    Just for fun.

Any one else think "lolsmoke" ?
  2. what did they do, bid 2 bill instead of 200 mil?
  3. Dark/EM/Earth

Try it, you might be surprised =)
  4. Ok started up my PC today, was looking around on GPU-Z and made a second screen shot and compared the two. Only thing different was the old screen shot was saying the bus interface was PCI-E x16 @x4, newest screen shot showed PCI-E x16 @ x16.

I started up CoH and tested, it works fine now. >.>

Any one know how I can change it back to x16 if it switches to x4 again?
  5. Not in compatability mode, and tried with SLI off, still does it.
  6. Wired. I reinstalled my vid card drivers, and nothing improved :/

    Mids ??

Gime mah kin melee in mids! :O!
  8. Not sure how I can bump the fan speed up.

I used to use Vista 32 bit, but with 8 gigs of ram... I upgraded to 64 bit, and decided to just wipe and start over.

SLI has been on since the begining.

Had the same problems when I used 32 bit, and when I switched to 64 bit, everything was fine, so I was happy, then it started happening again.

PSU is a 730 watt PSU.

Here is the vid I made showcasing what happens.
    http://www.wegame.com/watch/lag-of-death/
And yes, this is what happens regularly now (which is why I solo a lot atm) Wegame recording didn't slow my PC at all.
Also, only half my computers rescources are getting used. info from cpu meter side bar thingie.
  9. I wiped my HDD and reinstalled Vista 64 bit about 2 months ago.

GPU-Z is showing temps of 60 C and 52 C, fan spinning at 75% and 75% (2 cards SLI linked)
  10. Used some canned air and blew any dust off the GFX card, then tried another mob, same problem. I am currently downloading the newest drivers (though they are only a month newer, I am also uploading a video I made showing off how fun the lag is).

I wouldn't know why a GFX card would have anything to do with this problem. I run the game perfectly fine on ultra mode. I can watch OTHER people fight, I can use Single Target attacks, but if I use an AoE of any kind, bam, I lag to death. >.>
  11. Been around 3 years since I have read the Tech forum >.>

Here is my CoH Helper stuff.

  12. :/ Last time I visited this forum, I remember every one with problems being told to post the DXdiag's or Hijackthis.... I will download those two applications saist and get back to yah.

I did however recently download my drivers from NVidia.... if you think it's a driver problem...
  13. This has been happening off and on for about two months now. I will be just fine and dandy until I actually attack with an AoE or walk into a mob (with a PBAoE like Cloak of Fear). Then I will completely lag out. /showfps 1 is showing .67 frames per sec in some cases. I have tried restarting my computer, and it does not fix the problem. I have lowered gfx to the lowest settings, still lags. /netgraph 1 is perfectly fine with very low green bars looking at a ping of 150. But if I walk into a mob, I get a solid green bar that is as big as it is allowed. /netgraph 2 shows the green off the screen. >.>

    Here is my dxdiag info.

  15. Had to choose some place to stop. However, if you have a full 20 character name, it gets squished pretty bad on team window. ESPECIALLY now that super side kicking moves all but one of the team members over a character or two worth of space on the team window.
  16. There have been cases where textures for some reason or another do not get rendered.

You see cool particle effects and stuff, but no textures. Sometimes it gets resolved just by /reloadgfx, sometimes you need to restart CoH.
  17. >.> I always had the impression that +acc is better than +to hit simply for that fact that to hit is additive while acc is multiplicative.

    Example:
The only time multiplication is worse than addition is when you multiply times 0 or 1.
    5 + 0 = 5 compared to 5 x 0 = 0
    5 + 1 = 6 compared to 5 x 1 = 5 :/
    5 + 2 = 7 compared to 5 x 2 = 10 !
  18. This is what I am running atm. Again I want to stress: this is not the best and only way to build a fire/kin, but it is how I do it, and I can farm pretty well, and do it at an enjoyably fast pace. Notice the absence of purples. Posi's and the Basilisk's are the most expensive things in the build.

  19. Pretty much all stealth gets suppressed IIRC. I KNOW [Stealth] does. I have not checked things like Steamy Mist, but I do know that Superior Invisibility does not suppress.

HOWEVER, stealth does not matter if you aggro something. Stealth only keeps you from getting added to the mobs aggro list. You can be 100% invisible (or capped stealth if you would rather) and still be attacked. Once you are added to their aggro list -> attack, debuff, anything that rolls a to hit check for them, stealth doesn't matter.

And as far as brutes with stealth go, even if they were capped to stealth, and stood in a mob, they would get attacked. This is due to the way Fury is built. I can't find the linkie atm but there are three ways fury is modified. You attack, You are attacked, and how many mobs are surrounding you. This last one checks every so often, which notifies the mobs, and adds you to their aggro list.

Now, on to my thoughts of EA. It is the crappiest set of all time, don't ever use it. >.> :P

In all reality, I just want it all to myself because I am planning on making a Kin Melee/EA brute and want it to remain something that is not a FotM >.>

I got a Stone/EA brute to about 45 before deleting and I sort of regret it now. I was disappointed in the Heal of [Energy Drain]. When I read the power details it said +HP, and I inferred it meant +HP... not a heal. It is a rather lack luster in my opinion. It's not horrible, but if I was planning too AV solo, which I usually like to try to make my toons do, I would prefer [Conserve Power] and [Aid Self] instead of [Energy Drain]. Three of the biggest things that made me dislike my Stone/EA were:

    1) Low Unenhanceable DDR
    2) Long animation on a heal, that often times left me dead by the time I healed (2.37 second animation!)
    3) Kinetic combats were too expensive to use (and still are) on a passive alt that I didn't play much.

Few temp powers that would help you as an EA brute are:
    [Elusive Mind]
[Vanguard Psionic Shield] (30 min toggle: costs 150 Vanguard Merits)
[Kinetic Dampener] (great if you get debuffed, or before you get S/L soft-capped)
    [Smoke Flash] (Just for giggles)

The Auto Resistance powers are nice, but could be better, and should be held off until you get more important powers.

    TL;DR version:
Not the best, not crappy, has weaknesses and strengths, like all sets.
    My Wish list:
A level 50 melee set like Kinetic Combat so that stupid squishies that are trying to soft-cap S/L can steal those IOs.
    Enhanceable DDR
I can live with the heal the way it is, if the DDR was enhanceable.

Edit: OK, somehow I thought I was reading the brute forums (people mentioning brutes and fury and such) Take what you want, disregard the stuff that doesn't apply to stalkers =)
  20. Bosses aren't worth the time. I have yet to see a reason where solo fighting bosses comes with a significant enough reward to justify they extra time.

As the OP stated "I wont have the cash to pimp him out". I was able to get my Fire/Kin up, running and farming with just SOs. I went with a purely resistance base, farming S/L mobs. I had around 60% resistance to S/L and used Psi Tornado with a FF proc in it to get me extra recharge. When I got extra monies, I bought a KB IO and dropped accro. Later on, when I had about 500 mil, I decided to IO him for +recharge. I now have him as a Fire/Kin/Psi. If you want a cheap build, go for +rech. Pop an FF proc in Psi tornado (it pretty much procs on ever mob). Going the way of /Psi instead of /Earth also give you Mez protection with Indomitable Will. Which even with no purples, you can still have it pretty much perma. I personally like to be able to not get stunned, rather than having to heal when attacks are recharging.

I'm not saying its the only way, I have seen defense fire/kins farm at +4's. I applaud them and tell them nice job. I prefer not having to spend money to make money.
  21. _Pine_

    Ice/Storm 1v1?

Hmmm, I wasn't aware Dark/Regen was a FotM, I thought it was MA (if not, it prolly soon will be >.>)

But IMO, I don't think it will have enough damage, it might have enough to be annoying while some one else kills though. Also, afaik, every one gets some slow res in PvP, and when you enhance slow, it only enhances the movement, not the -recharge of slows.
  22. Yes he is =) he has bought one before.

Only thought I had was: You really want to 2-3 slot taunts in RttC. From my experience, the taunt doesn't last enough, so you really have to rely on [Taunt] and punch-voke. ESPECIALLY if you are facing +2, +3, and +4's. They resist taunt.

Also, any KB happy blasters or defs (or Kinetic Melee-ist that picked up and slotted KB attacks) will knock them out of RttC, and with no taunt slotted, by the time they get up off their feet, they will have forgotten about you.
  23. But tam, I thought we would team together

I could bring my DA tank
  24. It's good when you stealth story arcs. The mission bonuses are very good. Also it gives merits, which will allow you to buy some really expensive IOs at an early level.

This is from a Soloers perspective, in a team, just wipe the floor.
