Quote:I remember seeing whole palettes of mock-ups that ZNRGY did, and that was 2 years ago. So these aren't a product of or inspired by CO.
Red's right I made some these as early as 2006 to as late as early 2008, but enough of that, here's Avalon Blade
I'll keep them coming, but I would love to see some mockups from other players. My dream costumes!

I don't know if there's a thread like this already, but instead of putting mockups into the costume suggestion thread, I'll just put them here in the Fan Creations section. I have a lot of ideas and I think it'll be fun to see what others come up with as well. I was Photoshopping an existing costume idea and I think result of this remake is kinda cute. Here's Boil (I don't know why I named her that)!
I'm going to be adding more. Please add your own -
I'm a vet, and at this point, the Devs can make all of them available to all players. I agree with Sigium, wings should be available to all players freely. It was a nice gesture on the part of our Devs to offer these, but it's not going to stop me from enjoying them if others have access to them as well.
I used to defend the vet rewards system (maybe I'm tired right now LOL) but they're not enough of an incentive for continued play and I don't care if the new players get them. I say at 72 month mark, they should let all players have them and end the veterans rewards system. From that point on just give all players rewards -- there I said it! -
I didn't spend as much time on the DXP weekend this time. I did get my EM/EA scrapper Hard Spark to lvl 32 and which I had fun doing. This time (which is odd for me) I was able to get on some great teams!
Say Hi, if you see my toon in-game! -
Oooo, if someone hasn't suggested already, GR should have some more female mobs in it!
-
I'm going to preorder too. Man, this game has gotten a lot of money outta me!
-
I love these suggestion!
If I had to add one, mine would be a revamp of all the Freedom Phalanx characters! They've become stale! I'm tired of looking at them as they are. I know this is an odd request for GR, but you all have already picked most of the stuff I would've suggested. -
I agree with the article. Our game will at some point need a remake. I don't think it's wrong to point that out. Yeah, this game is great but as new games come onto the landscape, CoH/V's age and limitations are going to become more apparent.
I'm also in agreement that this game has earned the distinction that it is a ground breaking classic in the MMO world. I think it warrants a remake to keep it going for many years to come. -
It's weird, when there's DXP weekend it's the hardest time for me to find teams. I have a single player SGs now and I haven't established any new in-game friends of late. So now, at least to me, players are teaming with their SG members more because of the gains in XP.

Quote:I like the idea! So long as doesn't interfere with ME gettin' a moble tailor this year -- the Devs can go for itSo I was thinking of possible veteran rewards that weren't *game breaking* and I thought of a great idea for the 69 month veteran reward. This reward should either allow you access to all 6 costume codes previously handed out at convention events, or if 6 is a bit optimistic, a choice of 1 out of the 6 costume codes. These costume codes would be the perfect reward for anybody that's been playing for almost 6 years!
Can I get an Amen? -
I don't know enough from whats been said/offered so far to complain or promote GR. Hopefully it'll be good! 2 cents

I've used a range of different tools to ink my pencils. I primarily use a combination of brushes and technical pens. When I'm lazy and I want to ink quickly I'll use a magic maker like tool like a Sharpie -- nothing to clean! Lately, I've been mega lazy. I've been just pencilling tightly and then scanning the art into Photoshop and cleaning up the stray pencils and then use the software tools to make it look inked -- like I said mega lazy. I see a theme emerging

Names are easy to create on your own are with one of the name generators on the internet.
I usually use names of people that I met over the years and slap a color, number or verb, noun or adverb on a I'm in the game playing my newly monikered toon. One of my toonz is named NEO OEN which shows that you can come up with a name by just reversing a word. -

Quote:I don't think this rep system is good for the forum. If someone doesn't agree or like a post, they can just respond with a post or send a private message. This thread has turned into a rousing bashing of the rep system, such as it is. However, the OP got tagged with negative rep, as he/she pointed out, for comments in another thread.
Like...
and...
So, others disagreed with what he/she had to say, and they used the rep system to voice their opinion. I, like some, responded in that thread. In this specific instance, the OP was not the victim of random -rep bombing, they received -rep because someone disagreed with what they had to say in posts like those quoted above. Regardless of what I think of the rep system, I cannot blame the rep system for what happened. This is like someone pushing you down and then being surprised when your friend tells them off for it. -
Oh please don't have an opposing point of view because not only are you going to have a negative rep you're going to be called naughty things as well.
Quote:I sure did!Aw darnit... now that there's more of us turning off rep, it's gonna turn into the popular thing to do.
Some of the folks here on this forum are so quick to jump on you when you are critical of the game. Criticism of the game doesn't hurt if it is meant to be constructive and possibly helps the game in the long run. Criticism is a no no on the CoH/V boards! Ohh boy, watch the rep dots turn red when you do! -

Please don't think I'm trying to be hard on our Devs! I've sung their praises many times in the past and will continue to do so down the road! This game has had a significant affect on me over the years. It helped to awaken new avenues of creativity that I didn't even know I had.
Being able to create the superhero/villain that I imagine is as important to me as the game play and I want the Devs to know that. Dare I say, that I enjoy creating the characters more than playing them at times. So yeah, there's much love for our Devs for this great game!
Maybe I shouldn't have posted in this thread, but my frustration over the costume issue got the better of me. -
Quote:Well, all I can say is that (at least for me) it is not enough! I have so many costume ideas for my characters that I can't realize in this game because the inventory is limited. I understand that it takes time to model and test some of the costume items for clipping, but I would be happier just to have considerably more textures. I know from experience that those don't take that long to make.
The Devs have had a lot on their plate and still manage to push out new costume options, even free ones that aren't attached to the costume packs
It's great that there are players that are happy with what's available, but for me, it's been very frustrating over the years to keep using the same items with only a trickle of new items every now and then! -
I agree with many of the things Sapphire7 stated in her letter, so it pains me to add a little rain on the love fest.
There are many things I think the Devs listen to the player base (recently power customization), but there is one aspect that I don't think much attention is paid to in this game and it is costumes. Before anyone says that I'm complaining because of CO, this is not the case. I've been stressing the importants of this long before I knew what CO had to offer! I've posted many costume ideas in the costume request thread over the years and there still is so few costumes that we players get.
To a new player it is a lot here, but to an old player like myself it just old and tired at this point -- frankly this shouldn't be! I've made this plea over and over again and it feels as if it just falls on deaf ears. I'm tired of waiting once or twice a year for a costume addition that usually only has one or two sets and most of the time I have to pay for them. I'm tired of normal attire being given as sets to use in a superhero game. If I wanted to play a regular looking person I'd play the Sims or IMVU!
Champions may or may not be as good as CoH/V in it's playstyle, but one thing that it excels at is the costumes -- this shouldn't be! Our game has been around for over 5 years it's no way that CO should be on par or exceeding our inventory of costume items, but IMO it does!
I don't want my statements to be a slam on Sexy Jay, because he's a great designer and I do love what he's created for us. I just think that the powers that be in our game needs to give this more importance that what currently has! -

If your strategy in your guide is what you've used then no demonstration is necessary. I've done similar things to get team on the other servers. I'm not discounting your experience with getting teams, I'm just pointing out the experiences that my friends and I have had mirror what the OP has had when getting on and or forming teams on low populated servers. It is great that you've developed a way to get teams on all servers, however, not all players are going come in this game with that level of acumen about teaming. In addition, this isn't the first time this topic has come up on the forum with a shortage of teaming options being the reason for server merging.
Perception is a big thing and if new players perceived that this game is a ghost town, whether it is or isn't is not good for our game. -

Quote:I wouldn't discount this statement by the OP so quickly. There have been players that I have known over the years in CoH/V that have felt much the same way and because of this have left and not returned to the game. Many servers and parts of this game are ghost towns -- I'm sorry that's the truth of it. Whether teaming for instanced missions or in exterior game environment it is like that on many of the servers. I stop playing on some of the servers I started out on because of this as well. I admit that I do solo most of the time, but I do like to team sometimes and on some servers that is very difficult to do.
if this game all about alts,
then why the hell would i want to make a alt, face ghost towns, and have to do the same old content, over and over by my self
I don't know if merging servers is the answer because there is a segment of the player base that like low populated server and there's nothing wrong with that, It does seem; however that we here have quite a few low populated servers!
