Quote:1) I doubt you are a lawyer. And YOU claim that "But the page you actually paid on never ever ever made any claim about incarnates. Not ever." HOW can you? I can't PROVE it did because, so far, it is lost in the Internet Aether. How can YOU CLAIM it when your own PROOF is the SAME PLACE AS MINE?
2) I'm sure that NCsoft and Paragon Studios do have lawyers.
3) The burden of proof is on the person making the claim that it was included.
4) Given that no one can provide that proof, they have failed to substantiate their claim.
5) Given that they can't prove their claim, they are lying.
6) You don't have to prove that, at the point of purchase, Incarnates were mentioned. The person making the claim has to prove that all the other documentation that can be found is false. -
No matter how you miss-quote people, YOU have to provide the proof that the store said anything different than every other official source. If you can't do that, you don't have any argument and your accusations are baseless.

Quote:Actually, I just checked, it might be isolated to just PI and street hunting there.OK, so I went and tested this out on a lvl 50 who did not have Unveiler yet. Killed 30 Fakes in PI and then 30 more in FBZ. PI Fakes ran from levels 41 thru 49; FBZ from 40 to 44. I used Hero Stats to keep track of how many I killed; I was a solo blaster, so I was the only one getting kill credits. The results:
PI
Killed: 30
Credited for killing: 12
FBZ
Killed: 30
Credit for killing: 30
So, I agree with Snow Globe: any Fakes 46+ for lvl 50s are not receiving badge credit. I wished that I had kept track of what I was actually defeating in PI, but will need to get another toon for that. -
UI is not included in demos. To include UI you'll need something like FRAPS.

Quote:Yes, that was all that was in Issue 18 Closed Beta. And even if they wanted the "initial" part of the Incarnate system that came out, they would be limited to the 2nd tier of Alpha
Apex, Tin Mage, and Ramiel's arc didn't come out until Issue 19. Tier 3 and 4 of the Alpha Incarnate Slot didn't get released until Issue 19.5. It T3 and T4 Alpha were not even in Issue 20 pre-beta until mid-January 2011. -
Quote:400 points, unless you have completed Tier 8, at which point it is 550 points. If you have been and continue to be a subscriber, then before you had to pay an extra $10 bucks or so for Super Boosters. Now, you can get it all for free (eventually) with the 500 market points you're allocated each month.
The thing you are forgetting is that those points now have to go to stuff that was previously included in the Issue updates. You know, stuff like power sets, costumes, some content, a lot of QoL upgrades (enhancement slots, increased inventory, etc), and that things will be constantly added to the store.
Before a player was able to say they have got full access to everything in the game. That is no longer the case. -
Quote:And Tony provided that. That wasn't enough for you. That is NOT the source that is in question. I'm questioning the ORDER SCREEN AT THE PARAGON STORE! GOT THAT?
No, I didn't THINK so.
Prove that it didn't say exactly what Tony provided. You are asking people to believe that one source, which you can't provide, disagrees with everything else that has been shown.
The burden of proof that one source disagrees with everything else lies with you, not me. -
Quote:Look at this video, (time index 5:55).Not even YOU can prove a negative. Something can be proven or it can be disproven by proving something that excludes said thing. Posts, quotes, links to a source OTHER than the one in question does NOT prove or disprove the contents of the original. The best that could be done would be to point to a lack of evidence proving the affirmative. Even that does not prove or disprove it. It only points out that it is not proven.
I'M not CLAIMING it. I, MYSELF am calling for proof.

Here, I'll show it:

What does the pretty picture say? Issue 19: Incarnates. Got that? Good
At 6:40, Positron said we'd get a "taste" of the Incarnate System with Going Rogue. Not the full system, but a taste. His post here ( http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?p=3024907 ) said that it was going to be removed from Issue 18 / Going Rogue.
Like I said, you are trying to prove something without anything to back it up. You claim that you are calling for proof. That was given. If that isn't good enough, then you have to show any proof to the contrary. The burden of proof rests on your shoulders because you seem intent on denying the claim it wasn't included. So back up that claim. -

Quote:The pre-orders/pre-purchases at the time had the EXACT SAME WORDING. So unless you (or anyone else) can show ANY proof what so ever to refute the posts and archived store, it is time to move on from this point. Can we still not get on the same page? I'm not talking about what was released OR what your box says. I'm talking about pre-orders/pre-purchases and whatever was in the product description AT THAT TIME, when people could have potentially bought a product that was described as being different from the final product.
The proof that it wasn't included has been shown, if you want to deny it, then you have to provide proof that it was included.
Good luck with that. -
I wasn't talking about full access. I was talking about Mission Architect Access for those that bought the Architect Edition, which Oedipus_Tex was trying to demonstrate that players shouldn't get access to the AE for purchasing the AE edition.

Quote:I would accept these as a reasonable compromise. So these are the changes I'm thinking of for Keyes:
1. When Antimatter starts his regen cycle; neither disintegration NOR the obliteration beam will fire due to the time freeze and they cannot fire until he is finished regenerating or his regen is interrupted.
2. Loves a Challenge should be stripped of the no death clause, period. Wouldn't it be challenging enough to not smash the terminals and let Antimatter fully regenerate without the no death clause? Also didn't the devs state sometime ago that there would be no more "no death" clause badges?
3. Instead of idea #2; adjust Loves a Challenge so that if someone does perish that the whole league isn't penalized.
4. Adjust Avoid Green Stuff so that the whole league isn't penalized. last night we would have gotten it but someone decided to put "be stupid" on their list of things to do at that moment and turned on their fly power. This resulted in the circle appearing over the heads of some of us and by the time we realized it....too late.
5. Bunker Buster: eh, no major gripes about that badge. As a suggestion, tweaking it to smashing all three doors in FIVE seconds instead of three may not be bad. Still a good chance of failing it as someone may get to trigger happy or someone decides to NOT LISTEN to the orders of "stay away from all the bunkers until the bunk buster sub team is FINISHED" (this happened the other night, the person was subsequently voted OUT of the league)
6. Anti-Anti Matter: no change needed for that.
Given that Antimatter can still defeat the league when people are being disintegrated thus healing him thus making him nigh invincible, I don't really see the above ideas nerfing the trial to the point of making it ridiculously easy. -
Quote:Because some of them might be the type/level from the infamous Family Farm that had all awards shut off (including badge credit). I suspect the reason why the nemesis farm I'm using still works is that it isn't easy to get, has ZERO XP/INF/Salvage Drops, and is using lower level Fakes that were not hit with the nerf stick thanks to farmers.Huh.
Why would some Fake Nemesis bosses work, and others not? That makes no sense. I hear you, SG, it just doesn't jive. I might actually give this a go later, just to see for myself...
Think of it this way:- Fake Nemesis - level 40-45: Count? Probably, as they were not involved in the family farm.
- Fake Nemesis Rex - level 40-45: Count? Probably, as they were not involved in the family farm.
- Fake Nemesis - level 46-50: Count? Maybe, as they were involved in the family farm.
- Fake Nemesis Rex - level 46-50: Count? Maybe, as they were possibly involved in the family farm. (I can't remember).

Content is only good if it is actually being used. If it isn't being used, then what the frell was the point in making it in the first place?

Quote:The NCstore description of Going Rogue did not have any mention of the Incarnate System.I wish that the GR Pre-Order site was available, cached, or something. I'm interested in seeing what the description was for folks who bought before it was released. If the Store's product description made any reference to Incarnates there MIGHT be an argument. That is what they bought (or didn't buy). When the transaction was complete, THAT part of the deal is done. If it SAID that it included Incarnate content but did NOT then they should have said/done something about it then and there, to include uninstalling it, having the code canceled and requesting a refund. If it did not say anything about Incarnates then it's really a case of Caveat Emptor.
Completely false as far as Dual Pistols and mostly false with Demon Summoning. To use Demon Summoning you have to have some sort of access to MMs to use it.Quote:Also, if you previously bought GR and aren't a VIP you no longer have access to Demon Summoning or Dual Pistols. With the incarnate system there's at least the argument that it wasn't technically part of GR, but those powersets were. That, I think, is a little ridiculous.
Just to be absolutely clear:
If you find a retail copy of Going Rogue and apply it to your account, you will get the following:- ZERO FREE CHARACTER SLOTS (The retail code had to be applied before Sept 13 to qualify for the free slots.)
- NO ACCESS to the INCARNATE SYSTEM (No, it was not a part of Going Rogue. It is only open to subscribers.)

What if Black Pebble kills a Catgirl? Would that be acceptable?Quote:Quick addendum: Now you know why Marketing is always so tight-lipped and why Black Pebble kills a puppy every time Positron or Zwillinger positively asserts anything.
For god's sake, people, stop this madness and THINK OF THE PUPPIES!!!
So? The same can be said of the Original CoH, CoV, or any retail version of the game (no matter where it was purchased from: NCstore, a retail store, or Steam). As of Tuesday the need for a subscription is non-existent. -
Quote:People don't like Keyes. It won't matter how many Emp merits the developers throw at players, the basic point is this:I don't know. I think now it suffers far more from a case of bad press than anything else.
May just be a case of differing personal opinion, but I really don't like the UG trial [in COX] that much, yet it's getting a very good bit of play time now.
A lot of players don't like the trial.
Now if I can get a decent team, one that acts like a group, Keyes CAN be smooth. However, I tend to get that type of group less than 1/2 the time (if that much). At which point Keyes becomes an unmitigated mess. There is no middle ground where it can be "okay". I've resorted to making a popmenu to keep all my keyes instructions handy because I have to repeat them with nearly every trial, and some generic instructions for timing (which often get ignored anyway).
As to the underground, yes, I macro'd instructions, but I'm already cutting back on them as players are getting the hang of the trial in TWO WEEKS. It has been TWO MONTHS that Keyes has been available and it is still experiencing problems. -

Quote:Thanks for reminding me about the free month.Whether he does it now or later, that should give him the month of play and all the goodies.
Going Rogue was a prerequisite, but it did not include the Incarnate System. Issue 18 was supposed to only have a sneak peak at the Incarnate System, but not the full system itself. A demo if you will.Quote:I have zero problem with the Incarnate System being VIP only. It is a non issue.
However, the system was absolutely tied to Going Rogue and no retcon and revisionist history is going to change that. Not sure why you worded it that way, but you had to have Going Rogue for that system and that was always the case.
I know you know this, so I don't understand why you'd word it like that.
Yes, and I forgot the one month VIP access. -

And the box and website advertising said that the Mission Architect was included as a selling feature. No matter how much they try to get around that, the box and official website says the Architect Edition includes "the innovative Mission Architect".
-
Quote:This is the only complaint I agree with. I have a retail box for the AE addition. What if someone went out and got the City of Heroes: Architect Edition box?
This is not as gray of an area as Incarnates.
The person bought the box advertising itself as giving you AE. Once the free month runs out that person loses AE and has to buy it AGAIN from the in game store.
That is a screw job.
