The biggest problem I can see is, if you fill the mission with patrols and environmental hazards, how are you going to prevent enemy groups from going into the environmental hazards and either weakening or outright killing themselves? Probably the best solution as I see it is to just make whatever power effects the environmental hazards activate have an attached afraid effect to "encourage" critters to get out of it if they do find themselves in it.
[/ QUOTE ]
A built in fear effect sounds good. Another idea is to give the effects the ability to be set to either an Enemy or Rogue faction so that enemies will be immune. -

That is why I ask if I can work on it locally.

Just tested and it's a "No" unless I missed an option. At best, you could copy/paste long test fields. Thus, we officially need some form of "Upload Changes" button amongst the "Republish and Play" button sets. -
I don't think you can. I'll try later on with a dummy arc to test since I have space available.
-
I'll throw in this question in case you get a chance to check:

Defendable Objects: Do enemies more actively attack the object so you are actually forced to actively defend it or do they just "punch once and ignore" like they do now? Likewise, does the ambush that is attached to the objective acknowledge the object at all or do they just go straight towards you like they do now? Finally, is there any way to make defeating the auto ambush for the Defendable as part of the objective's goals or is it still just the few initial enemies that count?

On the "Custom" setting you can remove powers that are there on Standard.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nice. I had heard that we could only add powers but not take them away. If so, MMs can remove pets and just have the Laser Rifle/Dual Pistol sets -
[ QUOTE ]
"Look for clues" I don't like. Nothing screams at the player (I play without sound, so that's literally true). If you really set up the mission as being a detective story - I might by it. But for general superheroes it just feels both bland and out of place.
[/ QUOTE ]
Since objectives can be chain linked, it might be an intriguing concept to make the "clue" vague, purposely set up an Ally/Escort, and then make the NPC reveal more of the plot. -

I'm a bit dissapointed by the faces. They're nice, but they're so.....expressionless.

Issue 15 is Serious Business. -
I may not make full redos but I do intend on making some tweaks to the one I have out. However, I think that the one I'm trying to work on right now will better benefit from the changes.
-
Hmm, must be someone else's Stalker mission since I see one up. No problem. I'll check out yours if you get a chance to republish.
-
Adding this would be nice. It would also be cool to see the FrostFire map added to MA.
-
[ QUOTE ]
I even started working an arc that was ment to train stalkers but I got it on hold until I see where they are going with this ticket cap thing.
[/ QUOTE ]
That was you? Interesting. Granted, I was an idiot and tested it out with a Blaster (and died promptly) but when I get some time I'll have to test it the right way. -
[ QUOTE ]
Diminishing returns would kill MA. This is a stinker of an idea. I'm as anti-farmer as it gets, but even I would balk at doing more than one or three MA missions, just one arc tops, if there were diminishing returns. My arc is five missions long. By the time someone was on the last mission they would be getting only 80% tickets?
[/ QUOTE ]
The concept was for diminishing returns to be on a per arc basis, not a per mission basis (which WOULD be stupid since longer arcs suffer enough as it is). You would have to play the entire arc (or start the arc and quit) before DR would ever kick in. Even then, it would only be for repeating that exact same arc within a time period. -
Does the story have to be prose or can it be in a poetic form?
-
Is there any way to simply make enemies more prone to attack the actual object? I've been testing a Defendable and the enemies tend to target me more than the object (a "getaway car" in this situation). They punch it once and then hunt me down. If I get out of the non-ambush enemy's line of sight, they just go back and do nothing. Barring that, I might be forced to create customs with high damage AOEs to increase the chance of the object getting destroyed.

Difficulty Level: Medium. Fluctuates a bit based on where certain enemies spawn and in which amounts.

Designed as a final for one of my courses in the Simulation & Game Development curriculum, it is a character story done in a way to put the player's character in a role that would have otherwise went to the character Chocolate Rage.
Feedback gladly appreciated.

Made a few changes so I'd like to see people's opinions. -
A hard cap will cause problems instead of fixing them. Instead, there needs to be a system of diminishing returns per arc. First run is the full 100% reward, second run is 90%, the third is 80%, etc. It allows players to play as many different arcs as they want and even replay the same arc a couple of times and get a decent reward. Some farming is still allowed and farmers can get to be open about it while exploits (which should be stopped anyway) are only capable of being so good since the rewards drop over time.

You really, honestly think this is a one star arc? REALLY? It sounds like you're being insanely petty and have an axe to grind, to be honest. That or you're purposely picking a high-profile arc and 1-starring it to try and 'prove' there's no ratings griefing going on, I think, based on my experiences with the average quality of MA arcs in general. Think about it:
Given the literally tens of thousands of missions that are blatant farms, brokenly unplayable, filled with typos or are written by illiterates, outright inappropriate, don't even HAVE text or contacts, are just a stock NPC with all text being 'meow', have blatantly untested NPCs, have a plot as deep, literally, as 'There's a guy here beat him up I dunno lol!' etc. etc. etc... you still feel that the arc, which if nothing else has carefully selected maps, well-written, intelligent dialog, a good sense of humor and adventure, a coherent plot, and nice-looking custom enemies, and a unique gimmick I've seen literally nowhere else...deserves the lowest possible 'normal' rating? Really? I'm interested in hearing why you feel that the arc is on the same level as the absolute filth and dregs of the MA. Have you even PLAYED other MA arcs? I don't want to sound fanboyish here, (I'm not even on the same server as Geek,) but seriously, even if you hated the plot and the NPCs, you put it on the same tier as the worst of the worst in the game? Come on now.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think it belongs in the same tier as the worst of the worst; the dregs of the MA, as you put it, are the ones I feel deserve 0 Stars.
Do I believe Speeding Through Time deserves 1 Star? Yes, I do. I didn't enjoy myself, felt my character had no impact on events, and didn't feel the plot was particularly well thought out or implemented. If an arc is combat-based, I want to have fun and be challenged while serving a vital role in the plot. If it's story based, I look for a well-defined plot and theme with good execution. I felt this arc lacked both.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think it's just a difference in views. You are more than entitled to rate the arc at 1 star since you actually played throught the full thing and disliked it. Thing is, many of us consider 1 star to be the dregs, 2 stars to be something we disliked/thought could be done better, and 0 stars simply aren't even valid. Your critique is what makes it stand out and as a game you've made a valid point of noting that even if there is an important backstory, the player should always be involved. I haven't played GeekBoy's arc to compare but it's something I was careful of with mine since it was intended as being centered around one of my heroes but that character is never mentioned directly since I put the player in that role. -

This month will be hosting "Through the Ages" which will have contestants fighting at various levels.

When you say "this month" do you mean May (which would be tonight) or June (starting next week)? -

I'd LOVE to have it where a zero and one star force commentary
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd love it if zero stars didn't exist. From a review standpoint, they make no sense. Star ratings are always from 1 to 5, not 0-5 and the WAY you have to do it feels like a glitch (clicking a rating and then unclicking it). From a math standpoint, it's very uneven since it makes it vastly easier to tank an arc than promote one.
Plus, imagine what would happen if all zero rating were instantly nullified/ignored/cleared from the system... -
Wasn't there a thread around here somewhere for posting maps with bad or at least strange spawn points for the devs to fix? If not, I wanted to note that one of the Wall collection spawn points for the Unique -> First National Bank 03 spawns on a door. In fact, as a two story map, I thought they would have been upstairs since there's spots that looked like they were there for that purpose. It's also odd that so far, none of the bank maps spawn the Back collection item inside the actual vault. I can understand not having access to the vault door but sticking the spawn point outside seemed strange.

What all types of events are usually run? I'm new to the game so I'm trying to experience several things.
Plus, I hope there's a remedy for never finding anyone to help with Mayhem missions. -
So...how do these work? Is this Arena or one of the PvP zones? I'm new to the game (highest character is level 14) and while I may not wind up a PvP regular, I am curious. While a class project with the MA brought me to the game, I'm trying to experience a little bit of everything.

I've been wanting to try PvP but the Arena was dead when I checked and I haven't been to one of the official zones yet. It's possible that my server (Victory) may also be part of the problem.

I'd like to see this. That, or some sort of pitch control so we have minor tweaks to the current voices.
