True, I happily do this in one mission and it probably works better than ambushes in some cases since the ability to set ambush spawn locations was removed and some teams can kill the big bad before the ambush arrives if it doesn't spawn on top of you.

Heh. While this thread is probably the wrong place for it, it could be argued that it's part of society and that people are simply reflecting that. They mean no harm and are simply going by the general world view of what is "the norm".

Is it just a generic military guy or is it someone like Bandit Keith who has a flag bandanna and wears shades indoors because he's an American?
-
The problem is the AT specific nature. Keeping an ally alive would make for an interesting mission in its own right. However, the beginning arcs could stand a revamp, even if it's just small tweaks.

Started experimenting with the new Lead to Object technology in MA. Discovered that escorts using this actually count as being an ambush for chaining rules. Thus, if you want to lead an NPC to a wall safe clickie to unlock it and then summon an ambush after you open the safe, the arc will give you an error since it will count the escort as an ambush even if the escort was non-hostile.

Katili and Majasusi are both sort of cool looking just by looking at the letters. Shame I never wound up with those two despite characters who the translations might work for. What's your home server? I play on Victory and I have several on Triumph for the MA SG.

Positron Strike Force - A while back there was a push to redo lowbie TFs in AE. In the back of my mind, I had the concept of having a tweaked and shortened Posi but instead of running it as the heroes, you'd be running it as some lowbie villains who caught wind of what was going on and took the initiative to sabotage their efforts at major points. Never left brainstorm stage since it lacked solid development and I had other plans I liked more.

Setting them to not run away simply means they won't run for the exit and then force the arc to end if they get out. I have two questions. First, what powersets does it have? Second, do you have it set to Melee or Ranged? While wonky, Ranged will try to keep its distance. With certain powers, it may be trying to get to a specific range and having issues with AI since it can't figure out how to maintain that optimal range while you're trying to kill it. Doubly so if you have heavy debuffs.

-shrug- All of my characters one character and one alt costume default to being black. While their stories and such vary greatly, my main on blueside, Chocolate Rage, is your typical Luke Cage-esque Bigangryblackman Man type character, though he's generally a nice guy. Yes, he started in Galaxy City.
One way I get around even the most remote possibility of someone else having a name I want is using an online guide to translate generic words into Swahili. I'm predicting this has a solid chance of backfiring one day. Other times I'll try to sneak in an "ebony" or "chocolate" in some of the character names. Since spelling things backwards is really clever (no, it's not...) one character is named Naibun Rirrom.
At least one of my arcs has gotten me the wondrously internet aware question of "Are you black in real life?" (I am, BTW) The first being Rider's Ribs Restaurant Rescue which had an interesting development. I was using MA Edition for my class final and I was pumped up trying to think of a good story. Originally, I was going to do something where your mentor got framed so you had to save him and it would be all sorts of "Fight the power!" in feel but while I had the broad strokes in my head, I couldn't make out the details. Plus, there was one thing I wanted to do but I wasn't sure if it would be allowed. On a break during class I walked to the local Bojangles for a quick bite and it suddenly hit me to do a comedy where you had an evil chicken & waffles place trying to take over a friend's local eatery. From there I devised the villainous King Colonel's Chicken and Cake establishment and just ran with the idea.
Another arc, Dhahabu Kingdom and the Indelible Curse of Hate was born out of the desire to have a fantasy story that took place in an African setting instead of a European setting. I had to cheat a bit since I couldn't truly say it was in the past due to the large Paragon Transit Authority station. Portal Corp is a nice way to to get around that by claiming it's an alternate dimension. So I started experimenting with costumes to see what I could do. I can really sympathize with Jophiel on getting something more ethnically accurate that's not a knight or a ninja. Part of me said "screw it" as far as any form of actual accuracy to specific cultures and just went wild with it. While parts of me were paranoid about screwing it up, I think I wound up with a very atmospheric arc whose visual design sensibilities could probably only be fully nitpicked by someone from a specific part of Africa or perhaps a professor. -
Two things really stand out to me. The first is Kheldians since they literally have various forms to change into. The second is taking something with a lot of attacks and making a point of customising the powers so that a few powers match and a few others match so it is as if you are using different powers even if you don't make a costume change. This would be even better complimented by our access to dual builds.

I think I know of a way this can be accomplished or at least faked. You know how the instanced maps have loading screen previews before you zone in? Use a rescaled version of those to give people an idea of what the concept is. Thus, you know it's a blue cave instead of a brown one with the same layout or you know the visual difference between a CoV and CoH office since they have different office wallpaper.

Quote:However, Illusion gets a really good ST confuse and two different forms of stealth to set it up. I doubt the powers in Gravity Control will get rearranged for the obvious breaking of the cottage rule but a lot of small tweaks may have a sizable effect in the end. I have to wonder if the powers will get a outright shortening or if they'll get the Jump Kick effect where the full animation is about as long but it can be interrupted halfway through.Yeah, this. The other problem with Gravity besides the animations is that it has to wait so long for the "soft" control that every other set relies on so heavily. Illusion waits until level 18 to get Phantom Army, but everyone else has Ice Slick, or Stalagmites, or Seeds of Confusion. Gravity doesn't even get an AoE sleep.

I dunno. I sort of liked the other better...
While I've gotten different colors, it may be using the sprite editing concept of making the transparent background an (ugly) unused color. That way it's easier to tell the difference. -
It's a pretty fun combo and I'm satisfied with the overall damage output. Mine is used in a semi static team so I've got breathing room to mess around with some things like Dimension Shift.

Quote:This is awesome. Both of my Gravity Dominators are looking forward to a possible reduction in the cast times.Colin is an animator who is looking into possibly reducing the cast times of a few of the powers to help off set the "I clicked a button and died before the power went off" problem Gravity has. He's done a few preliminary tests, but so far, nothing is certain. All I can say for certain is, "We're experimenting, and we hope it works as much as you do!"

There are some individual maps that have matching destroyed and regular forms but you'll have to go through them by hand to make sure. I think a while back someone managed to find some specific ones but I don't know if they posted a comprehensive list.
-
The problem with that is that while the doubled space allows us to use more text and customs, the hard cap on the number of ambushes has not changed. Furthermore, we can't trigger two ambushes off of the same event or even two differing objectives if one is an ambush. Combine this with the removal of Ambush placement a while back and our hands are tied (though it is still possible to get the type of arc you want).

Big thanks on the review and sorry for the delay in replying. Tweaking things for I17. Switched out the Storm Shaman for the Avalanche Shaman due to multiple requests. Removed Life Drain on Chikuzi and removed Blinding Feint from King Aurus. Made a lot of small tweaks here and there but a lot could not be done due to the way xp scales with the new custom options.
Some things were done rather deliberately within the story but I will be reviewing some of it due to your comments. Mainly tweaking the wording on the prophecy. Also, thanks for catching the typo on "essence". Don't think anyone else commented on that. -
About an hour or so ago in Pocket D Testserver...
Quote:So I'm happy even if it's not a full guarantee. Once again, thanks for those who asked for me.Castle: Force-Fire: As a matter of fact....if things go as planned, there might be a few updates for Gravity in GR. Still waiting to see what Colin comes up with... -

Sorry Grey. Even without Washing Machine Aura, demons are obnoxiously loud. I'll most likely be avoiding redside for a while.

Heaven forbid any new players actually decide to explore the game...

I think this may be the main issue. I think it can be mainly highlighted by the "Fight Your Doppelganger" section. It showed what it was supposed to with two characters fighting but standing there with PSW lacks any form of energy and life. Some form of strafing and jumping would have added a lot to that segment, even if it wasn't much.

Quote:Even better than that, the female 7th Generation Paragon Protectors actually have noticeable muscle tone. Just double checked in AE that it's just them and not all PP females. But still, it works well in that it has the muscle tone but isn't jarring.See, the reason I ask is that I've actually seen this in various ways in-game. Currently, the female Icon mannequins use the Male upper body texture (Tights Muscular, to be precise), and while opinions on how appropriate this is vary, I don't believe many have said that it looks BAD so much as that it looks odd. And mind you, this is a texture that I don't think was ever designed for the female torso. If that works well enough to pass...
