Quote:The Lights bug is pretty much what stopped me from attempting any badge runs for Magisterium thus far. For all of the badges you need to complete the trial for it to award. I'd hate to see a league succeed at the badges only to lose the last fight due to the bug.I would hate to see a badge run derailed by a league not getting enough shifts from the Lights to take down Tyrant.
I'm planning to start weekly Magisterium badge runs once the level shift bug gets fixed. (Starting with Ready to Rumble/Triple Threat/The Hard Way most people will have Shadow Master and we'd probably pick it up without special effort anyway and working on The Really Hard Way afterwards.) I'll probably run them Sunday afternoons, since that time seemed to work for a lot of people when I was doing Keyes.
Since you're going to run MoMagisterium on Sundays what I'll probably do is use Saturdays to wrap up the last few badges people need from the other trials. -
Quote:I'm thrilled to have confirmation of this.Arbiter Hawk's official word on the subject.
Summary:
1. The level shifts have a target cap of 16. This will be fixed in an upcoming patch.
2. Tyrant can drain power from Olympian Guards, gaining extra to-hit and smashing damage.
3. Dying and hosping has no effect on Tyrant. -
Quote:Welcome back to the game! If you're just starting out with iTrials I'd recommend BAF, Lambda or Keyes. If you have any questions about the Incarnate system I would gladly answer them.I would love to get in on some trials. I have been away from the game for a little while and I am not sure which ones I need to complete.
Amygdala; If possible I would love an invite to ChampioNexus. I have already checked out the guild and what not. Anyways, hopefully I'll see some of you soon.
I sent you an offline tell in game. Let me know if you don't receive it. -
I think part of the problem lies in the fact that the Wiki said this just a few days ago:
"Once Tyrant is below 50% health, a bar appears showing his "Favor of the Well", a number which directly affects his regeneration. If defeated players retreat to the hospital when Tyrant is below 50% health, it increases his Favor, granting him a regeneration buff."
It was recently changed to this:
"Once Tyrant is below 50% health, a bar appears showing his "Favor of the Well", a number which directly affects his regeneration. Favor of the Well will increase by two points for every % of his MaxHP that Tyrant drops below 50. Similarly, Favor of the Well decreases by two points for every %MaxHP that Tyrant regenerates."
And looks like it was just changed again to mention something about Olympian Guards. At this point I believe most of it is speculation and theory.
The article in Massively seems to suggest he gets some sort of buff from people going to the "astral limbo". However, I think it's too soon to say conclusively what effect this has. -
Quote:So far I've been hosting badge runs for various trials every Saturday at 8pm Eastern. I've been checking this thread and rotating them accordingly. When do you run these typically? I may transfer my Badger over from freedom. Ive heard nothing but good things about your endeavors. And I desperately need avoids the green.
I think there are some people who still need Green Stuff so I may run it again, but it probably won't be for a few weeks. Next week I have RL obligations and the following week will probably be a MoBAF. I imagine there will be interest in MoMagisterium as well.
If you would like I can send you a PM when Keyes comes up again. You're welcome to join us. -

Quote:I'm still not 100% sure about this. What lead me to believe this might be happening was the section Cobalt quoted and what was written in the Wiki article. However, it seems someone made an edit only recently and specifically changed that part. You and Amygdala are absolutely correct. Tyrant does indeed get a buff from people using the hospital. It's worth noting that the temp power Revival (self rez power) is not greyed out during the trial - and it makes you untouchable for a fraction of a second. (long enough to retoggle I've found)
Before:
"Once Tyrant is below 50% health, a bar appears showing his "Favor of the Well", a number which directly affects his regeneration. If defeated players retreat to the hospital when Tyrant is below 50% health, it increases his Favor, granting him a regeneration buff."
After:
"Once Tyrant is below 50% health, a bar appears showing his "Favor of the Well", a number which directly affects his regeneration. Favor of the Well will increase by two points for every % of his MaxHP that Tyrant drops below 50. Similarly, Favor of the Well decreases by two points for every %MaxHP that Tyrant regenerates."
The fact it was edited out raises some questions for me about the accuracy of the information.
It's also worth noting that last night we ran 2 trials back to back with virtually the same league. The league leader specifically told people to stay out of the hospital. The first trial succeeded while the second failed. It was unclear how much of an influence staying out of the hospital had on his regen.
I have also read elsewhere on the forums that the level shift buff you get from the lights is called [Notice of the Well]. It says that it caps at 16 people. This would explain why on a 24 man league only some people were getting the shifts. However, I tested a 16 man league and the shifts were still highly variable. Overall it did not seem to make a difference. It was mentioned that perhaps pets are counting against the cap, but I'm fairly certain we didn't have any pets out at the time.
Other people have suggested that the buff is limited to the team of someone who took a light out. This has not been true for any of the trials that I've done. I've specifically spread out people dedicated to the lights across the 3 teams. Heck, I've even not gotten shifts after taking one out myself. Teams do not seem to influence this bug at all.
As far as I can tell, it's random who gets shifted and who does not, the length of time you might get shifted, etc. -
Just a heads up, I won't be hosting any MoTrials next week due to RL obligations. Will probably pick them back up the following Saturday.
-
And crushed a MoM after to get Perfect Storm. Probably the best MoM I've seen in a while. Awesome league!
-
Congrats to everyone that came out. We absolutely destroyed this. Well done!

Quote:I just ran a 16 man trial to test this. Still variable level shifts across the league. People calling out a mix of 3s and 9s each time the lights were taken out.Defeating the lights gives a buff called [Notice of the Well], a 5,000ft (I think) radius aoe buff that hits 16 targets max, yeah SIXTEEN. On my leagues above 16 I have observed not everyone getting all the level shifts.
I didn't control for pets, but I don't recall any being out until I called for Lore later on. May have to retest for it. -
Quote:As far as I understand it, the lights aren't supposed to affect his regen.I have not been monitoring the level shift on champion, but on other servers have not ever seen it change. Of course, have not come close to actually defeating Tyrant. Also the regen Tyrant gets from the Light seems huge.
From Arbiter Hawk:
Quote:Originally Posted by Arbiter HawkTyrant's Regeneration is tied only to his health, not to the number of Light of the Well which remain alive. As Tyrant's health goes down, his regeneration goes up, in accordance with the bar displayed in the UI for Tyrant's "Favor of the Well". -
It appears that the lights may not be functioning properly during the final fight of this trial.
Per Arbiter Hawk:
Quote:I have noticed on several occasions that, despite no lights present, I was still at +3 only. The picture in this post clearly depicts this issue.Originally Posted by Arbiter HawkThe Light of the Well exist for one purpose and one purpose only - for each one which is not currently present, the entire league receives a level shift. This allows Leagues playing through the trial without chasing after badges to more than compensate for Tyrant's +5 level shift - if they regularly take out all the lights, they can climb to 50+9, or +10 with Ultimate inspirations, during the course of the fight. -
Quote:I'll second this. It's definitely not working that way, and for the life of me I could not figure out what affected it, which makes me think it's some sort of bug.
I ran a few Magisterium trials tonight and had a few friends monitor their level shifts. On one of the runs I was +3 about 90% of the time even though all the lights were out. I quickly clicked on my league mates to check shifts and noticed that several people were +9 while several were +3. So as of right now it does not appear to be working as a league-wide/zone-wide buff.
I'll also add that I tried this having certain people on the lights, those people members of all 3 teams (to rule out the team influence). Even clicking on people of the same team showed variable levels. There were times where I personally took out a light and remained unshifted. -
By the way, if anyone wants to read up on the badges for this trial, check out Snow Globe's post here. Note that there are 4 badges (other than the badge for completion) that count towards MoMagisterium and one badge that does not.

So I was kind of expecting i23 to go live June 5th or sometime thereafter, but looks like it is going live tomorrow.
This may decrease the interest in a MoTPN. However, I'll still show up to run this at the time listed. As long as we can get the minimum needed to start (12 players) I will proceed with the trial. -
I'll be looking to run one after I get home from work and grab something to eat. That is, if no one has started one already.
-
Congrats to Spatch for reaching 50 on their Electric/Shield Scrapper, Form of Spatch!

Quote:I should have probably added that previous experience with TPN isn't necessary, but helpful.Note: I haven't actually run TPN before, anything I should know/prepare?
I'll go over the badge requirements before we start, but the meat of the trial involves boosting a progress bar called Public Opinion. It's the yellow bar in your trial UI. The way to boost it is to click the glowing terminals found inside the 3 buildings on the map. Before a terminal can be clicked, the Technician guarding it must be defeated. The Technician cannot be damaged until the IDF around it are pulled away or defeated. So the order of events is usually run into building > pull IDF away > spike Technician > click terminal. Keep doing that until Public Opinion reaches 500. Public Opinion also declines over time, so if the league is especially slow at clicking terminals, it's possible to fail the trial if it reaches zero.
That is what 90% of the league will be focused on. We will also have a small team of people with strong single target damage that will focus on Telepathists, which are bosses that spawn outside. For every Telepathist alive, a map wide debuff is applied to the league. They also have the ability to brainwash civilians into attacking the league.
Throw in a few fights with Maelstrom and that is TPN in a nutshell. It's a fairly repetitive trial. If you'd like more information on it, I'd recommend reading this overview and looking at Master of TPN Campus from Paragon Wiki. -
Quote:I find my Gravity/Dark Controller to be highly useful on iTrials to the point where it's become my main trial toon. Wormhole makes pulling mobs away from terminals so much easier. This applies to Keyes, TPN, and UGT (where pulling mobs from crystals lowers their regen). You can also use it to pull Voids in MoM to position them exactly where you want.I do love my grav/storm despite always feeling completely irrelevant in itrials.
As for Dimension Shift, I use it mostly on Lambda during the collection phase. You can put it down behind you as you're running through the map so that anything following you gets trapped in it, or you can Wormhole troublesome mobs into it. -

This Saturday June 2nd at 8pm Eastern in Pocket D I will host a MoTPN run. We should be able to get all the badges in one run. If for some reason we miss one, I'll run it again.
I suspect most players already have MoTPN but I know of a few that still need it and can't make the trials run during the week. So if you plan on attending, please post to let me know if you actually need the badges and would like to reserve a spot or are just coming to help. I will give priority to those needing the badge.
I will start forming at 7:30pm in Pocket D. Please bring level shifted characters if possible. See you then! -
It's alright, Placta. Life happens. You had me a little worried though.
