  1. Well they CAN also see all your bonuses from sets, too. From that it can be inferred if you've got higher rarity or cooler stuff.

And if you get tired of your current costume, you can change it at a Tailor *nods* plus, you can unlock more costume slots at 20, 30 and 40, and there is also one that can be unlocked at any time with a special kind of salvage. You can have up to 5 slots per character, so you can change costumes on a whim >.> some people are clothes horses...

Some people have the Clothes Horse badge from halloween.
  3. Have you gotten in the game at all yet or are you still downloading?

I'm on Protector, you could scoot down there and check out some of our activities. I think you JUST missed our "new player welcoming night" event ... :/

The point behind our costuming system is that you DON'T customize with things that get dropped, you CAN'T actually - except that there are rare costume recipes for things like rocket-style boots, fancy wings and the like.

Those things *do not* give you powers of jumping or flight - your powers and your appearance *are not connected in any way*.

    Very different game
  4. I'd suggest light greys/silvers with black trim, perhaps a looser face detail (+goggles?), perhaps a theme of "fading" into the darkness, use the blend pattern?

Silent doesn't have to mean "gonna pound everything and plant a flag in its butt when I'm done" and bold colors (and a chest detail) kinda imply that. Silent Sentinel I dunno, I think it sounds more sneaky/careful/observant to me, like you won't know what hit you and when you look it's just a shadow passing on the street.
  5. We don't have loot.

Well, we DO, but it's not loot that others can steal, which is awesome.

This game is VERY different from the "must-have must-do" style of WoW.

The game starts being fun at level 1, (or actually, before, in the character creator) and continues being fun for as long as you're not bored to tears by it.

You don't HAVE to have every cool drop, though there are some nice things in the game to get.

Costumery does not equal status, it merely makes you look good. You don't have to look, play, or mod your character just like everyone else to be having fun.

you don't have to have a "perfect team" to do anything. All archetypes can solo (some slower than others, but all CAN).

... In short, check my reg date? That's when I started playing and I'm on almost daily in that whole time. So....

Relax! Grab some cookies and juice, or a sammich and beer, or even some cheese and wine, depending on your server choice, and have some fun!

    Drive-by Buffers

    But...

How would we have jumping parties without inertial reduction?
  7. Oh very much yes.

Cohort, we've got so many ideas. So many options. And, most of us are likely hoarders of some kind (I know I am) and so "throwing out" / deleting a toon is just... out of the question.

I've got 14 toons on Protector all at least level 12 now, and eventually when there's another free weekend I'll be probably deleting some off other unpaid accounts and recreating them there just so I can *play* them.

And, your avatar is going to give someone a siezure. You want that, don't you...

    Tagging and import/export support?

Does this game have anything that requires such things?

Just wondering... because we've got a 5+ year old community right here with everything that this could offer, already.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Forums not controlled by ncsoft are a distinct plus.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    As Zombie said.

If the rules are too hard to follow, or you want some other items to talk about, there are already plentiful other forums to use.

I come here to use the City of Heroes forums as is: about COH and its near associations.

I go to my dragon website forums to talk about dragons and art.

I go to the Steam forums to plug City and talk about Half Life.

    So...

Yeah, I come here for my City news and discussion, not to berate moderators or devs and not to pick political fights or whatever else is found on those ubiquitous other forums.
  9. My toon uses her vivid imagination.

hehehe okay in version 2.0 of that character she DOES learn magic, and DOES have tech to support it. But... we can't combine origins either, so moot point.
  10. Considering that the ONLY restrictions on our current travel powers are level and some suppression during combat, none of the restrictions that vehicles would *require* be brought into the game to make it look even remotely not stupid seem equitable. Why would anyone *choose* to take a vehicle power pool if they could not do ANY of the things that are already available with the other travel abilities?

It would *not* allow transport where obvious terrain problems would occur.
-- Or you want to put a jump pack on a car?

It could *not* be visually appealing *and still behave like a car* - if you have a car that flies, that's fine. But that introduces a huge number of new things for collision cylinders, targeting, can you target someone's vehicle?

Why not just *take the tram* and be done with it?
  11. Ah, yeah that makes sense. Just never heard of it in use for this kind of game.
  12. >_> Honestly, I have everything I need right here. The COH forums for me have been a second home for 5 years, so... Right now the Titan system covers many other aspects.

I'm not sure what "tagging" is supposed to be? Never heard of it.
  13. My natural hero is a teleporter... >_> Not a mutant, not magical, not tech... just... she does it. *shrug*

  15. Hehehehe.

*victory*. Now, along with bill's cut and pastes, my geek picture will be spread by the minions!

    Costume creator?

    >_>

reading comprehension for the win, eh?

Still, I'm reminded OF the Freedom Force sites that were shut down because they were making rips of copyrighted things. It would just take so much more effort to work with this kind of thing. I'd rather see one or two of the forum goers here who have skills we can all admire, suggest a few things to them or get hired to do it professionally.

Good as he is, Jay (though sexy) is understaffed and overworked. But ... allowing anyone else to put stuff into the generator on OR off line would be mostly a mistake.
  17. Wait, wait, does that mean you're farming LOTHIC?
  18. No no one wants to rehash yet another farming in the MA thread. It's already been done dozens of times. Seriously this thread shouldn't continue, but hey, it's up to mod8. I think sometimes he gets a chuckle out of it. And sometimes, I suspect he would like to ban everyone from posting ever again.

not a marketer. An Actor. which probably makes more sense to how you might perceive me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yes, yes it does.

And "not to be" insulting or petty but, dude, you're a jerk and an idiot.

And of course I speak like this all the time. Maybe you haven't been on the forums long enough to know me. There's a reason why 3 people have my words in their siggies, because I like to point out stupidity and false statements as they should be. I like to point and laugh at the monkeys. Monkeys should not be allowed to use computers.
  20. So... have you actually spoken TO the devs, as in in person?

Because I have, and asked them many, many questions.

The point being: you don't know what is possible. The rest of us *do*. You're just unable or unwilling to accept that.
  21. [ QUOTE ]

Then you should have posted in Forum Games.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Zing.
  22. "Provocative" and "trolling" ARE pretty much one in the same on forums. I believe you know that.

And, as I said, "no" to the ideas expressed as well. But more, "no" because this is not really a "suggestion" but more a rant.
  23. >_> You didn't use a number 4 in there.

They're not "perceived" limitations, they're "actual" limitations. The reason we're saying a consistant "no" to the ideas you've expressed is because many of us have already SEEN the arguments and seen redname posts about it.

What you want is not possible with the engine we have. It's pretty much that simple.

In order to put in almost any of your suggestions, the engine would have to be changed so much that who knows what else would go wrong with the rest of the game.

    Costume creator?

Given the way that people in the game break the eula, I can't see them following the rules if they had to go through another hoop to see their work.

Best just to use the ingame stuff, or heck learn to demoedit and run without 'actually' playing.

I mean, like I said, I'd pay 50 bucks for a fully updated costume / character generator which could show emotes and attacks. I'd LOVE it.

But ... it's just not likely to ever happen because of the eula aspects. I spoke with Brian the head guy at last year's comic con, and he pretty much admitted it wouldn't be likely.
