Having worked in the business of preserving papers and books, and still keeping a hand in it, I can tell you, that while the processess are getting better, nothing lasts forever. Oh, you can make them last hundreds of years, but you have to have archives with climate control etc. Digital formatting , as Su-lin said, changes, and you just keep resaving it in the new medium/format. Also, just as old masters on display need reconditioning on occasion, so might your digital artwork.

I've been teaching myself to draw over the period of the last month or so, with some limited results. The past few days I inked a sketch a VG-mate graciously let me do of his character, and scanned it to get his opinion.
I figured "What the hey", might as well get the opinion of people who know what they're doing

The advice I've had so far on drawing, and on this drawing in particular:
Get my hands on an anatomy book so I can get a better idea of human anatomy and the detailed particulars
Head's too small

And yes, I did rush the feet somewhat, hence the lines are pretty poor.

I'm not the best person for art help , but I think his head is a little small for the body. Keep practicing thouhg. You've gotten farther than most people have, willing to ask for help and trying to draw.

I looks really good DB. Sence of whimsy, check, sence of proportions, check, cool frame, check. I like it.


One tiny detail, and it really might just be me. Her right foot. The top of the lower half ( foot) seems out of alignment with the upper half ( ankle/calf). It looks like it needs to be rotated slightly to her right. (( I just asked my 10 yr old daughter, and she pointed it out too. She's the one that is learning to draw.)
