  1. But only with the first vet?

EDIT: Not that it matters, I suppose. If you pick the first one for your origin, then you wouldn't need the second one to *give* the bonus. But what if you chose a different weapon based on an aesthetic choice, or by mistake?
  2. I think I'll go look up the origin bonuses on those two powers, just so that I know.

Tbh, either both vets should have the bonus, or neither should. Otherwise it doesn't make sense, imo

    Swift Justice?

Ok, so last night I ran a flashback story arc, almost like a mini-TF, with three other members of my Super Group. It was the Countess Crey arc ('On the run'), issued by Janet Kellum, in the level 40-45 range. I have to say, perhaps it's just how older story arcs / content were written, but it seems a bit.... plot-holey.

Let's recap. You find out that a the supposed body of a missing girl was NOT actually the body of a missing girl, but the body of someone else. You take hair from this body to Kestrel, who gets his mojo working to uncover the true identity of the dead body. You tell your contact this - a litle else, and all of a sudden:

(POSSIBLE SPOILER IF YOU'VE NOT PLAYED THE ARC ? STOP NOW IF YOU'RE WORRIED)

"I knew it! According to Kestrel's magic, that body belonged to Clarissa can Dorn. That means that Countess Crey isn't the real Clarissa. No. Countess Crey is Julianne Thompson, the girl we've been trying to find. After she found that her prison record prevented her from gaining power the honest way, Juliane killed the real Clarissa, assuming her identity, and married Count Crey under false pretenses! This is the biggest break we've ever had against the countess. We may even be able to convict her for murder!"

I'm sorry, Ms. Kellum, but you have NO evidence. Don't you watch CSI? Hell, even Numbers, for shame? Just because on dead body isn't another, does not mean that the person who SHOULD be dead, is the murderer! Hell, with Rikti mutation, Nemesis Automatons, Devouring Earth conversions and getting lost in other dimensions - how on earth can you stand there and go - MURDER!

The worst part? You believe her, and go out after Countess Crey.

So - if you ask me - Janet Kellum is Countess Crey and the whole thing is a cover up. That, or Paragon justice is horribly corrupt.
  4. I worked at a GAME store during my time at University, and wound up with a fistful of the CoV pre-order packs. If you register that, you unlock one of the villain helmets.

I'll have to check - I may still have a few spare...
  5. So Techs, Nats and Magic origins get bonuses.

    As a Science-based hero, I'm offended! :O

I'm not sure I understand the point of turn off the origin bonus of the second veteran weapon choice you make....?

Unless the release notes are wrong, and all of the origin bonuses were turned off?
  6. Ok - so I got a bit confused. I remember reading this:

"Powers granted by the 54 month veteran badge no longer gain a bonus to damage dependent upon the character’s origin."

In the I13 patch notes. But I was under the impression that the ONLY power to get a boost from your origin was the Black Wand? Am I wrong about this? Did the others? Nemesis Staff? Sands of Mu? Ghost Slaying Axe? I didn't think origin affected these?
  7. Might use that one myself - never thought of that - would certainly save having to press Ctrl+F5...
  8. In all fairness, many super-powered speedsters have similar outfits. A simple spandex bodysuit, slim boots, and in many cases (apart from DC's The Flash and Marvel's Quicksilver) Goggles. It's a 'speedster' thing - if you're running that fast, you don't want bugs in your eyes.

Tbh, Synapse simply follows the 'speedster' design. His colouring is different, as is his cheast logo. His electrical powers differ to many speedters, too, who usually *just* have speed powers.

    I think Synapse is safe.
  9. Shouldn't this be in technical issues?
  10. I agree with Shadowe. I can't see double merits happening - but it would CERTAINLY be welcome!
  11. I think, given the day jobs (and my suggestion to increase the number of markers), this idea is brilliant. You make your own marker (however temporary - but more 'permanent' than a thumbtack) so that you can mark where you need to go to log off (police stations, for example, which aren't marked and *not* always near city-zone detectives).
  12. How about a possible 'on/off' switch, that turns items from 'accessible' to 'aesthetic'? Rather than doubling up the number of items available, whilst all looking the same?
  13. It's always nice to flex my comic-book knowledge-y muscle:

That, is 'Speed Demon' - a Marvel speedster (in the picture you linked, he is the central one, with Quicksilver on the left and the Whizzer on the right).

Speed Demon was recently a member of the New Thunderbolts, a reformed villain who once worethe guise of the Whizzer, but as a villain, and not the classic hero.

  14. My 'main control room' looks quite pretty, and I'd love to add the holodisplay - but since I've got my main control system aux'd up with the mission computer, I'd need another primary control system before I can place a 'live' holodisplay. seems a bit daft...
  15. It sounds nice - but I'm sure it would open up way too many loopholes. I'll keep my 'signing' for now until it's discussed a little further. However, it sounds like something that can be taken advantage of in bad ways...
  16. I'm suggesting it *before* I get there
  17. Now - how about something to go *with* the badge?
  18. Well, the veteran reward *is* the badge...

i.e. All you get is a veteran reward badge, and a respec...
  19. Thinking of making a big, green Mace/Shield tank?
  20. Ah, I suppose. Yeah, I would like to place some control-graphic items without having to have them 'link' to something to turn on.

  22. It has been discussed in another thread (I don't see this as cross-posting, but if it is, I'll request that the other thread is closed) that the 45 month veteran reward, which is just a badge and a respec - and that's it. Out of all of the veteran rewards, which give powers, costume pieces, or base items - it is 'hollow'. The strange part is, veteran rewards that follow it actually continue the power/item/costume theme.

Suggestion: Give the 45 month veteran reward something worthwhile? Rather than 'nothing'
