    Welcome back to Paragon City!
  2. I would replace any powers that duplicate the Devices power set (caltrops, etc). They belong to another set and should not be used for a hand-to-hand street fighting secondary. Just my opinion.
  3. Happy Birthday, Dinah! Hope your day was extra special.

    An Introduction

    Welcome back to Paragon City!
  5. Welcome to the Champion server Balefire! Lots of good suggestions in this thread for SGs. My advice, take your time, team with different heroes from different SGs to get a feel for what they are like before signing up with an SG. That way you will find the best fit for you and your play schedule.
  6. Congrats on your team's 4th anniversary!

    Hello Champion

    Welcome to the Champion server!
  8. Madame M,
Congratz on another successful event for the Champion Server! The HSO Holiday Ball was lots of fun, and it was great to see so many people turn out for the evening.

Cheers to the High Society Order and High Society Alliance!
  9. Congratulations to the DarkGuards' on their 2nd Anniversary. Here's to many more years of crime-fighting in Paragon City!

I think this was the problem. We were editing the local version and not the version already published. Gah.

Thank you all who replied to this thread to help us out. Much appreciated.

I'm not sure what's going on there. I have had something like this happen to me on occasion, and publishing the arc twice in a row usually forced my updates into the system. For example, I would edit the arc and publish my changes, then immediately go back into editing the arc and do nothing but republish it.

Since I don't know if what your wife is up against is the same thing, my workaround might not help, but I figured it was worth a shot.
Doesn't just editing and saving an already published arc update it in the system? You said you re-published yours. Does that mean you published it a second time (thus having two versions of your MA live)? We don't want to un-publish, edit, and re-publish her arc as it will lose all of it's ratings (or so I'm told).
  12. I've been trying help my wife update her published MA story. She has made some changes (diolog adjustments, made one map shorter, etc) and wants those changes added into her published story arc. Her publish MA has been up since 5-03-09 and has several ratings, so she does not want to lose any of those ratings.

In the past, we could just make the changes to the published arc, and it was done on the live version. Now, the changes do not occur at all. She's gone in an tested the changes to be sure they are there (and they are), but when she goes to the live version, they are not.

We could re-publish it as a new MA, but then she loses all the past ratings, so we don't want to do that.

Did something change in MA that no longer allows you to edit a published story arc? Does anyone know why we cannot make the changes in the current published MA?
  13. Looking forward to this event! I'll be there along with my comrades in the Justice Force.
  14. Good stuff! Saw this the other day, but loved watching it a second time. Thanks for sharing!
  15. I agree. Restore the Secruity/Threat Levels in the RWZ to 35 - 50 again and move the AE Building to Pocket D WHERE it belongs.
  16. Roxy Fire, welcome to the Champion Server!

If you are seeking a laid back yet fun SG, please consider the Justice Force. We've been active for over five years, have two hero divisions as well as a villaingroup.

Feel free to check out the link in my signature that will lead you to our website, where you can read about the Justice Force to see if we are the right team for you.

I'm not sure where you're getting this "wow let's speed everything up" vibe from either - the changes to the SK system in particular will greatly reduce the extreme high end of the leveling curve. During the last double XP weekend, there were people going from 0-50 in less than an hour, even though the norm might've been more like 5-8 (speaking strictly from a PL standpoint). These changes to the SK system mean such ridiculously fast leveling isn't possible anymore.

That being said, those who think this will put a stop to farming or PLing are sorely mistaken. The one thing these changes will do is put an end to the broadcasting for fillers or bridges, which even I'll admit got annoying at times. PLers will continue to PL, because these changes mean they no longer have to look for bridges or fillers outside of MA missions. Farmers will continue to farm, because the new difficulty system makes it that much easier for them to not have to look for fillers.
You writing that the first 20 Levels of the game suck is your opinion. I don't have Stamina on a single one of my characters - If you are a good enough player you can make due without it. And your statement that people were leveling characters from 0-50 in less than an hour during Double XP Weekend is ridiculous; it's not possible to level that fast (by the way, there is no Level 0 in the game).
  18. Everything about Positron's post sounds awesome... except for the last paragraph about boosting the XP gains by 20% for Levels 1-20. Seriously, it's easy enough to do the first 20 Levels through normal game play, do you really need to add this boost? Heck, with Patrol XP and all the past changes to the Leveling scale for the higher Levels, it just means we'll be Leveling our heroes/villains so fast we'll hit Security/Threat Level 50 in a matter of days. Then what? Make a few Alts, super speed Level them to 50 too? Then what? Leave the game because you've leved a dozen characters to Level 50 in just three months time and there is nothing left to do?

You would think that the Devs would not want to make Leveling too easy so that the players continue to play the game month after month. This game is a business after all, and it's main source of income is the monthly subscriptions of the players. How is making it so easy to Level through the game a breakneck speeds a good business decision?

Other than that, I all for the new changes coming with Issue 16!

If I was actually wrong, you'd have a point there.

    Oh well!

That was the best reply you could come up with? Seriously?

It’s now obvious that you know nothing about game design or balance, for if you did you would see what needs to be done to correct the MA system.

Oh well. Enjoy your power leveling and lazy style of play while you can because it won’t last forever.

You are wrong. MA missions are being used by the majority to farm and power level. That was not the intent. Reduce the rewards by half and let the MA missions be for story telling.

I'll bold it so maybe you get the point.

Nobody is going to waste their game time on junk that pays out 1/2 rewards

    Except those five RP'ers.

It needs competitive rewards to be useful and the devs know this.

    Keep telling yourself that.

The mass of people PLing in MA indicates players want exp and they want a lot of it and they want it easy.

But please PM Posi and explain your way to him.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Um, why would I PM Positron? The Devs know there is a problem with the MA system, and they will take steps to correct it whether it be one month from now or six months or whenever. And nerfing the rewards will be part of the solution, as will be removing many of the AE Buildings from within the city and island zones.

Best solution isn't removing the AE but instead removing it from Atlas, Galaxy, Kings row, Mercy, and Port Oaks. And having the auto contact to the AE bumped up to happen around level 15 - 20. That way those who want to can still make their way to an AE to play but it doesn't automatically suck new players in until they have learned there is more to the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. Get the AE Buildings out of the low Level zones asap.
Let new players experience the regular game first before encountering the holographic missions offered at the AE Buildings.

And change all MA missions to only offer half the XP of regular game missions. This will stop the farmers and return the MA missions to what they were originally intended for: to tell STORIES.

Five RP'ers hanging out in the lobby while everyone else ignores the place wasn't the mission goal for AE. And that's where your "solution" leads.
