  1. Hi guys, I've rolled yet another controller in my ongoing quest for a really fun controller, and this time I've opted for illusion/radiation after all of the hype I've heard. I basically started off with Local Man's SO build (thank you very much Local ) But switched around a few things. It's just an SO build at the moment so don't bother mentioning IO sets yet, but what do you think?

EDIT: one other note, I wasn't sure what to take as my level 49 power, I ended up taking mutation but tbh I want to stay away from being a healer. I did think about Recall Friend in case I needed to ghost to a boss and then TP my team...any other ideas?

Yeah, while writing them down I thought it was very similar to rad, not identical though. I think it's mainly great haste that makes it look a lot like rad.
  3. I've been thinking more about Time Control and you could have both a Time manipulation primary and secondary. They'll all probably need a little nerfing because they seem a little overpowerd but here's a list of some possible powers for the 2 sets:

    Buffs:

    Undo Wounds:
    Ally +Heal, +Res (Effects)
    Recall: Ally Resurrect
    Great Haste: PBAoE, Ally +Speed, +Recharge, +Recovery, +Regen, +Dmg, +Def

    DeBuffs:

    Delay:
Toggle (PBAoE), Foe -Speed, -Def, -Res
Impedance: Toggle (PBAoE), Foe -Speed, -Recharge, -Dmg
Hindering Field: PBAoE, Foe -Speed, -Recovery, -Regen

    Control:

    Slow:
Ranged, Moderate DoT (Psionic), Foe -Speed, -Def
Glimpse into Probability: Ranged, High Dmg (Psionic), Foe Disorient
Time Rift: Ranged (Target AoE), Foe Intangible
Eye of the Storm: PBAoE, Foe Hold, -regen, -recovery
Flashback: Summon Doppelganger: PBAoE, Foe -Speed, -Recharge, -Regen, -Res

Just thinking about the possibilities made all of my other controllers seem really boring lol
  4. Brilliant ideas here guys! I myself have always loved the idea of controlling gravity...it just sounds fun but as you have all said, the set is seriously lacking compared to every other controller primary. I don't actually have any other ideas to add because I think you've covered pretty much every problem with it. I just want to urge the developers to do SOMETHING to gravity! I really like the AoE Lift idea, never thought of that...now that would be awesome fun!
  5. sorted out the code problem
  6. I rolled a Grav/Rad controller the other day and I've roughly planned out a build. Now considering I don't currently use IO sets, what do you think? Any tips would be greatly appreciated

It's the all around set that just makes everything a little better but it doesn't bind you into just one type of "dinner". With rad you have choices.
erm...thanks. I wasn't actually thinking of eating it, just killin' people preferably, but thanks

Better pairings you say? Anyone know the best secondary for Grav?
  9. I've been reading the many positive opinions on /radiation controllers, and the major discussion of whether illusion or fire control is the better primary for damage, but generally, does radiation pretty much work with any primary? For instance gravity/radiation sounds quite fun to me. Waddya think?
  10. Gotta say I love the Time Control idea! I imagine the Freeze Time power, proposed by someone else, to be an AoE hold and to stick enemies in the generic frozen pose and grey them out. Then you could have a Slow Time power, a target AoE foe -speed -recovery -regen, and maybe you could have a PBAoE ally +speed +recharge +recovery +regeneration, similar to Accelerate Metabolism...Accelerate time maybe? I would LOVE this to happen!

EDIT: actually, thinking about it, Time Control could also be a controller secondary, because of the Accelerate Time buff, and you could also have a resurrect power which would simply be the animation for dying reversed I like!
  11. You mention gravity... I also have a grav/kin but I find I can rarely apply FS to singy because 1. His attacks are ranged and 2. If he DOES jump into a mob, he flings them all away Therefore, yet again, my 2 sets don't really meld very well. I'm almost fed up of my ill/kin so do you have any tips for my grav instead?
  12. Thanks for the input Psiphon, I'd already planned to take the stone epic pool because it seems to be the best choice by far. And now after hearing that it's able to redeem this build despite its clashing play styles, I have higher hopes for my troller. Although, I think I'm going to shelf my ill/kin for now, but I will definitely come back to him.
  13. Finally! jab is an actual jab! I'm liking all the new animations, I hope they include new animations in future expansions.

Does anybody know when Going Rogue will be released? Or beta dates?
  14. All this said, could some of you post up your builds please? I'm pretty excited about my earth/storm!
  15. Wow, nice response to Earth/Storms here. I've been looking for a nice controller build to level and then I thought about Earth/Storm but I didn't know whether it would actually be any good. But after the love shown here, I'm definitely going to roll one
  16. Hey guys, my ill/kin just hit level 41 and I can see exactly what your talking about. FS doesn't help my pets whatsoever, and without a proper group hold, phantasm just scatters enemies. Sucks that I've only realised now, but I think I'm going to play around with some other controller builds (storm sounds interesting) and probably roll an ill/rad seeing as they sound pretty cool. Thanks for the help guys.
  17. really? I thought Spectral Terror was terrorble (see what I did there? heh =]) due to it making some foes run away in panic...that's almost as bad as knockback.

  19. Thanks for all your input guys, I've decided that stone IS the most useful epic pool IMO. I'm still tweaking my build and I'll post it up soon.
  20. well I was thinking of taking fissure, seismic smash and earth's embrace and slotting 3 heals in it simply because I don't like rock armours look. I'm now working on a revised build, but slightly off topic...what in your opinion are the most damaging controller builds other than fire/kin?
  21. thanks for the feedback guys. I can see your point, I think ill swap flash and deceive around and try to fit phantom army in there somewhere too. What's stone mastery like as an ancillary pool? the big damage and AoE sound fun.
  22. I've played around with controllers in the past but I don't think I've ever leveled one above level 18, so I'm thinking of making an illusion/kinetics controller because I wanted to be slightly more original than just fire/kin. I whipped up a build quickly on mid's hero designer at work and I'd appreciate it if I could get some feedback, thank you!

As I mentioned just five posts above yours...I bought mine this morning (a couple of hours ago) and had no problems at all. It is slightly laggy so make sure you only click once on things.
