:
Rescue Andrew Varr from Crey Research Labs.
Apprehend Dr. Andrea Michaels.
Destroy All Data on Project SALAMANDER and associated Projects.
Secondary Objectives:
Release any Other Captives.
Back up Important Medical Files for Use in Treating Andre Varr.
To all those who are reading this: good luck, and I will see you: tonight. -
There's plenty of RP supergroups out there, and several in game locations where some of the servers RP'ers congregate.
These places are the statue of Galaxy Girl in Galaxy City, behind Freedom Court, but there's not that many there at the moment, because we're making as much use of the Pocket D ski chalet as possible at the moment. People are usually at Galaxy Girl from 9pm UK time, but things to bear in mind is that the text can flow quite fast, things can be missed and it can sometimes be hard to get into conversations.
The next place is Pocket D, either the heroes or villains side bars, or the dancefloor. There are usually people here throughout the evenings in character. Some of the points from above apply here.
There's also sometimes supergroup bases used for RP, other locations in game, or missions, it can be hard to find teams of RP'ers as just pick up groups, so Supergroups are the most likely entry to go for IC mission teaming. -
Hmm, that might be because on the GG thread or Union Recap thread, a new post could either be:
A comment
A recap
An IC story
Waffle
Whereas on the IC Story Thread, you know it's going to be an IC story.
From my own personal opinion, I'm really enjoying it. I can write more little short stories, more fluff, more character development and even branch out into the fields of using images and text, as I have for my latest 2 stories. -
Well, we've had 44 story posts so far, how are people finding it? Is it useful/interesting?

Back when my MA/SR Scrapper Alex Reed still existed, he had an In Character team with the supergroup known as The Vigil. I just always remember one fight in Orenbega, when Alex lept over the group of CoT that his teammates were engaging to keep the Death Mage pinned away from the group so his -acc aura wouldn't come into play.
Now though, my only scrappers are a low level Claws/SR and MA/Regen. Maybe once they're higher leveled can I get some real stories on them. -
Taking a hint from Sis_Kin's post about needing someone to play a parole officer, and my own need for some people to facilitate some plot points in my RP, I decided to post this here thread, where people can post what they need, what'd interest characters into helping (if pre-existing characters can help out with the RP) and how said pre-existing ones would know how to get involved.
So, to start off:
The Snow Princess -
The whistleblowing Paragon Protector, dubbed 'Penny' By Carla 'Equatrix' Lothair (I think I spelt that right) is currently laying unconcious on top of a roof in Kings Row, bloodied and covered in snow. A hero might be out on patrol and come across her, or be on the hunt for the escaped woman who fled from SERAPH and is responsible for the deaths of two Paragon Protectors and one member of the PPD's Awakened Division. Police want her taken alive if possible for questioning, and any heroes that could help with questioning are appriciated as well once she's been caught.
Project SALAMANDER-
If people are in Crey officies, they may find files relating to a series of secret projects, and rumour has it that there is a group of heroes on the look out for such information. If anyone can gather such info (By expressing an interest and PM'ing me so I can give them any info), the heroes involved (Jane Darc, Quantum Seraphim, Dark Stone, Number Nine) would be fairly appriciative. -
Thanks everyone who's helped out with leveling Zortel, or just being there to chat to! Was great fun getting there, and the fun is just going to continue!
Big thanks to the Forumites and GGOOC people for providing entertainment and company, the former Society of the Phoenix supergroup for being my first RP supergroup, the Vigil for my second, the usual GG crowd for keeping me from leveling for so many nights, and to all the friends I've made in game and met out of game too.
Woo! Time for Epicness! And leveling! -
Dark Stone's appartment, Tuesday 19th December 23:37
The door clicked as it closed, the yale lock sliding into place as Jane arrived home. Glancing about, the apartment was dark, not that it mattered to Jane. With a soft muttering, she gained a red-tinted vision into the rooms, and slowly made her way bedroomwards.
Checking in, she smiled as she saw her boyfriends form under the covers, curled up slightly on his side. His rugged, some would even say harsh, features looked noticbly softer as he slept. Sighing lightly, Jane took her hat and jacket off, hanging them up on the door.
"Had some crazy stuff to deal with today, babe. I hate nursing homes, so full of old spirits telling you war stories." Jane whispered quietly as she undressed, each article removed revealing more of her soft, light-grey flesh. "Managed to send on those who needed to though, had a huge spirit build up in that area, was begining to seep over so that the norms could feel their presence."
Sitting on the side of the bed, Jane started to chant quietly, drawing her hands up over her body, a red glow spreading and slowly pulsing over her as she released a spell from her fingertips. "Pretty good thing I was able to convert this spell, hey hun? Roll on summer when I won't be minus freezing when I get in..." Jane grumbled, before stretching up, her bones and joints creaking and popping slightly. "Oooohhhh god... this weather makes me feel like an old woman who didn't drink her milk as a girl." she said, tapping her feet together as she waited for the spell to work.
"You're bloody lucky you know? Seeing as I don't even sleep, you should take it as a big compliment that I spend my nights cuddled up to you." she said, grinning slightly as she glanced over at him. "Still, gives me time to think... and feel too..." she said, before pinching herself in the stomach. "Oh no you don't, Jane. Sans the soppy stuff." she said to herself.
With a long stretch and a sigh, the warm red glow around her slowly faded. "Stick a fork in me, I'm done." she joked to herself, before smirking as her mind turned to something else. "Nah... you need your beauty sleep." she said, shaking her head and climbing under the covers. Snuggling closer, she pressed herself against Jared, her lips lightly brushing against his before she settled down, ready to contemplate the night away. -
Indeed, well done Blackdove!

((This topic is for the currently running player story arc Project SALAMANDER, run by yours truely and Dark_Stone.))
1: It began in Pocket D a week or two ago, when Number Nine chatted to Colie and Sword of Truth about Crey Industries and the location of the original Nadia Forrester. Nene gave the couple the details of Crey's offshore research complex on the Nerva Archapeligo.
2: Number Nine, using her time and space altering abilities, broke into a Crey Biotech research department to use their secure access terminal and search for if they did indeed have Nadia Forrester at the site. Interrupted by alarms, Number Nine activated a dimensional incursion to escape the base, leaving the data accessed on the computer.
3: The cause of the alarm was Guardians of Destiny member Dark Stone, checking up on a tip from his contact. Getting past base security, Jared accessed the computer terminal, which had nearly timed out on its secure connection, and was able to find data on a project Crey had been working on for a year, with notes about an 'unwilling' test subject, but before he could investigate more the connection timed out and died.
4: At Pocket D, a Crey Field agent, Karl Darrens turned up, slightly inhebriated from drinking earlier and muttered about his job and co-workers, and conditions at his workplace. Dark Stone caught glimpses of promising information from Karl's mumbling.
5: Seeking to get the information out of Karl, Dark Stone enlisted the aid of young heroine Elaine Sarkin, who under the disguse of a young villainess named Elena, started to charm the information out of Karl, including details on a project of what Elaine dubbed 'super regeneration', and a case of someone's arm getting cut off and growing back 4 hours later. After flirting the information out of him, Elena used her seductive charm to get Karl to head home and handcuff himself to the bed in wait for her.
6: Once having got the information from Elaine, Dark Stone travelled to Port Oakes to the address given by Karl, to find him suffering a severely broken arm, several bullet holes to the genitals and his eyes removed and placed in a glass of whiskey by the bed. Jared took the glass and left Karl where he laid dead.
7: At that moment, a Crey Killteam consisting of a Paragon Protector, 2 Crisis Units and a trio of Vigilants arrived to dispose of Dark Stone. Fighting back, Jared took down the six and took the PP's mask as proof. A check of them showed they had no forms of ID, betraying their intent as being there solely to kill Jared, and apartment was missing any work related documents. Jared headed back to Pocket D.
8:At Pocket D, Jared explained to Elaine, his girlfriend Jane Darc, Tower of Power, Cogs and Mileena Lim about his findings, and using her unique brand of magic used one of Karl's eyes as a replacement for her own to see what Karl saw in his last moments. They had a face to the name of Doctor Andrea Michaels, the apparently super strong, and definetly vindictive and possessive scientist working on the project.
9: The next day, a Paragon Protector came to Pocket D, with a description and the name of Elena, clashing with Dark Stone and other heroes. Violence almost broke out between the Protector and Jared, the two throwing threats between them before finally, after pressing Pix and Red Commissar for information on Elena, he departed.
10: Vigilant Xhei was at Pocket D the next night, drinking heavily as she mourned for the loss of Karl Darrens, albeit not seriously. She griped about how his stupidity in telling all to a 'tart in spandex' has made hers and others jobs much harder.
11:On Sunday, another Paragon Protector turned up, observing Dark Stone and The Telepath, before asking if anyone knew Elena, saying she had an important message for her. When Jared gave her the address of Karl Darrens' appartment, the woman leaned over and whispered to Jared to meet her at the base of the slope.
12:Meeting up, the Paragon Protector started to speak. When pressed for her reason of why she was helping. It seems she had somehow broken some of the Paragon Protector mental conditioning, enough to the point where she realised should the project be complete, she would be a liability, a lose end. And in Crey, that means you're dead.
The project finally had a name. Project SALAMANDER, part of a series of projects to give Crey-chosen candadates metahuman abilities and subliminal training, as Project Revenant Hero was begining to get too well known among experienced heroes, putting the pressure on Crey. She let Jared know that the operation had moved from the base on Nerva, and that it had been rigged to detonate if Jared and the others arrived. Jared told her that he had Elena placed in The Nexus, and that getting in there would be very difficult, seeing as they lack that much knowledge in the magical realm. The Paragon Protector gave Jared a name as her final piece of information, Andrew Varr.
13: With her information given, she confessed that her methods of scrambling the tracking and survelience bugs in her may not have worked, and Jared offered to take her into protective custordy with Freedom Corps. Just as she was about to accept, it became apparent that she may have been right, or some remains of her subliminal program may have drove her to jump off the slope into the abyss of the Shadow Shard. Jared was able to grab her and cram her into the Nexus, before taking her to Freedom Corps.
((Those who wish to get involved and work on the plot can contact my characters (Jane Darc, Number Nine) or Dark_Stone's (Dark Stone). Possible paths to investigate are:
The name of Andrew Varr.
Talking to the Paragon Protector in Custordy.
Investigating Crey secure terminals to try and get information, with or without assistance.
Information on Dr. Andrea Michaels.
Though if there is something you would like to check up on, a PM or Tell works wonders.)) -
Glitch in the System? Monday 18th December, 23:10
Nene's brand new black heeled shoes clicked on the dancefloor as she headed up to the bar on the 'Heroes' side of Pocket D, her expression its usual stoic, conservative one. Heading to the barman, she placed a folded note down on the table, with twenty dollars tucked inside.
"Excuse me, would you please give this to the heroine known as: Nightsparrow when she next: frequents, and assign the money within to a tab for her?" Nene asked, her eyes focusing slightly on the polite man behind the bar.
"Of course, sure thing... Nene, wasn't it?" he said, taking out a post it note and scribbling a reminder down.
"Yes, I am Nene, and thank you." she said, a hint of sounding pleased slipping into her usually monotone synthesised voice.
"ALright, take care Nene, and see you around." he said, flashing her a smile. With a wave, Nene turned and made her way downstairs to the elevator. That sense of... well, Nene couldn't even define it was still there, and it even -scared- her a little. Or would if her Emotione Emulation Engine was running.
Had she really felt guilt? Really felt upset? That wasn't scheduled for five more versions of her programming, and even then it was just a tenative slot date for developing them. She needed to work on her memory problem more first. Shaking her head, she stepped into the elevator.
"Heyyyyy there gorgeoush... you wanna shnookie under da mistletoe?" a rather burly man slurred, staggering towards her and pressing her to the wall, mistletoe held high above her head. Nene's expression almost, almost looked annoyed, despite no change in her fixed facial features.
"Heyyyy there gorgeoush... you wanna-" the man was back where he was standing again.
"Heyyyy there gorgeoush... you wanna-" with another flicker, he returned to that point as the elevator made its way down, constantly repeating those two seconds until Nene got off the elevator.
"No, I do not." she said, walking off, striding somewhat dangerously through the crowds. The man blinked as the elevator doors closed, a moment of confusion on his face before his cheeks bulged, finding a corner to releave the contents of his stomach.
The barman opened up the note, to find a twenty dollar bill inside. Putting it in the register, he curious glanced at the note. The writing was neat, precise, almsot like it had been printed onto notepad paper, though the blue ink clearly came from a fountain pen.
"Dear Nightsparrow,
I am sorry for any: offence I may have caused you earlier, and wished to: apologise. There is now a: $20 tab for you at the bar, I hope you: enjoy.
It was rude of: me to act like that because you could not: remember my name. I admit I am getting: sensetive about my origins, and my wish to be refered to by: name instead of: species may have adjitated my: tongue, so to speak.
I must admit: I felt... I am uncertain how I felt when you: departed. Perhaps 'guilt' and 'upset', though this would be: confusing, as my: emotion emulation engine was not: online, and it does not usually yield such: responses and 'feelings' from me.
I hope you: enjoyed the remainder of your night. I also hope that: we may talk more civilly, without me making a 'fool' out of myself.
Kindest Regards,
Nene Ninnezt, DATA Rikti Translation Unit."
The barman blinked, carefully folding the letter up and tucking it besides the till, ready to give to its intended recepient. -
Nene will be there, with money for drinks, conversation topics and perhaps offers of dances?
May be other characters turning up too. -
I'd say that my MA/DA scrapper Isaac Anderson shows more skin off than any of my female characters...
but that wouldn't surprise anyone. Would it, ShadowGhost? -
Sometimes skin showing works for some characters, other times it doesn't.
As for my own charactes, it#s pretty much the same. Some of them wear more revealing clothes, and some of them don't. It depends on their personality and background. -

The clever costumes I've seen in the game have all been fully clothed (Zortel's Cauter, for example).

GIFT, FBSA Training Office, Galaxy City, Friday December 15th 12:30pm
"And that's everything you'll need to do for your physical, Miss Rolando, or do you prefer Fusebox?" Doctor Engles said, folding his notes away into a A4 jacket.
Hannah nodded, rubbing at her arm a little where she had just had some blood samples taken. "Seems pretty easy to me, and Fusebox or Hannah is fine." she said with a smile.
"Very well, Hannah, you have fifteen minutes in the simulation, do what you can to the best of your abilities." The doctor smiled, leading her to the doorway into the simulation chambers. Hannah grinned, sliding her sunglasses down from her forehead. This was going to be a cake walk.
Stepping into the chamber, a replica of a district of Steel Canyon, she rubbed her fingers together, static crackling off her hands as she tapped into her internal abilities.
Five
Simulant bots teleported in, their holoshells activating to resemble random civilians.
Four
Several more sets of simulant bots arrived, their apperance changing to that of the bedragled members of The Lost.
Three
Warning sirens bellowed out as the chamber entered lockdown mode. Hannah's eyes darted around, taking in the situation.
Two
The simulant civilians started to flee and cower in terror. Hannah clenched her fists, her body tingling as she rose off the floor.
One
Another set of warning sirens sounded as the training weapons teleported into the enemies hands, triggering their attack on the section of the model city.
Zero
With a crack of thunder, Hannah sped forward into battle, lightning crackling around her fists as she prepared to lash out.
---------------
"Well Hannah, you passed with flying colours. Your total score was 91%." Doctor Engles said with a smile, congratulating the blue-haired teen. "I'll just get these uploaded into the database, and you'll be fully reinstated as a hero."
Hannan stood up and shook the doctor's hand. "Thanks Doctor, oh, that sign up on the notice board... think I could get an application?" Hannah asked with a smile. -
You stole Fusebox's Thunder Strike?
No worries, I ended up away from the PC watching TV with my friend, then work. -
As I've noticed (and done myself), some of us have been posting up IC posts (Like Nene going clothes shopping, or Shadowe's little jaunt to the sun, et cetra) in the Union Recap or GG thread. Now, I find these little posts quite fun, because one: it gives me a chance to write and two: it lets me develop stuff and plot away from the statue, with possible oppertunities for people to join in.
What'd people say to a thread where they could post these things? Still keeping GG/Union for recaps and the like and IC posts when needed, but a seperate thread for all those little flavour updates.
