-Mud pots : 3 EndRed, this one's a hog
-Rooted : just 3 heals, it really doesn't use much end
-Swift : no need to 3 slot it. With just one slot, running in granite is perfectly fine, especially if you have TP. With rooted on, nothing will save you, except TP, even with a 6 slotted swift.
-Health : as a stone tank, you only need one slot. Earth's Embrace + rooted will take care of everything
-Aid other : you prolly can find something better to take at 49
-Your attacks could use better slotting : your two basic attacks, which you will use ALL the time for fury building, are heavily underslotted. Give em some rchg and end reds, you'll be spamming them.
With granite, you're gonna want at least 2 rchg in each attack.
Elec is slow. Granite is even slower. Both combine will make you weep tears of blood with your posted build.
-As far as Patron powers go, GW really ain't that good for a brute. Might wanna take BS/Mako instead to bring down fliers : remember, in rooted/granite, you can't jump.
And last but definitely not least : you are only taking rock armor and granite from /stone ? Do yourself a favor and take the other armors (you can skip brimstone, most ppl do), even if you spec out of em post granite (which is a mistake anyway). Minerals, for instance, is great : psi def, and +perc, great against those pesky smoke grenades. -

Just to comment that, how good is spirit shark to catch fliers ? I'm taking BS on my brute mainly for the Web grenade (although I like the spider pet too), but if spirit shark does the same job, I might go for Mako instead, for diversity's sake. -
You're gonna get 50 replies of "It's a PvP zone, live with it", but what it boils down to is that no matter which game, you will always, always find idiots/retards/lamers (take your pick) when it comes to PvP.
The ability to do whatever you want to your opponent because it's a pvp zone doesn't mean it allows you to be a total idiot, but the CS kiddies will disagree I'm sure. -
It's not listed in the power description (which is why she went for Acro in the first place), but test it in game, it does have stun prot.
Basically, we tested it out like this :
One build with all shields on, and acrobatics.
Then the exact same build, same slotting, same everything, but acro swapped out for grounded.
First build got stunned every time against longbows and freaks, second build has yet to get stunned.
So while it's not listed in the power, it's there. -
If you do, it's not doing much.
My wife has a 42 Elec/Elec brute.
She first picked acrobatics, and with static running, kept getting stunned by every single Nullifier / Spec ops longbow, every single Freakshow. Spec'd out of Acro, took Grounded, never got stunned ever since -

It doesn't have KB prot tho
But like I said, I might take fly instead of SJ and if I do I obviously won't take Acro, which would let me take one more power. Would have to find a way to three a couple slots for Hover though, since at base speed it's unbearable.
Any idea what would get the highest hover speed : 3 slotted Swiftness or 3 slotted fly ? My Hero builder doesn't seem to take into account that swiftness now increases fly speed.
And btw, thanks a lot for your help and input, finding out builds for power sets you've never played is always a pain -
Get it and spec out of it after you get Power Sink if you don't need it

In fact, for a PvE brute I'd say grounded is far better than Acro, since it has Stun prot.

Aye, matter of taste, ever since I first took SJ, every other travel power seems slow as hell
Might take fly again tho, who knows
Also, regarding the leadership pool : I used to have it on Aerys, only to have to recast it every 2 freakshows because of their stun, so not too thrilled about it
And taking Acro for the KB/hold prot, I got scarred for the rest of my life by playing Aerys for about 40 levels without it Don't think I could bear skipping it after playing brutes and stalkers who just don't even know what KB or hold is. Too bad it doesn't have Stun prot.

Choices, choices...
Trying to figure out a build that fits everything I want in it (yes, including beanbag ^^) but it's proving harder than to buy a PS3 at launch
Also, regarding the PPP, I know the AE hold/immob would prove useful for ignite, but I want GW for two reasons : haven't taken her yet, and wanna see soul drain + full auto in action. Besides, if my wife sticks with /rad, all mobs should be at the slow cap Not as good as a mass immob, but not too bad either.
Well, still working a build, trying to take yours as a starting point. Will post something in a bit. -

Why no M30 Grenade and no Buckshot ?
I don't mind having only a couple attacks for a while as brute (did that with my SS/Stone), but as a corr, meh.
For some reason, I don't want beanbag, don't ask me why, I just don't like it
Last but not least, don't intend to take the medicine pool, I just loathe it. Instead I'll force my wife to have a heal (there's a mistake in my previous post regarding this btw, my partner will either be fire/RAD or ice/ice, both have heals ) -

Plan is to PvE, duo with more than likely another corr (either fire/fire or ice/ice).
Don't mind the order in which powers are listed, it doesn't reflect the actual order in which I'll take them. -
Hmm, back to the drawing board for some /traps builds then.
Which powers would you skip in the set ?
From looking at it, I'd say Caltrops, Triage, Seeker and Time Bomb can be left out.
From AR, I only really see Beanbag that should be left out, this is gonna be quite tight..

I've seen this type of comment quite a lot and it's, with all due respect, a bit dumb.
You use SJ to travel, not in missions where you actually want your KB prot from grounded. That's kinda like saying SJ and Rooted don't mix. You just don't use them at the same time, ever. Unless you're doing PvP which means you'll more than likely take Acro.
So yes, SJ and Grounded do mix. -
Alrighty, after playing my dom alt for 8 levels I deleted it before it could drive me insane with the 65 minutes it took to kill a level 1 crate.
So, back to the drawing board, and decided, in a fit of post-dom madness, to roll an AR ruptor.
Can't decide on a secondary powerset tho.
Rad : already have it on my ice/rad, love it to bits, not much to discover here sadly
Cold : tried it on an NRG/Cold ruptor, didn't really do the trick for me
Dark : never played it myself, but thinking that fearsome stare wouldn't work too well with the cones attacks from AR
Thermal : no, just no.
Sonic : can't bear the animations and sounds, so prolly will never try that one. Unless it really owns, but I don't think so.
Traps : was thinking of trying that one, but about half the powers in the set seem really meh and just a plain waste of time in teams. Also the level 38 power sucks big time. I liked the concept of AR / Traps tho.
Kin : I'd really really really like to enjoy playing this set, but sadly from the couple tries I've given it, I don't =/ Would be the obvious choice otherwise. I might give it another try, dunno.
I plan to duo 99% of the time, or team up, pretty much no solo at all, and no pvp.
Sooo, what do you guys think works best with AR ? I don't care much with FoTM builds, just want something fun and that actually works, hate being gimped
And to add to that, AR seems quite a tight set, with not many skippable powers imo, which really doesn't help -

Trying to get a build for my latest alt, an Ice/NRG dominator, the only dom combo I've enjoyed so far.
Purely PvE, probably no solo at all (my wife rolled her own Grav/NRG dom to team up with mine).
Bear in mind I've never played a dominator past level 10 or so, and thus have no idea what I'm doing at all

Comments and suggestions are more than welcome, would really like to enjoy a dom in a long run, since it's the only AT I don't play at all.
Also, I'm not too sure about Flash Freeze, it sounds kinda meh since it's a sleep and doms tend to AE quite a bit..could be useful as a panic power though I guess.
And last but not least, don't mind the order in which the powers are listed, or the level at which the enhancements are taken, that's purely for information's sakes and doesn't reflect the order I actually take them in game. Basically I take the powers I feel I need, when I feel I need them
