I logged on an old toon to get tips and did not get any drops in 3 missions and also there was no info guy in my tips page. On the 4th mission though I got a tip drop and the guy showed up so maybe it's a lag issue with older toons.

Then you don't need provoke .
Just walk up to a group and you will get the alpha or better yet use your attack or drop a tarpatch. Provoke is supposed to be used to keep the aggro on yourself all the time.

Provoke is really meh for mm's. It is very weak by itself because the pets attacks reduce it's taunt time severly. It can add taunt on top of your own attacks but I don't think it's worth the slot.

Oh right your saying it's one of those "talk to the corpse on the ground" situations that's catching every one out (including me).

This is in the mission Buffoons Left Hand Villain tip. I rescued Shock Treatment and he said he will help me clear the base but he wouldn't move and clicking on him did nothing. After I moved away he said his wait for me dialogue.
After I rescued him a foe called Hollow Point attacked me but when I was close to defeating him he tp'd away in a force bubble so I didn't get the xp for his defeat which may have bugged the ally mode.

Is it the same character or all your old characters cause I find I have to turn them off when I log onto an old character for the first time since i18.

Then it should have said Mission Failed. Obviously bugged and it's good you provided feedback but please post in the technical issues and bugs section.

If the passwords are the same maybe changing the password for the paid account will work, if that doesn't you may need to contact customer service to get that account name changed.

Check your account page do you have 2 accounts or 1? Did you upgrade your trial account or buy a new one?

Last time I teamed on my ds/pain hero side I just used the demon prince for the ice holds. Noone complained.

If you do feel like rolling something else take a look at Demon Summoning/Pain Domination while it is not as strong as bot/traps in the late game it is much more fun for a beginning player.

I made a post in another thread explaining that gr was going to be mostly solo and I got shouted down.

I find it fascinating that people come to mmorpg's and expect to pay a one off payment like it was a single player game that lasts 10 hours tops.

Oh sorry anecdotes. Well solo pain is more fun for me because you can respond to trouble rather than having to prepare in advance constantly, once you hit 20 you can set suppress pain and forget it. I did a long sf once can't remember which and had to fill the role of the healer so I dropped my demonlings and sat back healing and let my demons and the prince do whatever, I got a lot of ty 4 healz.

A) Therm is more survivable I guess but you can get in trouble with timings of shields.

Yes. Khelds unlock from heroes reaching 20 only, Spideys unlock from villains reaching 20 only. (ie sideswitching after reaching 20 doesn't count).
