  1. The day that the suggestions forum is stumped for ideas is the day that City of Heroes has nowhere else to go.

.....Which means it will never have nowhere else to go.
  2. I agree to the idea of making a 35-45 normal city zone. I'm personally getting a little sick of Founders' Falls and Brickstown. As long as I can get to it with the green line tram.

I agress as well that the boss difficulty is not fair. I am a lvl 35 energy/energy blaster who...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wow. That sounds just like my past experiences. Before Issue 3 I was soloing 30-34 DE missions all the time with my e/e blaster. Not because I wanted to fight DE, but because my contacts would do nothing but put me up against them all the time. When Issue 3 went on test, I took my toon on there to check things out and got totally.....er.....eaten by an orange devoured boss. I had to come back with a full tray, to just barely kill it in time before the inspirations dropped. I went on to try another mission, this time the boss being red, used up all of my inspirations again...and they all dropped before I could get the boss below 50%. I had no chance at getting away.

Now I've managed to off a few bosses since this patch went live, but I know that I'm very, very glad I managed to pull into 35 and get a new set of contacts. The new DE contact I got is going to be very, very lonely.

Wow. I guess there won't be any guessing games this time around.

Nahh, Pilcrow isn't. There was a fellow who, at 5 pages, was satisfied to pop it along to Warcry.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well if he didn't mean Pilcrow, then shame on me.

For me, this thread just topped 5 pages. I guess I keep forgetting about my settings.

    The Kudos Thread

So Pilcrow is a sack of crap because he wanted to prove that a Thank You thread can go longer than five pages.

    Yeah, okay.
  7. Well it seems that this thread has turned into a big wish list of miscellaneous stuff, so I guess I'll throw something in.

I wish that the Rikti would come back and blow half of all the city zones up, so the zones could be rebuilt with brand new architecture, instead of the same darned skyscrapers. Yeah that's my pet peeve, I'm a flier so I have all the time in the world to stare at the sky.

Yeah, and I hope that the developers use the construction site thing they're doing with the Arena for future places. It's a great teaser.

I'm already facing more missions than I'm comfortable with that I can't solo(two Archvillans in my held missions now, with the option to pick up a third if I want). For now, they have to sit unattended, as for the next three weeks I don't have the time to put together a pick up group and still run the mission...and just for the record, I've tried about once a day to send out broadcasts in Peregrine Isle, and usually after about an hour I get a team that's willing to go help me fight one of my Archvillans, but then we spend another 30 minutes of,"I need to sell first", "I've got to get the door, AFK"(to watch him autolog and then never come back), "Wait, THAT AV? Not a chance man, I'm out"(when the AV's name had been clearly stated in my broadcast), or the one that really gets to me,"Let's run one of the other missions first, to get a feel for each other so we don't have a wipe against the AV."(to which they would proceed to all vote to take on someone else's AV, and if I conceded, the team would finish mission one, actually be working together, then just as I select my mission, the person that held the mission said thanks and logged out, followed by half of the team following suit, and I end up feeling used like a two dollar prostitute. If I did not concede, saying that the mobs leading up to the AV in my mission would give us enough time to learn to work together, half the team would call me a few choice names and bail on me.)

The story of pick up groups.

It probably doesn't help that almost everybody has a bad first experiance with Faultline. The first time most of us went in there was most likely the talk to Security Chief->Hunt 20 Vahz in Faultline that you got as soon as your level was high enough to actually enter the zone.

Great, now I have to hunt Vahz who spawn in large groups at +1 to +6 my level solo because there's nobody else who wants to hunt in here. Oh boy, I can't wait to try attacking a group with 3 +1 Eids, 5 +1 Morts, and a bunch of +1 Abominations alone. I think I did what most people do for that mission, draw the aggro of a nearby mob and run like crazy for the police drones. Once the drones take out the eids and a few morts you can sort of muddle through the rest. It's still no picnic and certainly not a place I wanted to return to.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bingo. Hazard Zones are more trouble than they're worth. Who in their right mind would choose sitting around lft or trying to form a team that doesn't fall apart once they hear you're going to a hazard zone, over just soloing a door mission?
  12. [ QUOTE ]

I suspect it'll probably be to the same range as Impale or Focus; long enough to not be melee, but nowhere near the range of blasting.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Well I hope so.

Pistols are going to be "probably scrapper."

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Lame.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Does it really ruffle your feathers it's not labelled under another AT?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes. Because now I'm most likely going to have to stand within punching distance of somebody to shoot at them with a gun....and still risk missing.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
Pistols are going to be "probably scrapper."

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Lame.

I can only assume that we have no players under the age of 10...so stop being kiddies.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Irony.
  16. [ QUOTE ]

I did this, got all 6 badges. I was not once bored, and didn't find it at all repetitive. I had a lot of fun with the team I was on.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well good for you. Apparently you're more easily amused by camping the same door for an hour than I am. Doesn't mean that it isn't staying in the exact same spot grinding out badges, regardless of if your team talked enough to make you not think about it.

    [ QUOTE ]
In closing, you sir are a troll.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe, but at least I'm not the one throwing out insults just to reassure myself over what I've done, hmm?

    Have a nice day.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Well tell you what, go around and report everyone you see doing this and say they are exploiting.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why? What good would it do? Why would I report everybody over something I took part in?

You seem to think I have some sort of problem with the people doing this. Nope. I have a problem with the devs for not thinking ahead. I don't care that you did it. I care that the devs left the opening for it.

Or are you just trying to say that because you aren't alone, you're right and justified?

Aren't we defensive? Go on! Wear your badges that everybody else will have with pride! Little old me can't stop you! Cause you sure aren't going to prove me wrong. You aren't going to convince me that the devs sat down and decided to set up an event where people stare at a single door for hours trying to get a badge.

Well no, I take that back. I'm sure people didn't get the badges because they just got bored.

    [ QUOTE ]
I mean we cant have people going around and collecting badges in an even that will probably last the weekend.

    [/ QUOTE ]

A screw up is a screw up, no matter how long it lasts. Sorry.

    [ QUOTE ]
the only people that can truly define this as an exploit are the devs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which they will. Oh, they may not flat out call it an exploit, but it will be changed by next year.

    [ QUOTE ]
And i am pretty sure Statesman wouldn't consider this an exploit since he considers exploiting when people use to fall through the stage and attack enemies from below then have GM's get them unstuck.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry, I pretty much quoted him word for word. Please refer to the Radio ITG interview.

    [ QUOTE ]
Yet he didnt think people camping portals wasnt a exploit.

    [/ QUOTE ]

He said he doesn't care about exploits. He said he cares about people having fun and not doing repetitive things just for XP. Tomato, Tomahtoe IMO. A nicer means to the same end. By the way, I wouldn't use the portals as an example if I were you, being those mighty fire demons now give the XP of mere pets.

I'm still wondering why you're taking this so personally. Like I insulted your mother or something.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Time for a fun little game of "What Would It Be Like Without Exploiting!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

So you're admitting it's an exploit? Good.

    [ QUOTE ]
What would it be like without exploiting? Well, single heroes would be running around from door to door,

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because nobody would ever think that grouping would still get them their badges faster...

    [ QUOTE ]
killstealing and leaving mobs behind after they get those badges,

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because killstealing and mob leaving didn't always happen in the game since launch.

    [ QUOTE ]
possibly putting heroes in the low level zones at risk when the tricks catch up to them en mass.

    [/ QUOTE ]

High level heroes can't trick or treat doors in low level zones. So um, no.

    [ QUOTE ]
What is it like now? Everyone is organized in groups of 8, taking turns clicking in the same door.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Doing something boring and repetitive just to get ahead. Exactly the sort of thing Statesman said he disliked. I'll be happy to go snatch the radio interview if you want me to.

    [ QUOTE ]
I don't see where the problem is. It's certainly not as intended, but it's safer for everyone else.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Debunked for things already said.

Really people, don't try to defend your guilty consciences. The devs didn't think ahead, everybody exploited and it will probably be fixed next year. Deal. I know I am.
  19. Hey, you said it, not me.

You're welcome to ban yourself if you want, I just want to rub this in so next year things don't turn out this way.
  20. .......I would send out monsters too if the same eight heroes kept knocking at my door all night.

An A for effort, but exploiters will be exploiters.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
    The rumor

    [/ QUOTE ]

Key word there; rumor. All I have to say is that I'd be pretty pissed if I'm having costume options denied over a few sexual deviants.
But somehow.......I doubt that the devs are that petty.
  22. Within 15 days there'll probably be a big interview dropping more details on Update 3.

Then at the end of October, before Halloween, we'll get a full feature list of update 3.

Then around the end of November we'll get the testing going.

Finally, on the week of December 17, Update 3 will go live.
  23. I'm sure we'll get first details in a week or two.......besides the already coming Epic ATs and SSOCS
