This is an idea I had a while ago. Basically, have you ever had an idea that you think would make a good arc, but you can't really think of how to turn it into an arc/don't particularly want to put in the effort? This thread is the place to offer that idea up to the public.

Some notes:

-If you want to turn an idea into an arc, post here so that people will know it's been taken and multiple people don't end up writing the same story. Likewise, post when the arc is finished so people can see what you did with it.

-Please don't claim an idea if you don't intend to do anything with it. The whole point of this thread is that people GIVE UP the ideas they don't want to use for anything.

-By posting an idea in this arc you are forfeiting that idea to someone else. If someone has already claimed your idea and you want to turn it into a story, well, too late. Don't post an idea here if you have any interest in turning it into a story.

Here are a few old ideas of mine that will never become one of my arcs, but I think there's potential if someone wanted to work with them:

***IDEAS***

*A heroic arc with the contact as Indigo and the main villain as Nemesis, representing both of them at the top of their game. A real "Spymaster vs. Mastermind" type of story with both sides having detailed and intricate plans while trying to foil the other. Idea based entirely on the notion of giving Nemesis a line at some point: "The trouble, $name, is that you're playing checkers, while I'm playing chess".

*A time travel arc where every mission chronologically comes before the one you just did. The gag of the arc would essentially be that all the things you keep going back to "Fix" are being caused by the NEXT thing you go and "Fix". The intention was that the player would figure this out long before the contact did.

*More recently, here's an idea for the latest Dr. Aeon arc contest: A villainous arc where EVERY super-powered character loses their powers... except for the player's character. They then proceed to take over the world at level 5 simply by being the only person on earth with superpowers. The title would be "The Mouse that Roared" in reference to the book/movie of the same name.

Astoria in D Minor, a horror arc. Arc ID: 41565 - The Beating Heart of Astoria: A Play in Five Acts. Arc ID: 170547 - Ignition of the Machine, a story with robots. Arc ID: 318983
Captain Skylark Shadowfancy and the Tomorrownauts of Today. Arc ID: 337333 - Signal:Noise, where is everybody? Arc ID: 341194
@The Cheshire Cat - Isn't it enough to know I ruined a pony making a gift for you?

12 second horror stories - a writing experiment.

One of my ideas was similar to this, though I wasn't sure due to the competition semantics saying "a hero or villain" and not "hero(es) or villain(s)".

That is a frankly epic idea though XD But the one obvious flaw is that you can't really specify what a superpower is, so this could potentially only effect 1 origin. But about the semantics, I really think that Aeon or a lackey should answer people's questions in the thread about what exactly that means, because otherwise it's just plain unfair.

Bad Voodoo by @Beyond Reach. Arc ID #373659. Level 20-24. Mr. Bocor has fallen victim to a group of hooded vigilantes who have been plaguing Port Oakes, interfering with illegal operations and pacifying villain's powers. He demands that revenge is taken on these miscreants and his powers are returned! You look like just the villain for the job. Challenging.

Glazius did something fairly close to this with his arc "Backwards Day" #don't remember.

A couple ideas I had rattling around in my head that I don't think I'll ever make into arcs:

Inspired by Aeon's Second Challenge - An elderly hero has lost his powers, not through some devious mechanations, but merely through old age. He's looking for someone to pass the torch to as well as finally defeating his old nemesis who seems to be hatching a quite new plot. The torch could be passed to the player or to an ally that you happen upon during the arc.

Shades of Grey - This is a story told many times in modern fantasy shows, most often in vampire/demon hunter tales. When the vampire/demon hunter finds the vamp that doesn't feed on humans and is just trying to eke out a relatively normal life. In CoX, this would be a contact that sends you on missions going after a suspected supervillain, but through the course of the arc, you realize that the supervillain is not actually a supervillain at all and you end up defying your contacts wishes. Not sure what a good climax would be though - joining together to fight a common foe? Or just have a quiet anti-climactic ending?

Positron Strike Force - A while back there was a push to redo lowbie TFs in AE. In the back of my mind, I had the concept of having a tweaked and shortened Posi but instead of running it as the heroes, you'd be running it as some lowbie villains who caught wind of what was going on and took the initiative to sabotage their efforts at major points. Never left brainstorm stage since it lacked solid development and I had other plans I liked more.
