@SpaceNut: What about CoT ghosts and the motion sensors in the side mission for some Mayhems?
-
I'm assuming the graphics settings from the screenshots were set to high correct? I noticed some key differences in the way some things looked from my computer (which is on lowest settings).
Congrats to all the winners. -
Anyone know just how much perception Rikti Drones have? Trying to figure out if it's possible to push my stealth past their threshold. Likewise, what all other enemies have perception buffs?
-
Open question: How have (or haven't) people's opinion changed now that this SF has been out for a while?
-
Concerning PvE DR, I'd suggest that certain enemies act like an enemy Defender. They apply DR code to their teammates and you have to take them out first to restore it back to "normal". This would actually be a boon to ATs like Stalkers who specialize in single target damage and would be tasked with taking out key enemies like they they are designed to do rather than "RAWR FOOTSTOMP!!!" that's prevalent in some teams.

In some ways, it almost seems like the worst part of D Shift is that it's AOE. Being able to point at one guy and remove him from the equation is one thing but it seems problematic when you catch a group since you can't pick and choose that you want this enemy shifted and this enemy not shifted. I like the concept of shortening the length of time for the intangible slightly but overlapping it with a sleep effect.
I have one question: Do intangible enemies count towards the target cap for AOEs? If they do, one possible remedy is for AOEs to not add intangible enemies to the target cap so that you can shift part of a group, kill everything else effectively, then be ready for the shifted enemies to return to normal space. -
Title: Rider's Ribs Restaurant Rescue
Arc ID: 163967
Creators Global Name: @Zamuel
Mission Count: 3
Notes I was intriguingly undecided on whether to submit this here or to the humor arc thread -
"Max out time!!!" isn't that bad of a battlecry. That said, everything else is just...ugh. Seems more of a straw breaking the camel's back than just being that bad on it's own.
Looking over more, some of these enemies seem almost like thier quotes were pulled from some SNK endboss. I mean, "Hahahaha!!! Try harder. You have to be made of more sterner stuff than this!?!" -
It's entirely possible that I'm being pointlessly pessimistic. However, while high levels can get XP from lower SFs/TFs, I'm feeling that most people will naturally gravitate towards "better XP" from the higher level ones. Note the thought process that boss farms get better XP despite people faceplanting so much it's moot and would do better farming LTs. Another point is the possibility that higher levels will lose their movesets--a current complaint about exempting for current low level content.
Plus, lvl 50s don't need XP... -
I've got a feeling that while this will help high level TFs/SFs, this will outright kill lower level ones, even ones that are actually decent like Virgil. Likewise, I think the 20% XP boost is a cop out for not actually improving the content.
-
You make a lot of valid points Pyromantic. The biggest problem is an aspect of "too late" to all this. In other words, you've presented something with thought but since this is now and not 5 years ago there will most likely be too many complaints and gripes about it.

Quote:This is what I was meaning and you worded it better than I did.The Cottage Rule is simple: a power that does one thing shouldn't be replaced with a power that now does something completely different. (In the original example, summoning a small cottage, hence the name).
In the case of Energize and Conserve Power, Energize *doesn't do something completely different*. Energize is simply a reduced-power version of Conserve Power that also provides a self heal and a regen buff.
It's like replacing Coke with Diet Coke. The Cottage Rule covers replacing Coke with a rump steak. That hasn't happened here. -
Actually, no it isn't. It would be a change to the cottage rule if they changed the set for the ATs that already had it. When given to a different AT then it's a whole new ballgame. For instance, give anything to Stalkers and it has to gain Assassin Strike, Placate, and Hide in some fashion.
-
Quick question: Is there a move other than Placate (on Stalkers) that has a placate effect? I'm wondering if it would be best to apply a placate, blind, and a -regen on a shifted enemy. This way they stop running around while shifted, they don't heal while phased, and they come out of phase with a small window of unawareness of the player/team due to the length of the blind.

Taking Venture's idea and running with it, I did an attempt of a different outfit for Lord Kumo using a few Sinister pieces thrown in. Discovered a few coloration quirks and obviously it is up to you on whether or not you want to use it or not.

I'm curious on what the main issues here were. The story is in an interesting comedy/drama mix so it's possible that there may not be much that can be done outside of a little rewording.
-
For those who are in the beta actively testing this I'd suggest checking coop zones, PvP (zones and arena), and AE missions with specific level ranges to see how all this works out as far as quirks/wonkiness.
-
Intriguingly, I thought it looked like it would be pronounced with a long 'A' and the 'E' would be silent.
-
Seems like there's "something missing" from Lord Kumo's look. Any way you could upload his costume file? Might want to let some here poke around at it to see if they can suggest some tweaks.

Actually, just right click the number of the post and copy the link. Example from this page: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...4&postcount=16

Since I've played two of your arcs, I'll request that Rider's Ribs Restaurant Rescue (163967) be put up for re-review due to changes.
-
I have not, but plan to, run this arc yet. Due to being in a similar immersion predicament in a story I'm planning, I'll actually suggest waiting until I16 hits to see if we can get the Crab Backpack as a costume item. With the color customiztion we will hopefully get this added to the MA. While it sounds like you have a solid plan, EvaDestruction makes some valid points on ways things could be immersion breaking on the other end of the spectrum.
