Quote:Yes, it is cheaper to just get the whole bundle. For clarification, I meant the high-collar mantle.
The High collar mantle pack costs 440 points, while the magic bundle costs 400
That is why I asked.
For a comparison from the old packs to the new bundles, see the following google spreadsheet:
Booster Pack comparision.

In my experience with Keyes, saying that it has a higher chance of rares/very rares is an outright lie. Since that supposed change in November, I've received 12 commons, 8 uncommons, 6 rares, 5 very rares from Keyes. From my perspective, it is still heavily weighted to commons.

This has been proven not to work during the Penelope phase. That is what I've been trying to say.
Also broken if your powerset rez animates you in the "wrong" way. This has been slightly changed with some of the upcoming patches.
And they are not a factor in the main area of failure.Quote:Most likely you will fail because:
-People are dieing too much. People dieing means less dps, less buffs/debuffs, and wasted time recovering. People dieing too much is typically attributed from people not paying attention to the pink circles. Rebirth makes the Pink Circles significantly less lethal, checking to make sure your league has a couple of rebirths before the trial starts helps alot.
This shouldn't be a factor as to whether an awaken actually works.
Graphics check again. There is no distinction between the area where Aurora is and where the AV fight is.Quote:-Aurora doesn't get healed. This can be completely avoided by making a quick check before the trial starts for a couple people that have rebirth.
Requiring everything including the kitchen sink for a trial that maxes out at 16 players is unreasonable.Quote:-GM's aren't pulled killed properly next to Tilman and/or there is insufficient mezzing. This can be averted before the trial begins by making sure there is a couple of people that can control and that people with knockback are informed not to use such powers on the GMs.
-Insufficient mez protection on the last 2 stages. 2 Clarions is all this trial needs. It's a far cry from the 4-7 clarions required for UGT. Making sure there is at least 2 clarions before the trial starts makes this a non issue.
-Insufficient level shifts, meaning less dps, more death, and less incarnate powers. Requiring at least +1 is an easy work around. If you feel there isn't enough level shifts to complete MoM then run a different trial.
The rez system in MoM is a highly abusive game mechanic that doesn't have a place in any game, much less this one.Quote:All of the above can be worked around to make sure you won't run into those issues. The rez system in MoM can make the above more pressuring, but it is not the direct cause of the [supposedly] high fail rate on MoM. At best the rez system in MoM is an easy scapegoat for why you're really failing. -
-
Quote:It IS retarded*. It isn't fun. It IS highly abusive of the developers for including it when they don't provide a reasonable alternative to the rez system in that trial. It is also the direct cause of the trial having a high failure rate, which I personally find unacceptable.MOM's rezz system isn't technically broken.
It is, however, fundamentally awful.
* (retard) be delayed. -
Quote:Given that I've not received my stipend this month, it is entirely possible they broke something (again).Hello, everyone!
Just this morning I was considering acquiring some of the costume pieces I have yet to purchase. So, I go to the Paragon market window to check them out, and it seems to me that my total points are 400 lower than they should be.
Now, I'm open to the possibility that I did buy something but just don't remember. However, there doesn't seem to be any means to review my prior purchases on the Paragon market. Is that correct? Is there really no stored history for what you buy?
Everything else about my account is tracked as evidenced by the list of payments and purchases under My Account. I find it puzzling that there doesn't seem to be a record for the Paragon market.
Any ideas? How do I verify that my point total is accurate?
Check your account, billing, microtransactions section for the last day you got a stipend.

As you can see, I didn't get my stipend for the month of February, despite getting the stipend on the 8th of December and January. Also despite that my next billing date is in Feb 2013.
As to your purchase history the market history is, to put it bluntly, crap. -
Thanks to all that showed up for this! It was nice to hit 50 during the raid!
-
Bull.
Specific example: Being penalized for use of the trial's rez while making the available inspirations (awakens) useless is broken. Simply put, using an awaken during the Penelope phase of MoM is a complete waste of time, yet that is the only rez inspiration available in the trial.
Another example: The War Walkers 3 modes in the UGT are broken as they do not provide enough warning to players not being targeted to get away from said targets.
Another example: The Lichen Infected War Walker doesn't provide any visual clue as to what lichens are affecting its regeneration. -
Quote:And the Incarnate System is supposed to be a selling point to being a VIP.Incarnate trials are an optional part of the game much like pvp and RP
And that is about as useful of a suggestion as a server merge.Quote:my advice is if you cannot find what you want on your "home" server then you may need/want to branch out to a different server
I've pointed out where there are problems with some of the trials. Even people that disagree with me as to whether or not Triumph in particular should be more active doing them agree that I've found spots on the trials where they aren't working properly. -
Quote:I used that to do an impromptu MS raid... On Triumph... Netting close to 700 Vanguard Merits for me.I did a ;spittake great inside joke for us oldies
Here's the text for those who aren't lucky enough to stumble upon it.

Quote:Well, I got my stipend on Dec 8th and Jan 8th, but I didn't get my stipend today. Additionally, there were not one but TWO concurrent limited sales for 400 points. Also we're about to get hit with one or two MORE before the end of the month. The Imperial Dynasty set is likely to land in the next two weeks, and it will likely be 400 points. Additionally I suspect that there will be another Valentine's offer before the end of the month.I haven't been paying attention to how long the packs are on sale but have the devs been putting packs on sale for less then a month?
We can sit around and argue that limited time offers are bad but atleast with a month long sale window every ViP will have a chance to buy it. That ViP is going to get 400 pts at some time during the month. If these packs are being offered for less then a month that hurts ViPs who are awarded their stipend outside of the dates the pack is on sale.
That is 1,200 to 1,600 points of LIMITED costume bundles in a single month. -
That is right! A Rikti Mothership Raid Feb 9, 2012!

See you there! -

Ok, I have to apologize to Dr. Aeon about one request on today's UStream, I found the redcap map from the KHTF in the AE (Unique maps->Caves->Witch's Lair, not exactly easy to find).
Onto my requests:
maps/Missions/P_Endgame/TPNCampus/P_TPN_Campus.txt
maps/Missions/Unique/Ongoing_Training/Manticore_Mansion/Manticore_Mansion.txt
More soon as I get map names. -
Quote:Well, it is available until the end of THIS month. I meant that it should be a permanent item after the 29th.Well thats just flippin great...
I completely missed the fact that the Roman pack was another silly limited time deal due to the hysteria over the absent weapons.
I'd planned on purchasing it this evening when I signed on, to update a few characters...
Great.
So you can still purchase it tonight. -
I've already done a few trials on Virtue, and plan to move some of my incarnate characters off of Triumph (to make room for new characters) to do so.
However my experience with Virtue showed me that MoM isn't being run a lot even THERE, when compared with other trials. -
Quote:Ghost Falcon is a business manager.So... Ghost Falcon is Marketing now? Because last time he was the one taking point for deciding how things were bundled and marketed and their timing.
In other words, we do actually know who is to blame as far as store sales (and the length of said "promotions") and pricing are concerned.Quote:Black Pebble / Marketing gets blamed for everything.
In Black Pebble's defense....:
I (Ghost Falcon), as the Business Manager:
1) proposed and got buy off on all prices in the market prior to Freedom's launch
2) schedule all new items to be released in the Paragon Market.
3) write up 90% of all Paragon Market in-game text,
4) propose and schedule all in-game and in-store weekly sales promotions (even Black Friday),
5) examine all in-game store sales metrics and adjust prices / remove item(s) accordingly.
As for this pack, and the Roman pack, I have to agree that there is no outward reason to limit the time these two packs are available as they are NOT tied in any shape or form to a specific event.
The Roman pack should return soon (edit: after it "expires" on Feb 29, 2012), and should include the Roman weapons. Better yet, a cheap "Roman Weapons" pack should be set up and both it and the Roman Armor/Shields should be made available year-round.
As to the "club" outfits (and it doesn't have anything to do with Valentines), they should also be available year-round.
Edit:
I do, however, appreciate that the bundle items are listed out. -
Quote:And as I've told you before... The only group that HAS that data aren't willing to share it. You want a large sample, get the red names to cough it up. Until such a time as they are willing to share that data, all any player has to go by is keeping an accurate tally of their trials. It is too small to be weighted with any significance. I've said this before to you, to make your findings have any weight you need to get those results from all servers from multiple people and compile them.
I've done so, have you? -

Reposting this here because not everyone is a VIP in this thread:
Up to this post, on the live servers only, these are my trial run/fail statistics:
BAF:
Total runs: 225
Failures: 15
Lambda:
Total runs: 213
Failures: 18
Keyes:
Total runs: 91
Failures: 5
UGT:
Total runs: 20
Failures: 11
TPN:
Total runs: 4
Failures: 0
MoM:
Total runs: 6
Failures: 6
As you can see, Keyes isn't a problem. Even the original Keyes with the horrendously annoying pulse damage and highly repetitive objectives isn't prone to failure. TPN is down-right repetitive and dull, but the AV damage is stupid. UGT and MoM though have an outright unacceptable failure rate. I've failed Keyes less than half as much as UGT, despite having run it almost 5x as much. I almost have matched the failure rate of MoM with Keyes, despite the fact that I've run Keyes 85 more times than MoM.
I can lead most PUGs to victory on a Keyes. I can't take a picked league to victory on a MoM trial. I have a coin flip chance of success or victory with a PUG for UGT.
As for the Dilemma Diabolique trial, after the first week I doubt I'll be able to find enough players interested in bringing their 50+3 characters to it to keep it being successful much less actually run. -

Suppresses travel speed when you attack:
- Ninja Run
- Beast Run
- Super Speed of any kind (temp power or power pool)
- Super Leap of any kind (temp power or power pool)
- Flight of any kind (temp power or power pool)
If you are outside in the last fight and I see you with a travel power on, I -will- remove you from the league and you will not be invited back to another badge attempt.
Is that clear enough?
http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Travel_Powers
Quote:Suppression
Travel Power Suppression was implemented by the Developers to combat a tactic known as jousting, which involves queuing an attack against a distant enemy and then traveling quickly past it. Due to various delays, the attack will not begin until the attacker is well past the target, potentially leaving him out of range of counterattacks.
To reduce jousting, activating most powers (particularly, those that affect hostile targets) triggers Suppression for 4 seconds. While Suppression is in effect, all speed bonuses from Super Speed disappear, as do all jumping speed and height bonuses from Super Jump. A Flying character remains flying, but his flight speed is reduced to approximately the same as Hover's base speed. Enhancements in the suppressed powers do not reduce Suppression's penalties. Movement speed buffs from other powers remain in effect. -
Quote:You realize that every comment you made can equally be applied to the Incarnate Trials, right?Upping the challenge is fine....so long as it's via difficulty controls.
Having way harder than basic as a Praetorian standard? That's not cool. Saying 'I find it easy' a la Leo doesn't cut it when other people find it much harder.
If you find things too easy, you can always up the difficulty. If things are too hard? Well, then you are stuffed.
Besides, even from a purely mechanical PoV rather than opinion, Praetorian mobs are provably nastier than Primal mobs at that level. They have more attacks, more debuffs and more exotic damage types. Not to mention occasional total immunity to Mez that can render Domintors and Controllers totally impotent.
Some ATs and Players find it easy.
Others do not. That is part of the problem. -
