could it just be a case of the new keyboard "stupid fingers"? especially since you can't see what you're typing in the password field, that seems like the most obvious answer.

I've had the same keyboard for two years now, and I still get hit with mild bouts of stupid fingers. that wasn't meant as an insult in any way.
Are you running COH in windowed mode maybe, and it's not clicked to be active?
Is this happening *all the time* or just infrequently?

Sometimes tabbing to the password field does nothing. Click on the field and make sure you have a blinking cursor before typing.
