Well, while I can't really argue that it'd be an interesting thing for the game, the greatest part about my experience here is that each character goes through the history of the city, with themselves as the main character.

To have that taken away, or even chunks of history removed and permanently altered by other players, would be ... well, sad, I guess.

I would like to have a zone where such things were the norm, but I just don't know about having the *whole* of the world's stories up for grabs in any way.

I'd love for some of the better written MA arcs to be incorporated into game lore, however, that would be awesome.

I'd like one at 50, at least. 6 costume slots is acceptable, though you know... I'd use 10, or 15....

I heartily agree. I don't respec much but my god I've messed up builds doing it several times.

What about when you have to hunt Circle of Thorns in Kings Row - when they come out pretty much at night? Or the Banished Pantheon for badge accolades?

The day/night schedule is just fine, I play to get away from the real world outside. Plus: whose midnight in what time zone?

This isn't possible with the cylinder restrictions. It would only be an animation, not a real citizen or object. Nothing touches anything in this game, because of the engine limitations. While I don't disagree, I think it'd be cool, I don't think it's actually possible in the game engine.

Imagine the Rikti Invasions. We've got the lag, already. A lot of newcomers are turned off by such things, because it isn't an impression of how the zone *normally is*. Plus, giant monsters + level 1's + no vetran status + massive lag = too overwhelming to continue for a while. Some folks DO think it's fun - but there are others who won't know what to do, while trying to figure out their powers, leveling up, etc. So, no gm's in Atlas or Galaxy or Mercy please. It's just fine the way it is with extremely rare moments of invasion.

So you know, the login screen can be changed using Leandro's program - search on the wiki for it.

Champions and DC online still, to me, don't even compare visually to the richness of this game. They're too bright and bloom-y, cartoony in a way that a lot of players here dislike. Just because they're coming out does not mean it's time to dramatically alter anything in this game. Plus, this game is still playable by lower-end machines, but with a great flexibility for upper level rigs to enjoy.

Anyway, some good ideas, but also you might want to search and read up in the paragonwiki about things.

Are you sure that the waypoint isn't leading you to the detectives in the Zone? Because whenever you enter a zone for the first time, it switches to them.

Open your map, and read it carefully - make sure you have the ZONE map open, not the CITY version - and use it to make a waypoint.

Where did you *enter* the zone? Through which other zone?

Oh man I had come up with something recently and now I forget what it was ... Presumably you've added "looking for MA farm"?

So I was farting around on Test tonight making my Cat People contest entry, and I decided to just start clicking Random in the character generator.

There were some hilarious results.

So: let's share! Of the however-many-gazillion combinations of costume options and colors, how many are actually useful? Probably more than you'd think, and with a little tweaking some of these might even be workable.

On with the show!

The good!
-- I think this one, a kind of street-fighterish ex-military type, is among the nicest random bits I've rolled.

-- A Ranger In Green elfy hunter guy.

-- Scary Grey Undead-Alien invader?

-- Night Elf, anyone?

-- Maybe if the colors weren't clashy, this Martial Artist/Mage-y type would be workable.

-- I was getting a lot of that purple/green purple/whatever scheme. This guy's still not someone I'd want to mess with.

-- In keeping with the purple/whatever theme, I kind of like the circuitry over unrefined ore idea.

I'm still listening to kjsr, since it caters to City of Heroes only, and is stuffed to the brim with Protectorite dj's.

Not really, that I can think of. There are ways to do it, but I can't remember the names of any of the pieces. I think the closest would be one of the "full masks" options that kinda look like the Flash's little head things, done in the same color as the mask.

I create characters like crazy. I enjoy all of them, I just don't always level them in favor of another couple dings elsewhere.
