Turned it off when they blamed 911 on Flight Simulators so I didn't even see Statesman.

Society already played this game when movies first came out. After much stupidity, we finally hit upon the ratings system and now all seems to be more-or-less well. Video games skipped right to the end and started with a ratings system, hoping to avoid this. No such luck.

Windy is from the secretive race of the Stormkind. She got tired of her own race hiding their power and, more to the point, her own race was getting really tired of trying to cover for her when she would divert a big storm so she could have a picnic. Natural Grav/Storm/Ice controller. (Actually, I was just trying to see how attractive I could make a female character in beta. Then I fell in love with the powerset!)

Zloth was a mighty warrior back in legendary times, weilding his mace and using some incredible jet-black magic armor. He ran afoul of a mage and, while Zloth outsmarted him, the mage put a nasty curse on him, putting his true name out where any two-bit mage could see it and summon him. A two-bit mage from the Circle of Thorns pounced on it instantly. Unfortunately, the idiot didn't know about protection spells for the summoned being when yanking them through time. Zloth's armor managed to keep him alive but just barely. The armor itself changed from a black so dark it drank every flicker of light around it to this! Even working with Icon for over a year, he's only managed to get some black back in. He really doesn't like the new rainbow much and it hurts when the girls rag on him for it. (Magic Stone/Mace tank - I've only got my namesake up to 22nd level so far)

Tesslah is a scientist from a team originally started by Nikola Tesla to research a death beam that could be hidden inside a human. The process they developed worked but only just barely - it ended up resulting in a lot of internal heat. (The first person to undergo the process actually poached like an egg when he fell asleep!) Soon after Tesslah completed the process, the Freakshow came through and destroyed the lab. Science Elec/Elec/Elec blaster.

Second outfit - actually it's supposed to have an open side but I can only do that with demo edits
Flying outfit - the wind lets her keep cool enough to be at least a little modest

Hmmm, not many pics of my Warshade's outfit. He spends practically all his time in one of the shapechange forms.

Leftover (tech Claw/super-reflex scrapper) started her career late in high school when she found a big barrel bomb. She tried to disable it but it exploded. The explosion destroyed her house, her family, and almost killed her. She lost both arms, her right eye, and suffered massive burns, particularly to her face. The cops never figured out who bombed the house but the leading theory is that some villain group bombed the wrong house. At any rate, the authories decided to use some Paragon High Tech to give her some robotic arms with claws and nerve enhancers to give her incredible reflexes, just in case it wasn't a stupid accident and somebody comes looking to kill her. She's still afraid of bombs.

She got a fun Halloween outfit, too - which these "ladies" tried to copy recently. (I made the outfit last year, never dreaming that the witches would return!)

Oh wow, Storm Angel reminds me a lot of somebody from back in beta by the name of TechKnow (seen here on the right). (And Inferna looks great on the left, too - except the boots. I don't think it's possible to get any shoes/boots to work well with metal bottoms.)

The lower left of the web page has the choices between Full res, 1600x1200, and so on. The links are blue text, the file sizes are in white. For whatever reason, to my eyes the white text seems closer to me than the blue text - so the white text literally stands out. It's really a pretty cool 3D effect.

It's some sort of optical illusion but I can't figure out why it would happen. Is there an optomitrist in the house? A bio-physicist perhaps?

Heh, my first main was my Grav/Storm and, particularly in her early levels, she did a ton of healing while waiting for the controller powers to recharge. I hated it when I would look at the team window, click the person with the worst health for healing, then discover it was me.

All right, what the heck is the deal with the text on Rowrs' web page in the lower left? Maybe I'm completely nuts but it looks to me like the blue text is further away than the white text, especially if I'm not looking directly at it. What kind of freaky optical illusion is that??

Slacker! I mean, you don't have to use the slash command to scale up/down individual windows but come on, you have to at least create a little tab for NPC chat!

(An NPC chat window really is handy, btw. Set it so you can show/hide it at will, then read it when the battle is over.)

I like the costume except for the bandana. But then, I always hate those - I guess one bit me when I was young or something.

Might be able to use demos for that, actually. Tell it to playback in Windowed mode at whatever rez you want and do a demodump. As long as your card has the memory to display it, it should work.

Well, my demos all have the action going right in the center which ain't what you want in a dual-screen wallpaper, but it proves the concept. You would likely want to brush up the raw results but you'll save a ton of time trying to fit screenshots together.

Well, you see, that's just the thing. Once we write a guide we have about a day to spiff it up at most, then it's written in stone forever. As the game changes, you have to keep re-posting your guide with updates. Honestly, I find it's a lot easier to just put my guide on the web (where I have a lot more formatting options anyway).

How's about if I put my guide on the web, make a topic to discuss that guide in the Guides forum, then get that link listed? Would that work out?

If Father Time puts it in a time loop then I'm going to solve the Storm Palace TF by reversing the polarity of the neutron flow in the palace.

Of course, you do know that any base with the power shut off can be bought by another supergroup willing to pay the back rent, right? No? Well, I guess that might be because it isn't true. But it could be one day!

Really though, how bad is base rent? Maybe it's harsh on the expensive bases but our modest little SG base with a bunch of teleporters and a little med bay sure doesn't cost much. I think we could stop playing in SG mode for six months and, even paying rent right on time, we would never have to sell anything.

I don't think it's the demo launcher, I think it's the demo itself. But it works on Live? Is this an old demo or one you just made? Can you open it up in Notepad and tell me what map it uses?

I got the update, too, but I can't repeat this. What's the error? Did you select the "Testing COH" option? If you do select that option and click the "..." button, do you go to your CoH testing directory?
