AoE is KING when it comes to Tanking.I dont care what anyone says to the contrary to it.Its a fact.

Footstomp.....KO Blow.....*Twirls finger in the air*

Footstomp doesnt compair with Lightning Rod, Thunder Strike, Chain Induction, Jaccob's Ladder, and even Thunder Clap will add far more midigation and survivability to your Armor set without having to worry about buying even Tough from your fighting Pool.

If people belive Single Target Oriented sets are the answer for Elec/ then they have to acctually seriously ask why thats belived.

Iv heard the arguments about how the Epic Pool will give thme more AoE potential, and how glorious Perma-Rage is.I call Shinanigans on these statements.

I wouldnt bother going with Stone Melee either. Its got 1 damage Aoe, and 1 short Stun AoE....So not going to effect your survivability enough, and certainly doesnt add to the damage output a Tanker can do on a team.Reality check...It Sucks.

Im surprised people suggjest Scranker Melee sets for Tankers. Then call the Tankers that do ALOT more damage, as well as AoE Damage the Scrankers.

If you want Electrical Armor to be powerful enough for you to play, get a set that doesnt suck.Heck, even Mace or Axe would be far better choices due to the massive midigation and better AoE.
    Really? Really now?

I find Rad/ and Kin/ to be lack luster sets for any AT other then the possibilities of a capable Controller. This also is just my opinion.

However appauling I find the use of these sets, theres plenty of ways to fix the NO ROOM issue.

First one is my personal favorite.Use Ninja Run instead of taking a Travel pool.

By level 40 you can easly have Swift, Health, and Stamina on any character build, and be shy only 1 single power between both of your chosen sets for your build.

Iv been curious as to why people have such a issue with lacking powers and having to choose carefully from a staggering amount of power choices due to bad build designs.

The easiest example would be to use the example of 1 of my characters. My SD/Axe Tanker.

It has every single power from top to bottom for its Axe Secondary, and is only missing Grant Cover from his Shield set at level 40.Yes, he has Swift, Health, and Stamina from the Fittness Pool as well.Currently using SOs, he has no Endurance Issues, nore does he have any issues in the Damage/Defense Departments either.

I still have starting at level 41 a Epic Pool choice. This is how I build every character iv got.I litterally dont short change my builds like many people do by taking the Fighting Pool, as well as the Stealth Pool, or even any of the Travel Pools.

Too many people build for Defense, or whatever they feel the character needs, and the majority of the time it gimps it completly.

Iv been capable of taking builds like a Traps/Rad and Tanking for a team when a Tanker couldnt be found or we had a horrible Tanker on the team.I held the Agro and dished good damage because I didnt have to skip anything, but I did skip Web Grenade, because Honsetly...really?Same thing with my Dark/Dark Defender. It could grab the Agro, and hold it like a Tanker.

None of my builds need to take the Fighting Pool, or a Travel or Stealth Pool.

As for DP/Kin being the new Hotness?I havent seen one on Freedom yet.Iv seen alot of DP/EM Blasters, and like 1 DP/Dev, and I dont even recall seeing any Defenders using DP.I rarely play Villians Side, so I cant make a statement for sure on Corruptors.

Long Story short, if you say youv got no room on your build to take a power, then you may be doing something wrong and short changing the ability of your character for a lesser helpful power from the pools.
You do realize that the way you consider the best way to build a toon aka "take all the primary and secondary powers and screw the pool powers", is found to be gimp by many of those who frequent the boards here?

Seriously, get over yourself. You have your way of building things, and others here have theirs. Funny part is, Id rather have theirs than yours.

    Thanky.
They are effective to some extent now. GR brings them to blue side, as a counter to stalkers in zone PvP. Their higher perception cap lets them see stalkers from 100 feet away versus the 10 for everyone else.

  6. The reason you can't fit in the patron pool is because of the differences in the build types between pvp and pve.

In PvP, you aren't going to take boxing, tough, weave. Those powers aren't going to give you nearly what you want them to and even slotted amount to little. That opens up Leaping for combat jumping and super leap.

Then you have SoW which is also usually not taken. If you don't take that you have two free power choices. That opens up your patron and you can go shadowmeld/darkblast or hib/shraks.*

    *Most popular and useful choices.

In all likely hood I would model my pve build after a pvp build and forgo the fighting pool and pick up the other powers I mentioned. SoW is debatable for PvE, but its a nice boost when you need it. Tough really has low benefit on a stalker in my opinion though.

You also want to move up placate in the build, it makes a large difference in PvE play and should warrant an earlier spot.

Edit: I also noted you allocated some slots really weird. You also don't have an escape power for yourself. You will want either phase or hib. I would go phase and pick up shadowmeld. Also Invis is extremely useful.

I know they are decent players with expensive builds and they really hit hard. I went in the other day just stood next to the base and two of them opened up with sharks and even pumping my heal and hitting hiber didnt make any difference. All those procs and ticks was just crazy. Dead in about 2-3 seconds- heal didnt do anything and hiber didnt kick in anywhere near in time.

Gotta love looking at yourself in an ice cube then dieing like 8 seconds later.

But yeh I must just suck compared to you uber guys. I mean to attain the level of skill where i can actually leave the room and let a stalker hammer on my blaster and not die. Sheesh if only I had skills such as those.

I didnt really mind stalkers pre abomination pvp. At least they didnt have sharks then and WASD actually worked as a counter to AS.

But it seems to me now after a 6 month break that the major factor in most builds is the sheer amount of cash spent on the builds.

I could hold my own on my cheaper builds in zonal, between 250m up to about 600m against more expensive builds pre abomination. But now I can really feel the difference in performance.

But yeh as Union has only a tiny pvp population now the majority of pvp'ers all seem to have very expensive builds. And while im not singling out stalkers as especially unbalanced I really cant see how ANY build could afk in front of most of the stalkers on Union. Maybe a scrap or tank for a few seconds.
    Are you done yet?

First off if you're dying from two shraks you're not at the hp cap. It takes a whole shrakzooka (three) to kill my hp capped blaster in one go. I know how annoying it is, but thats clearly an exaggeration on your part.

Secondly, I wasn't exactly out front of the vill base when I went afk. I was next to my base, and the thing about Freedom RV is that one side is constantly camping the other, there are no free roaming battles. It always ends up at one of the bases. Considering the situation, yeah I could afford to go afk, since as soon as I was hit he was held/hit whatever and no hitting me.

Third, being able to not die to shraks is not uber, its just you know, moving.

Last, my build is on the cheap end. Im no cyclol when it comes to cash and I dont play the market like barrier. Im poor, but unless theres a shrakzooka, shraks are the still low on the totem pole for me.

Thanks for the snark though, thats neat.

Not using Phantom Army is akin to not using KO Blow. Sure I could use footstomp the whole time, but that isnt nearly as effective.

Its prolly the same people that use Mids and forget that its a imperfect program that lies more then anything.

Because it does significantly less damage than some of the other primaries such as Ill/Mind/Fire.

Also. You're bad at this game.

I learned that toggling on invis reduces that time to about 4 seconds... I started dong the same kinda tests for over a year with other powers and their TS durations. What affected them and what powers didn't and for how long. Thanks though for explaining the way TS works. I'm sure it has been helpful to many.

Thanks for listening too. I'll come back to this when you all are ready. btw go verify some ****. Stop riding on old credentials.
I'm sorry but this is getting out of hand. You need to stop. Its not fair to all the players that don't know better. You can't be lying to them thinking that what you make up is fact.

This doesn't work. Stop saying it does.

Attack, invis, suppression over in less than a second.

TS does not stack like effects do. Getting hit with 3 powers in a row or DoT means that TS ends after the first application of TS, it doesn't continue until the 3rd power's TS duration ends or for the duration of a DoT... Another round of TS will be applied if this small window of no TS isn''t taken advantage of though, so it is often missed when using any other form of travel, and is often why I don't recommend TP to those brand new to PvP. It does take practice.

[EDIT:] To clarify. The hardest part of this appoach can be having the patience to NOT attack when attacked/webbed/outnumbered (and outnumbered) so that you don't create more TS. Waiting 2 secs for that window can be very difficult and/or fatal at times.
What? I think you're confused. That or the two months I haven't been able to play have changed the game significantly

To Clarify: I think what you are referring to is the phenomenon of people missing you.

How do you reduce travel suppression? Its a fixed number.
  16. Sorry I sleep when you guys are awake. Different Time zones.

    Anyhow, X,

On Glue I threw in a temp read set. Its alright and doesn't add too much, but I liked a couple of the set bonuses.

I didn't take disruption for an arena build, but I could definately see its uses in zone and against certain enemies. Having said that I went with loliceblast.

Dim shift slotting sounds spot on for me.

Hope you have fun, its a very interesting mix.

I must have missed something when looking at it with Mids then. My bad.
  22. The HP isn't bad but I'm torn over some power choices.

Terror pointed out a lack of Dim Shift. I like this power on mine, its fun to throw on people randomly, even in zones when it doesn't mean much. Its worthy enough to throw in your build I think, I would drop propel since thats a long animating power that just puts you at a bad place.

I would also try and get more Acc in Wormhole. I used a different set. But thats personal preference, I would just try for more Acc. I would go for more in Entangling as well.

I dont really get the point of EMP arrow in a PvP build, I went with Ice, I really use it more often than Grav Dis.

Again its all up to you in the end. Good luck.

For heroes no. Their stealth cap is too low. The benefit of the perc proc is for stalkers since veats have a much higher perception cap than any other AT.
