Wait... we can pay with Paypal?
I didn't see the option in the billing page.
I've been trying to subscribe to CoH EU but living in the US my bank won't allow the credit card transaction. So I had to purchase a EU gamecard from an online dealer.
If I can get Paypal going, I'll be set.

because its at the bottom? -
I'm not sure if it is to do with COH or paypal, but has any else had any problems paying for game time with paypal? I just tried paying for 3 months, and each time i tried (4) it said there was an error.
I don't see how it can be much to do with paypal (never had any problems before) and before people ask the obvious. Yes the fund are in my account too.
Anyone else had these sort of problems?
I do have until the 29th to fix it however -

Wouldn't this encourage armies of fire/kin destruction to farm merits, then transfer them to less efficient but more interesting characters? (I realise there's a lot of irony that this might occur but I have no doubt whatsoever that it would)
[/ QUOTE ]
fire/kins are one the least usefull ATs to farm merits.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've been in 8 man fire/kin TFs. We've all split and run around the map and do the TFs incredily quickly. It could easily be farmed by them. It could also be open to abuse my doing say the Croatoa TF of multiple charactors once a day. This is why i added the "it should be limited" to it.
[/ QUOTE ]
An 8 man team farming say the ITF can probs after practice do it in about 30 - 40 minutes MAX. Now thats a team thats practiced it and took a while to do it for a total of 25 (or is it 27 now, cant remember) merits.
I can personally get 30/40 merits an hour solo, in a team that got "shown the way" also, im certain it could EASILY get trippled.
Though obviously there is a huge debate about what is the best way to get merits quicker, some people believe taskforces are the fastest way whereas others (myself included) look at the other options
Edit: Now not to say your method could indeed be faster, however the time it takes to set up + risk taken into account, i'ld honestly have to say tf farms are not the best option (my personal opinion).
Edit2: Also have to take into consideration DR on merit rewards via taskforces which gives the other options the victory! ^_^
[/ QUOTE ]
I am guessing you have misread the point of my post. My post isn't about whether 8 man fire/kin teams are the fastest at getting merits or not. They may be, the may not be that is totally un-importanted.
The point of the post was to re-instate the fact that i pointed out in the first post, having the suggestion that i made would be open to abuse. And that is why i said that a daily limiter should be in place.
I do not mind which chars get the merits as such, i do around 3 TFs a day usually so within a week i've earnt enough merits on each char to buy what i want and then trade it. I just think it should be good to have a system to allow trading between our own charactors. (Side dependant, Heroes still can't give to Villians and vice-versa) -

[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure after reading that. I already have all of those badges. And my mission was only rated about 120 times. I would have thought they would have removed them to be earned properly. Too much of a fuss would be kicked up. -
I'll be up for giving something like this a try, i've ever done anything like this before so i'm happy too.
I would be free from 5:00pm BST onwards everyday apart from friday and saturday.
Sundays will be a possibility for now as depending on how this weekends Hamidon Raid goes i may be organising more on that day. -
This post is aimed around the merits that TF's give as a reward. My suggestion is that we are able to trade merits between our own charactors only?
You definitly shouldn't be allowed to trade between other people. But i think you should be able to trade them between your own charactors on that account. Maybe you can put them in a bank thats in Galaxy city, and then return with any of your other charactors to claim them?
The reason i say this is because the main way of earning them is by doing the TFs and that means you need to do that TF on the char you want to earn it on. Sometimes team make up means that isn't possible, you need to switch, and now you have 24 merits on an empath thats never gonna use them. I think as the TF was completed by him, he should be able to use the reward on any char he wants.
As this can be a little open to abuse, i think maybe you should limit the merits allowed to be banked or claimed a day.
Any feedback about this idea? And has it been suggested before? If it has and you link me, i'll then delete this post. -

I may just do that at some point. It'll have to be on the saturday however due to the lasting time, if thats okay with you. If just one person has the TP team, it'll make fast rezzing very quick when we all die! (which we will at 75%, 50% and 25%) -
Thank you. One question, that i want as many buffers/rezzers to answer. Have you ever done the steel canyonn safegaurd mission on the char you'll be using in the raid??
It'll make the Tping stages go so much quicker.
If not i am happy to arrange repeats of this on saturday and again at sunday lunchtime. -

Chances are my way will be a little different, but there is alot of stuff from their that i had already planned on using. Most of the stuff on that post you already know after doing just one hammi raid.
I do thank you however for posting it and i would advise people who have never done a raid before the read that link. It will help you alot. -
Glad your able to join Xem.
I am making a second post in this just to add a few things, i do not want to clog up the first post.
1.) Please don't turn up with a costume having a cape or an aura. This event will cause alot of lag and removing the cape an aura helps a great deal.
2.) If you are a kin, you are pretty much banned from using Fulcrum Shift
3.) Hammi does special damage, and none of your sheilds will work agaisnt him. The only toggles you really need to be using are those of a travel power and mez protection, for example unyielding.
4.) It is very strongly advised to have your graphics set to minimum for this event.
5.) Only 50 people can enter the hive. It is then first come first served i am afraid. For this reason if you die, i would reccomand waiting for one of the many healers to rez you.
6.) Everyone will need to have fly for this event. If you do not have fly there are ways to get a jet pack which is the same as fly. Firstly you can buy one from the games online store. This is quite cheap and it will last for a whole month. Seconly you can buy one from Firebase Zulu. This was last for 2 hours (usuage time) and only costs 10k. Finally you can get one from the Atlas park bank mission.
As everyone needs to be 45+ and FBZ is 40+ there'll be no excuse to not have fly. 10k is nothing on a level 45+ so i'm sure everyone can afford to buy one for the event -
Okay well as alot of people know, the hammi raid done today didn't go to plan. This was probably down to the short notice, the lack of EoE's, the build up of teams, the lack of organisation once there and the lack of control over the whole thing.
So i propose that I'll run one this time. This will be on the 24th May at 4:00pm GMT. We will meet just inside the hive at 3:45pm and arrange teams before doing anything else. I'll like alot to be arranged before that day however.
EoE gathering WILL take place on Friday and Saturday, however anyone is welcome to arrange their own teams to gather EoE during their own time. If you would like a place where your EoE is safe, you are welcome to pass them to me and i'll store them in my SG base. Me and my girlfriend are the only people in this SG so they are more than safe. If you choose to do so, your global and the amount of EoE you have given me will be jotted down, and they will be returned to you between 3:00-3:30pm on the Sunday.
The general make up of each team will be as follows;
Yellow teams : 1 Tanker, 1 Healer/Buffer, 6 Meele based.
Blue teams : 1 Tanker, 1 Healer/Buffer, 6 Blasters
Green teams : 1 Tanker, the rest as Controllers and Defenders.
There will also be another team (depending on numbers) with 4 Tankers and 4 Healers in. This team will take as much agro as possible while varies stages are being taken out.
If you'd like to take part, it would help a great deal if you was to reply to this post with your AT, Level, and Primary/Secondary. This means i may be able to organise some teams in advance.
Please note that you need to be 45+ to enter.
Also feel free to ask any questions.
Edit : Fixed some spelling and grammar mistakes. -

Ok take for example a level 50 IO, they cost roughly just under 500k to craft correct? And MOST bronze rolls only take 3/4 salvages to craft.
So at the MOST it costs no more than 600k to craft. If you look at the market at enhancements now, a lot of them still sells for at least 1 million. Thats a minimum of 400k profit, obviously if you just go build one/two then it could be seen as a waste of time.
If however you save up your tickets and get a recipe tray full of them . . . . then you could quite easily make a huge profit in a short amount of time without taking into account the "good" drops.
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay a way that i have made several hundered million is
I buy a purple recipie, craft it, and put it back on relating to the previous bids of the enhancements. Sometimes the minute its taken me to do that has made me 10-20 million if profit
I do that with non purples too, but it all depends on many factors
1.) how much the recipie will cost
2.) how many are for sale
3.) how much the salavge costs
4.) how many people are bidding for the enhancment
5.) what the bidding history is like to estimate the profit -

You'll have to contact @O.J for that mate
He is the one organising this all, he only asked me to post on the forums.
I'm not sure if an EoE team will be run, but i get the general idea that we'll get as many people to show up as we can, and then take it from there
If we fail, well its for a laugh anyway
If we do it, we will all be awesome as we did it with little planning and little time. -
As it says in the title basically. Probably the most stupid crazy idea ever trying to organise one in less than 4 hours but oh well
If anyone would like to join in (for a fun challange more than anything)
Please post here with your level and AT. I'll then let the raid organiser know. Thanks -
I'd like to join if wanted
I can either be an Empath (for none MOSTF runs i have Vengance)
Or a Fire/kin controller
I have a 50 tanker too, but i won't put that down as one is already confirmed -

It was made obvious extremely quickly that you don't agree with any of these ideas. Thats fine, there will always be good idea's and bad ideas. These were obviously some of the bad ones...
I do not however need anyone putting anybody down, calling their suggestions pointless or anything else. None of the suggestions are pointless as their is a reason for every suggestion made (whether they are good or bad)
So i would kindly ask for you to get off of your high horse and just say they are a bad idea, instead of calling the post pointless.
Thanks -

Okay i was thinking about ways to stop farming (level wise, inf in my opinion isn't bad at all) and maybe this could work.
You no longer get xp from people 7 level highers than you? whether you are SKed or not. (not taken into consideration of ranks, i mean actually levels, a lvl 45 should still get xp from a 52 boss for example.
So a level 10 Sked to 49 won't get xp from a 52. It'll stop powerleveling nearly straight away and the impact isn't that harsh on other people. -
...And i play on:
lets get some life back into the defiant heroes section, and hopefully meet some new people to team with along the way, i'll start..
I play on:
Hey Hottie : 50 Fire/Kin controller
Hey Farmer : 50 Fire/Kin controller
Hey Horny : 50 Invun/Energy tanker
Hey Blaster : 50 Fire/Fire blaster
Hey Doc : 50 Empathy/Elec defender (pure empath)
Mr. Whitlock : 33 Illusion/Rad controller (duo with fiance)
Hey Man : 07 BroadSword/Shield scrapper (solo toon)
Mr Whitlock : 06 Spines/WP scrapper (duo with fiance)
they are all my current hero side toons
what are yours?
what's your favourite?
what's your least favourite?
Or just talk about anything to do with your heroes to keep this Defaint Heroes alive -

People farm on MA now? MA is a good way to get Level 50 quick? How's that?
I got blind invited into an MA farming team once (I didn't knwo it was MA farming, I left after we finished the mission) and I can't understand how people can farm it after the nerfs. The xp was nothing extraordinary, and you don't get xp for completing the mission. Now I cannot understand how someone could powerlevel on it. I play at a VERY slow and leisurely pace, and I think that in that mission, I think I had the worst xp/hour ratio I have ever had before (excluding times when I've racked up a bajillion debt, because I was still getting xp, I just wasn't taking all of it).
Could someone explain to me how this could possibly be farmed after the nerfs?
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay sure.
1stly a glowie was put into a mission. Clicking the glowie would complete the mission.
Secondly an AV was put into the mission, Req or Vanessa (48-52) and would spawn from the glowie objective being completed so you never have to face it.
This is part 1, and this part would mean that everybody below level 46 was auto Sked to level 46.
The mission was then all custom enimies, these varied alot and i haven't tried them all so i'll just explain mine.
Mine was all luits (there would never be a boss or minion whether there were 3 people in the team or 8)
The luits were all DB/Regen set to standard. This would mean it only had the 2 weaky rubbish attacks (leathal damage, wouldn't scratch my controller) and the regen had nothing in the way of defence at standard.
2 fire/kins would then clear the whole map, this would take around 4 mins. In that time a level 1 had now got to 12-14.
Rinse and repeat. Yes its been nurfed a tiny bit now (i don't know if more recent has happened, not done this in about 3 days now) but still no match, and could still easy get from 1-50 in 4-6 hours depending on the quality of the 2 fire/kins.
AutoSk meant no-one had to move from the door.
Hope that helped you understand, and it probably wasn't the best idea explaining on the forums in case people tried it, but you asked. -

Heyman : Yeah sure

X : What zone are you in?
Heyman : Peregrine Island....
X : How do i get there?
Heyman : Through Ouroborus is the quickest way
X : Whats that?
Heyman (now quite angry as it becaome obvious he mostly powerlevled in MA): Okay scrap that, go through steel canyonn and then to talos island and take the ferry.
X: Umm, how to i get to Steel?
Heyman : Have you ever left atlas park??
X: No
*X has been kicked from your team*

And this is making the situation better how? This guy, who is most probably on his first toon, will not be encouraged to team outside of the MA if thats how people treat him. You would have been better to have encouraged him and shown him how to get there, explained the benefits of regular missions etc, so that he learns for his next toon and in encouraged to stick around a little.

7) Sure, if you want to kill the feature they spent 1 and a half issues making stone dead.
I'd be for removing Inf rewards, they make no logical sense, and removing the MA from all zones less than level 10.
[/ QUOTE ]
The main problem isn't the influence though. Its people starting to play COH and getting to level 50 within a couple of days. Even with all of what Posi has said about it, people still farm it, and the new players that came and farmed to 50 are still here, still not knowing about the game and not really doing much.
[/ QUOTE ]
Personally (and I've been in Atlas as a newbie this week and Cap soloing Ma Missions) I've noticed a dramatic drop-off in farming since the Comms Officers patch.
Either way I'm pretty sure that making the MA a worthless dinosaur that few people bother with is not the way to go.
I'd be happy with XP Caps on missions in there rather than no XP. I like running random MA missions on my Brute solo. If the XP was removed totally I'd completely abandon the feature, as would the vast majority of players. Meaning Arc Writers would get even more frustrated that no-one was bothering with their arcs (or just Hall of Fame ones if they still gave XP. And if that WAS the case you'd see a whole raft of other problems with Writers getting frustrated because no-one bothered with their "rewardless" arcs and a lot more Rating Cartels as people tried to leverage their arcs into the Hall of Fame).
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay maybe that is a better idea. I'm turning into a dev where i am seeing a problem so wanting to totally destroy that part of the game for everyone.
*snaps out of it*
But for now the problem still stands, new players with completely powerleved 50 haven't lost access to them. (yes they were completely powerlevled, i've seen people with AE badges, Thrill seeker badge, and an infulence badge or 2 and thats all)
This is why something needs to be done, and although many different things have been mentioned about it, i thought i would include it in this thread as this thread was mainly suggestions invovled with the games economy
