Not to mention whoever was using the 'Paragon Studios' handle kept repeating that the beta would open up this week.
Man that was an annoying chat to read through though.
WHEN ARE THE NEXT INCARNATE SLOTS OPENING? HOW MUCH LONGER MUST I SUFFER?

Y'know, RP'er rage is funny, but still not quite the level of funny PvP'ers get to.

It's the climax to the Praetorian War, not the Ending to the Praetorian Storyline. We don't know the aftermath of the trial, there may yet be survivors, we know First Ward at least should still be 'active' with the remnants of the Resistance, the Loyalists and all the other ragtag outcasts. And the Praetorian Hamidon is still lurking out there somewhere and he's a smidge more dangerous than our Hamidon.
-
Well I think part of his reason for nuking them all is to 'save' them from Hamidon. He's saving them from a fate worse than death by.. giving them death.
Then again, given how entrenched all the troops are, you have to wonder exactly how many civilians were still hanging around. Then again, plenty enough to protest at the TPN >> -
Yeah because there aren't any survivors in First Ward, all Praetorians are just dead dead dead.
-
Ok so the rundown of the Magisterium Incarnate trial:
Phase 1: Defeat 250 IDF.
Just like it sounds. You see tanks and barricades and hordes of IDF.
Phase 2: Defeat Shadowhunter, Pendragon, and Chimera.
Shadowhunter summons up big anubian jackal looking critters and turns into one himself at 40% Health. Apparently when you kill him he phases someone for a short time so they can't help in the battle.
Pendragon's sword keeps fighting after you beat him.
I didn't really see any of Chimera's tricks.
It seems like the order you kill them in matters as they offer up buffs and effects when you defeat each of them.
Phase 3: Defeat black swan.
She uses the Quell of Jocas, which is the Praetorian counterpart to the Dagger of Jocas and it can sever someone's connection to the well. Apparently it affects us by sealing our powers but didn't get a lot of detail on what that meant. Portals will pop up periodically to buff her and have to be taken out.
Phase 4: Sever Tyrants connection to the well.
Cole shows up and is -pissed-, Nuking (at least) Nova Praetoria. He then grows gigantic and we see several pillars of light. We also have the Quell of Jocas temp power we can use to nix said pillars. He has several text prompt powers including a Beam power where light surges down all around him.
Phase 5: Beat Cole
With his connection to the Well gone he becomes a standard 50. Meaning he cons grey.
That's it. Basically just a lot of bossfights, most without many gimmicks. There's some details lost just because we couldn't get the devs talking and it was just hard to read everything flashing by the screen or the resolution just prevented us from reading everything. -
Quote:I think he was referring to Katie Hannon and Hess, the 2 task forces that require you to complete the zone story arcs to access.Moonfire gets into the rotation. It was the WST during DXP weekend
As for why no new SFs, yeah, they've gone on record saying that they want to dole things out equally, so any new strike forces will be put out at the same time as new task forces, or the content will be co-op -
Company policy is now that every time someone asks, they push it back another week.
-
-
Well, she's also kind of extra dead at this point.
-
Yeah they explicitly said the 'climax' of the war, not 'the conclusion'.
-
It also wouldn't surprise me if some of the Praetorians escape. I mean we've got Praetor Duncan running around in Dark Astoria and she was stopped from returning to Praetoria, and her personal plans are pretty clear since she knows the empire is bust at this point.

They've said it will likely be a while before they expand lore again, since they gave such a big update. but they know the desire is there, Devouring Earth have been cited too, among other requests.
-
Quote:no I think this is where he sends his squad of hit-monkeys.Is this the part where ZWill comes and offers us all some points or merits if we "Forget we ever saw anything and stay silent"
Also, the Magisterium as the final battle ground. I'm thinking either A) the place is wrecked up by Devouring Earth or B) We ascend Cole's tower after chewing through the ground defenses. Though, you have to wonder what Cole could be planning at this point with so much of his plans and army in ruins. -
Quote:Well part of it is just that Praetoria is pretty isolated and lacks a lot of standard convenient amenities. If you don't start there there's no reason to go there. And First Ward is interesting to run through once, but after that there's not a lot of reason to go to the zone unless you really liked it. A lot of the badges you'll get doing the arcs, the Seed just is not that fun (as epic and cool as it looks) and that just leaves the myriad of dayjob badges which... well, you only get via logging out. I really do love First Ward but there's no good reason to hang out there and I have to go out of my way to get there. it all just adds up to a ghost zone. Which Night Ward will probably be too, though it's nice to have as an alternative to the humdrum arcs starting in brickstown/founder's falls. I kind of wish it went to the full 40 though cuz it just means when you're done you just go right back to them. You and Agent White are probably right, which of course gives me a sad face. Some of the best artistic looking zones get little activity.
And thinking about it, at least from the information here, I agree that this does feel a little light for a full issue update, it seems more like a .5 update, but they probably didn't want to add a new zone and the 'climax' trial in a half issue update since 22 was so Dark Astoria centric. on the other hand it may not be the full info either, since it seems ot be a leak it could easily be unfinished. -
Pictures of the above. Though again they said the summit is less about 'big reveals' and more about interacting with players, so I think we'll see a bigger focus on the discussion panels like the design a power set and the zone revamp panel, etc.
The incarnate slot sounds interesting though. -
Quote:Actually connecting stuff via the new teleporters seems more likely to bring a lil more activity into First Ward. But then, with it's lack of several amenities and low level range, I still don't see it being much of a hub until they give people more to do in Praetoria.Connecting it to first Ward is interesting. It seems like they want to give people a complete alternative 20-35 that is connected directly to a pretty under used zone(first ward).
I wonder if this will be good enough to be active zones for more than one run through.
Also, no mention of the Praetorian Hamidon. Though they say 'climax' and not 'conclusion' too. -
Also kind of curious, it notes it'll be the start of the 2nd volume of the signature story arcs. I guess they've decided to change up the timing on them? Originally it was said there'd be maybe a month gap between the end of Episode 7 volume 1 and the start of Episode 1 volume 2. I dunno if I can really see this issue hitting in May, especially with no beta up atm.
-
30-35 zone? ...huh. That's kind of oddly specific.
And a new portal system, neat! -
On occasion I'll go hang around in Atlas and look for non-veteran low levels, then mail 'em a nice chunk of like 10 mil inf.
-
Caveat Emptor. The game is not about pay to win, you pay for convenience, not power.
-
I just think it's amusing that this week it's a bitchfest about where it is, next week will be a bitchfest about all the problems once it hits live, like why it still doesn't sound right or why staff model X wasn't made.
-
Well the other basic problem that the devs have reminded us of again and again is the game's limited resources. Supergroup bases take up a fair amount of resources on servers. 'Personal Housing' would only increase that load, on top of all the aforementioned problems.
Nothing really wrong with a solo SG base though. I've got more than a couple, it's pretty simple. Just start early, I mean most Inf comes from the market anyway, not drops, so that 50% inf penalty isn't that big of a deal once you get access to alignment merits or just get a 50. From there it just takes a while, but the most basic amenity you need, the Invention table, is available pretty early on for little cost.
Base teleporters are quite handy, but mostly just Heroside since Villainside is pretty tightly connected as it is, the only zones without ferries don't have beacons anyway. The only real exception being the new Dark Astoria, but the basic teleporter can cover that. Oh and pocket D access can be nice, though not so much since most trial forming moved to DA anyway. There's the RWZ too but that beacon is such a pain to get.
With E-mail I can't really imagine anyone is that desperate for all the different base storage available, except for the OCD types that gotta collect 'em all.
So beyond function you're left with nothing but vanity peripherals so.. no reason not to go nuts with those. I mean I dunno about you but I've got cots in -my- SGs.
