Actually, normally a red name shows up and asks us for the detailed reports...strangely they are absent on this.

This most closely resembles my experience as well. The screen flashes black. I have a theory that it's only happening in the heavily populated areas, but I haven't really paid attention to it enough to be sure.

    I run:
    Win XP
Intel Dual Core...forget the speed, but I THINK it's 2.0 ghz
    2GB Ram (with heat sinks)
1gb Geoforce 9044 GT Solid State card

At this point I'm more convinced that Snow Globe has less ignorance than others here. The points on codes is totally correct, and if certain people unstood what it takes to write true scripts for gaming (or applications) they would understand the point as well.

However, it seems most people do their best to cover ignorance by hurling insults or hinting that the other side is lacking "facts".

Define "shared". There have been countless incidents where heroes and villains have teamed up on a short-term basis. This would be consistent with allowing base access while teamed.
Yes, a hero and a villain have teamed up in comics...but that is rare, and they almost NEVER shared a base of operations, except when confronting planetwide threats or greater.

(such as infinity gauntlet or such)

Here's the thing though. Most of the people that frequented this website before the game came out know that the genre for this game is very picky.

True, to a few, this is just a game.

But to the majority of CoX players, this is the fullfilment of the desire to play within a specific genre that before this game came out, was almost non-existant in PC Gaming.

You're talking about people who learned to read on DC or Marvel Comics before they even attended school.

And the thing is...those are the people this game was designed for originally.

So, regardless of convenience to the players, you will find that most would rather maintain a level of loyalty to the genre itself.

    EDIT:
And FYI, I think perhaps that group has a voice, for it is likely the same group the Devs addressed in the creation of Mission Architect.

Because of the server load, I have been playing on minimum, so I thought this was by design...so of a matrix affect.

    Graphics on minimum:

Then today I found out otherwise. Same shot, different setting.

First, Positron has said that they're looking at making bases easier to deal with for side-switchers, not necessarily that they're merging the bases so that heroes and villains can be in the same group. This means either everyone gets all teleporters and you don't get dropped from your team when you go to your base from an alternate-side team, or they're opening up bases for tourists to visit the team leader's base when on an alternate-side team.

Second, even if they did allow bases to merge and permit all four alignments into one base, isn't that choice better than no choice at all? You might not want to mix your peanut butter and chocolate, but other people do. Some people want to allow, say, Rogues into a hero base and Vigilantes into a villain base. As long as there are permissions which allow us to be permissive or restrictive as we like, who cares?

Third, what the heck does that have to do with powers? At this point, at least half of the (non-mastermind primary) power sets are proliferated, and they've indicated that they intend to get the rest done as soon as the have the opportunity to work on it (IE, probably more in issue 20 and onwards). You can't make blaster tanks on blue, corrupter brutes on red, or even defender stalkers on yellow, so I honestly have no idea what you're talking about.

Finally, nobody said we were going to get any "base love" in GR. The only thing that would affect the bases themselves is being able to get all the teleport beacons, and that'll mess with some of the design layouts people have (personally, I have no idea how I'd fit another four teleporters into my hero base, but I could manage somehow). However, that's a totally different topic than any of the above three points.

I don't mind if you want to go off ranting - and in some cases, I have sympathy for it - but at least try and have your rants make some sense.
The best way I can respond to this is by quoting a post I put in another thread:

So it's possible that those beacons could actually become active in the future.

    The True Question
Is this the right thing to do? While the benefits would be awesome (Prestige generated by both heroes and villains), if the game no longer seperates the two, is it truly a "City of Heroes"?

In all my years as a comic reader, I never ones saw a base shared by both the good guys and the bad guys. Yes, I've seen bases taken over by one or the other, but not shared.

And if they take it that far
They may as well do away with archetypes altogether. I mean when you think about it, why do a persons power sets determine if a person is a hero or villain? Shouldn't it be a persons actions?

Consider mutants. If they are born with the ability to turn invisible and fight, why does society view them as villains? Isn't that a form of racism? (in a fictional environment of course; I don't want people thinking I can't tell the difference, lol)

Even worse, if persons have those certain abilities, up till now they were forced to become criminals...so in a way, Paragon City birthed it's own enemies through prejudice.

That hasn't really changed even now. The new zones are a seperate system from paragon, so it doesn't remove the prejudice.
And I would appreciate it if, instead of talking off the top of your head and hurling nearly insulting words, you actually think things through before you state I make no sense. Perhaps you are not seeing my point clearly, but that doesn't mean I make no sense.

And frankly, if a hero, for example, turns bad...he or she SHOULD NOT have hero priviledges in a proper society.

Is it really so hard to decide on one faction or the other? Certainly, right now, we all know the consequences. We make those decisions based within those consequences.

I don't see why CoX should blur the lines between right and wrong...even if it is convenient to players.

And as to this being a convenience for "switching" characters:

Positron: Not yet, but we're re-looking at how to make that happen, because we know a lot of you are asking for it. Don't want to break the game to make it happen though

I'm guessing this is by design, but maybe a bug?? It would be a really nice feature for vigilantes/rogues.

  9. Positron hinted that they are looking at Merging the SGs/VGs so that heroes and villains can be in the same groups. I really do not see the point in this myself, unless good sides and bad sides no longer exist.

And if they are going that route, they may as well make powers Le Carte like in MA when making enemy groups. That would at least give us blaster tanks!

However, the merging won't really affect the bases themselves, so still no love for us.

And for the yellow, I agree. Very tough to read!
Where is that razor interview? I haven't seen it yet.
  11. Apologies if these have been suggested already...normally I search, but too lazy this morning.

    1) Add Field Analysts or someway to raise the difficulty in the GR zones. I'm playing a dark/wp brute, and from the start the mission mobs have been too easy.

As it is, I cannot raise difficulty until I can leave at 20.

    2) On the character sellection screen, the yellow makes it hard to read the levels (this may be because of my aging eyes). What would help fix this is allowing us to darken the screen just like we can in the creation process screen.

    3) Seems like a good time to revamp the Supergroup system, from the groups on up to the bases. In the new zones, we could have Resistance Groups and Loyallist Groups. Design a new base editing system for the new zones, and implement it later for the SG/VG bases.

    Thumbnails?

I notice many people insert thumbnails into posts, and clicking on them lead to the bigger pics.

How do I just post the thumbnails?
  13. It's a loading glitch so no big deal, but just to show what I meant, it just happened again and I got a pic of it:

It's strnge that it's the same two servers again.

Now that's funny. Anything in the game is content, friend.

As to the rest of you, you act like I insulted a family member. And most of you clearly are not getting what I'm saying, so it's clear ignorance is strong among you.

I apologize for posting something that is above your intellectual levels.

Elevate a cubical and stick it where you want. They will hang on both the inside and outside of the cubical. Once hung, delete the cubical.

You can elevate the cubical with safes or lamps.

It does it because the balconies are not meant to rotate. It has one active side, and so it turns in the direction of the nearest placing option that is with a straight line of site (thru walls even).
  16. Now it's normal. Go figure.

    This was like:

    Table 1
    Freedom
    Justice

    Table 2
    The rest of the servers
  17. I guess it doesn't really matter. Eventually GR will be free anyway, just like CoV was...
  18. My server status now shows Freedom and Justice serperated from the other servers. Anyone know why this is?
  19. Well, I guess it's your money, not mine. I really don't see the point in preordering ever again with this kind of policy.

As far as getting the two ATs ahead of time, I did on beta and it didn't cost me a red cent.

So the choice it, save $3 and place multiple orders, or pay $40 and get everything?

$3 isn't that big a deal. Heck the taxes are more than that.

I just think this was a bad policy to put in place. There's no good reason to seperate the items from it all. They could just as easily charged $37 up front for preorders and just told people they had to wait on some of the items.

    This way is idiotic.

    (Preorder-Prepurchase...whatever)
  20. So...people give them money in advance...and the items are not included.

The complete GR has the 30 days, that more than makes up for the price, especially for new accounts.

But not including the items in the digital preorder is low. They collected interest on money, and the whole package was not delivered. Even if they warned ahead of time, it's wrong.
  21. But the preorders have paid full price? It's rotten, no matter how you look at it.

Glad I didn't fall for the preorders, and anyone with a lick of sense should never do so again.

    Quote:
City of Heroes® Going Rogue™ is also required
What kind of crap is that? People are paying already for the expansion, and now CoH wants them to pay for the additional expansion items????

That is a total complete rip off. If I'm misunderstanding this, please let me know, but right now I'm thinking other games are looking much better now.

Consider this: What about the people that preordered thinking they would get ALL the GR content? That's called Bait and Switch and it is illegal.
