I do hope this isn't the start of less informal relationship with the Devs... community reps are all well and good, but having Devs that talked on our forums was one of the many things that made this game great. -
Another thing you have to be aware of, is that it's more important to "look" right in simulation rather than "be" right.
Our brains adjust for an awful lot of stuff to make everything look right. They won't do the same for a simulated image (since in reality it is flat and only a few feet away). Thus, it needs to be faked to look like how we think it should look.
Dunno if that's what you're driving at or not. -

The image doesn't really do it justice, since all the white lines are constantly moving. It actually starts to make you feel a bit ill after a while, since the ground is "moving" but you aren't. You also can't get out, well you probably can now, what with Ouro portals and lots of different types of teleporters but when I went there, you couldn't get out unless a friend TPed you out. -

I think the slopes might lose their uniqueness if they were open all year 'round.

I don't drag my PC around, so I'd leave mine at home. I'd be up for something like that, provided that the drain on computer resources is next to zero.
Optional is, however the best way to go. -
I get the impression a lot of ERPers like to wave it in our faces (ugh! Mental image!) by publicly ERPing... at least that's the impression I get from the number of people who complain about ERPers in Pocket D... it's not like anyone would notice if they were doing it privately right?
