  2. What if there was a search feature that you could use, to find out whether there were existing discussions about things? That way, people could see what others have written on the subject, and add their ideas without cluttering the forum with a new thread about something that's been beaten to death over the 5 years of the game's forums!

    TL;DR version:

    Search. This has been brought up, even just a couple days ago.

  5. Bill - it's not IP it's those in Brickstown and Founders that are the real problem ones. I had one in Bricks as I recall, that NEVER ONCE sent me to a mission IN bricks. Then of course there's Crimson and Indigo who literally have you running each other's missions. The only saving grace here is that the base transporters to their zones (FF and PI) open you up right near them.

    Why not have the game generate random costume pieces. Take for example , a pair of gloves. A glove has some standard shape atributes, and some that vary from model to model. A randomizer software that takes in consideration some variables related to shape,size and texture (talking about the 2 separate designs on each costume piece that can be individually colored) would bring that infinity amount of costumes you can create with the actual creator to an actual infinite.
    So you`d hit the random button until you get some pair of ... squarish gloves (shape variables could be : no. of square, angle, spherical shapes used) and with a design you like. You hit the copy button and voila, the rest of the costume pieces are generated to resemble the same style.
    They don`t have to match the graphic complexity of magic boosters pack (that come with a theme in mind), but would sure bring a LOT more customization to the game.
    Because this is not how the costume pieces are made. That would never be put into the game because it would introduce bugs like crazy, clipping issues to say the very least, and simply put, not look good at all.

    Costume pieces are extensively tested before going live and only after hearing the tremendously unending cries of "BUT WE WANT IT NOW!" has Sexy Jay and the other devs put things in the game that clip heavily (the Valk wings for instance, and the Witch objects from the magic pack). Normally, things were not allowed *at all* that would clip from one body build to another. So... introducing something that would have to run ... where? Client side? Server side? How could this 'random' button even be put into a game that's live with multiple thousands of players? So... no.

    Everyone plays differently. If you didn't take the 3 or however many melee powers from your secondary Energy set way earlier than level 38, that's your business. I take mine the moment they're available. That is to say, before level 10.

    Just because they say they want something, doesn't mean it's feasable or balanced for the game. It was already said HELL NO that certain AT's would not get certain things - but some of those were re-balanced and ported with proliferation later on. They aren't the SAME versions, but they exist.

    Um.... have you just never learned how to slot your enhancements? With IO sets now, we've got TONS of ways to make every single powerset in this game more flexible, more powerful, and more useful for EVERYONE. This includes those great melee things you keep dissing in favor of 'blasters must be at range'. We're not always at range with opponents. Gotta get past that "holy trinity" (healer/tank/damage dealer) ideal.

    and.... this game is well over 2 gigs. What's your point? The collision cylinders in this game are very different from those single-player fps games you seem to try and want it to be. This isn't one of those and can't act like it is. The entire engine is different than you kinda seem to like. Also remember, this game has to run on everyone's computer, and over many different bandwidth carrying lines. One person's emote might mean another's lag.

    Sometimes the login server is messed up, while the servers themselves are just fine. That does happen regularly.

    however, note well that the Test server is up for Closed Beta on I16 right now, so you may or may not be allowed to get in that at all. But yeah, the server page is ... in its own dreamy little world.

  10. If you head into the appropriate section for SUGGESTIONS AND IDEAS (hint hint) right now there IS already a discussion about this. And several dozen more if you do a search

    Short answer: no. No city of jetbikes.

  11. Each animation comes with its own appropriate sounds that last for the duration of the power and (normally) match the effect/animation. I don't really want some unmatched sounds coming up. Even short blasts last different times, so... it'd be difficult to make something like this work without looking and sounding like a badly dubbed movie.

    However, I would love to see us get different grunts, taunt sounds, etc - not necessarily voice acting, but at least a variety of sounds like clockwork, bellowing, etc in addition to the generic male/female/huge we have.
  12. You won't get thousands of players together ever - each zone has a cap of around 200 players which is why we get multiple instanced zones.

    The game can only render a small number of objects (players, npc's, enemies, effects, pets) at once.

    I liked the old Hami raids. I don't like the new one.

    Justice is one of the top 3 servers kind of tying with Infinity around now, ... there is NOT a population problem, and every indication I've seen - INCLUDING talking to the devs about the population of the game - is that the game is way more popular right now than it has been for years.

    People aren't in the zone per se, they are in their mission maps. All instanced.

    If you want to have a raid *organize one*. Don't just sit there saying you love it. Do something about it.

    More things are on their way. (refer again - because I know I've linked and suggested you see it at least once - to my comic con panel thread, where the devs talk about GR and the new content.) They will take time to make, perfect, test and go live.

    If you want "more stuff like that" you need to prepare more detailed information - you need to understand how the game engine works a little better than you do, and have a fully fleshed out suggestion. I too would like to see a Giant Robot out there now and then - but what's the details on it? How does it materialize? What causes it to come out and play? Think on those things, be ready to change your mind about things.

    Stop blaming the developers of this game, for introducing a sandbox style of play that was meant to be enjoyed and not exploited.

    Turn your anger instead on the individual people who abuse that system and find every way they can of producing an "I win" button.

    THEY are to blame. Not the game, not the devs, not the players who have made fantastic story arcs in the AE.

    AE is not ruining the game. Stupid, impatient people are ruining your experience of the game. Blame them please. Thanks.

    Bringing PVP to people it's not already being used by is NOT an endearing factor of any idea. Keeping PVP to its own area, and making it optional IS endearing. It keeps people like me who DO like to have gladiator matches and will pvp in the arena with friends, interested just enough for there to be a system in place. Anything more than that is NOT what I came to this game to do. PVP did not exist until LONG after I started playing, and the fact that it wasn't IN the original game was an attraction point for me. I don't like pvp in general, I don't play "against" other people. I like cooperating with them, not popping a cap in their rear. I don't find it funny, fun or entertaining.

    So... no. Keep the pvp zones optional, for those who enjoy them. Do not under any circumstance interrupt anyone else's pve game for the sake of someone's gank count.

    Blasters are ranged and melee. You can then take pool powers to flesh out the melee if you really need to.

    The problem with mixing certain powersets together - as evidenced by the AE and how people create their npc's - is they are either WAY overpowered, or WAY gimped. Player characters don't need to be either one of those.

    Corruptors and Blasters have pretty much all-offense all the time. Melee and ranged.
