But for a powerleveling-min/maxing-ebil marketeer, that's Tuesday!
-
Agonus sat back in the exotic leather covered executive style chair in his personal office and briefly glanced to the silver face mask that was sitting on the desk in front of him. The only time he ever removed the mask was after he entered his private chambers, and at that, only after he was certain the area was as secure as it could possibly be. The face from his previous life no longer had any use, and thus, there was no need for anyone to see or know it.
Reclining in the luxury chair while massaging his forehead, Agonus took the time to think back to the new blood the Society and Tyrants had acquired over the last few weeks. The new members seemed to be meshing well with the standing Agents. There were some quirks to be overcome, of course, there always were with a collection of such strong personalities. The mystical girl, Witchhunt, was particularly vexing for Agonus, as her slang and pop culture laden speech seemed almost another language compared to the basic English Agonus learned several years ago. Perhaps he would commission the creation of a translator for the girl, or maybe get one of the younger, more comprehensible members to follow her around for similar duties. Aria Force could possibly work well for such purposes.
Regardless of the language barriers, everything was progressing according to plan; the ranks of the Supreme Society and Teen Tyrants were growing. The next order of business would be to conduct the open trial, as Technis had phrased it, near the abandoned labs in Port Oakes. The evening of July 22nd should do nicely to determine the next wave of new blood for the cause. -

There should be an alternate ending if you do this.

I'd offer up a cybercookie, but I'll just leave it at the amount of time they put into doing this vs the benefits of having done so. -
Hmmm... most of my characters are villains, so the opposite thing makes a little more sense.
Heroes
Bombshell Girl : Mz. Megaton
The Wardsman : The Oppressman
Villains
Agonus : Pacis
(Latin, "combat" to "peace")
Ahreman the Red : Vahram the Blue
(Ahreman is an "evil god" and Vahram is an angel in Zoroastrian mythology, already did this, fyi.)
Burning-Star : Bright Star
(I actually already play this up since she's a heroine that snapped, and yes, she will be going good come CHGR.)
Silver Scourge : Brass Boon -
I've had it happen a couple times in varying ways.
The main case was a mutant telekinetic/telepath (Mind/Psi Dom, fwiw) who became a vampire through various RP shenanigans. So I started playing up the telepathic powers as stemming more from the vampirism. Eventually decided to reroll the character, embracing the vampire aspect, so now she's Magic origin.
I also tend to go with a Powers Visual --> Costume --> Name --> Origin route in character creation. I've had a Magic Origin Dark/Dark Brute stuck around 34-35 for ages. I paid for a name change when I still played the character regularly, and tweaked the overall concept a few times to match the origin. Still not happy though. No way I'm going to try to level up another Dark/Dark Brute either, especially with the "investment" of the name change. -

((For those of you who have expressed interest in joining the Society proper or the Teen Tyrants division, we have a VG meeting tonight at 10:30PM, EST. Drop us a line then. We're also working on setting up a public forum with recruitment information at our guildportal site. The link will be posted once ready. Another post with additional information can be found on the SG/VG forum here.
To clear up the contact issue, my global is @The New Black and during the week, I'm usually on from 10PMish, EST, until about 1:30AMish. Last week I was watching my uncles camel farm and wasn't online at all, but I'm back now.

((...huh? How incredibly constructive of you.)) -
((This post is the set-up for a new RP/recruitment thread for a RP heavy VG, the Supreme Society. I'll post more details when things get going a bit.))
*Rumors are spreading among particular secretive channels that someone calling himself Agonus is putting out a call for new blood to join his group, the Supreme Society, as well as a gathering of younger "citizens" the Society works with nicknamed the Teen Tyrants. Interested persons are to keep an eye on the abandoned labs in Port Oakes for further instructions.
There's not much concrete information out there on Agonus. Arachnos records show that he came to the Rogue Isles for the first time on a private flight from Libya in October of 2008. He is known to wear full body armor, though no one knows what he looks like underneath his mask.
As for the Supreme Society, word is that they openly flaunt their ultimate goal of world domination, but they haven't done enough just yet to draw more attention than they can handle. There's a building in Cap Au Diable believed to be their major base of operations, and there's talk of all kinds of high tech patents, arms dealing, and weapons manufacturing connected to the organization. A couple of big names in the villain community with maximum threat levels have also been allied with the Society for some time now, though they're supposed to be looking for new members of all threat levels and origins.
Some months ago, the Teen Tyrants, depending on the age of the person you talk to, were either started as a training grounds for younger malcontents, or started by a teenaged gang out to prove themselves.* -

"Thanks for your reply. Action was taken on your character because she resembled the Marvel Comics character American Dream, and had the word "Marvel" in its name, which is appropriated for several established copyrighted superhero characters. Some characters such as yours might escape our immediate notice, and I apologize that this apparently occurred in your case."
I just got this today? American Dream? I do not see it at all? Just the star and the blonde hair. I think that is pushing it just a bit!
And on the word "marvel". I see alot of "marvel" named heroes around CoH. Marvel Comics do not own that word.....
[/ QUOTE ]
American Dream?!
...
Really?!
That's all sorts of stretching it. Sure, both characters have predominantly blue patriotic themed costumes, and they're both blonde, but that's like saying any flying male toons with tights, capes and black hair should be genericed for a similarity to Superman. -
There's an incredibly -vague- resemblance to the modern Ultra Girl's costume, but yours is done up all patriotic like anyway, but even that is stretching it. As others have said, has to be the Marvel name.
[ QUOTE ]
I recently got a name generic'ed for very valid reasons. I suggested three alternate names, which were completely different from the original and completely innocent. I was told that they were unacceptable because they broke a rule, and to try again. I wrote back to ask what rule they broke and I explained their meaning and my reason for choosing them. I received a very nice response from a second GM saying that the first GM was in error and that the names were acceptable. Subsequently I received an e-mail from the first GM apologizing for his mistake.
So yeah, politely and patiently explain why you think your character should be reinstated and ask if they can explain what rule it broke to be generic'ed in the first place. Good luck.
And fwiw, I vaguely remember a female version of Cap from the '90s when he was stripped of the name Captain America, but I can't recall her name, or what she looked like, and my 'Net searches haven't turned-up anything on her.

Only one person, probably ever, come to think of it, uses the word "deleterious" so much. -

Is there anything to do in-game besides TFs and AE farms???
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope. No story arc missions to run. No market to play with. No RP. No crafting. No bases (Well, there may still be the "Don't modify your base" bug. Don't know offhand.) No PVP. No Ouroboros flashback system. They don't give you a base 50 or so slots to make characters either. -

I have a feeling they aren't going to announce it until they sort out everything with the MA. It is possible (based upon no ones opinion but my own) that they want to set it up so MA content is not subject to double xp, but that would take work to implement, and may take time (due to lower priority). Keep in mind this is all speculation on my part.
[/ QUOTE ]
speculation, yes, but logical speculation. i feel the same way, they have obviously put thought into MA in that regards, as patrol xp doesn't count, so i would assume that MA won't give 2xXP.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, I was thinking this too.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup. Same here too, especially with the brief history AE already has. -
I've done so a handful of times, and I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure I've only done it for people I know in-game. I only touch minor things like grammar or adding in the few VV editing tricks I've picked up.

That's right now what I'm hoping they'll do as well. A dedicated RP server.
[/ QUOTE ]
'Aye. And official RP server would be nifty. Nothing silly like an RPvP server though. *glares at Funcom*
Or at least something as unanimous as Virtue. -
I don't really banter, but I'll join in on conversations or comment on something out of the ordinary.
[ QUOTE ]
Nice work, MD. Though you forgot the random 12-year old who rolls up the most offensive character they can imagine, and then bounces around Atlas shouting racial or sexist slurs.
[/ QUOTE ]
I came across a character in broadcast in Mercy a week ago who's name was a common "Noun Verber" term with the first letters switched. I pointed out in broadcast that the name wouldn't last. He asked why anyone would report the name. I made a joke comparing how thinly veiled the vuglarity in his "name" was. He then goes quiet, and I get a couple PMs from other players wondering how old the player was. -

@Amazing
Is your guild in TOR an RP group by any chance? :P
[/ QUOTE ]
A few players from my RP VG, myself included, are interested in the game. At least 2 of us will be leaning towards ebil, and I'll be starting a RP group over there unless I find another one. -
I'm all sorts of excited for this, having gone through the NGE too. Depends on what you can do in game, but I doubt I'll be resurrecting my old SWG character. More than likely going to be adapting Agonus, my main villain here, over to there. (Agonus is also my name on the SWTOR forums.)

On a sidenote, up until now I thought your name rhymed with "if", not life. -
The flip-to-fly animation is cool, but I'd be more than giddy to just have that female idle pose.
-
One so far. A fallen hero type character. GR will hopefully make it so that she can be "redeemed" and go back to Paragon.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but when you have your shield and or weapon out the costume change emotes don't work. What I also noticed, I don't know if its a bug or not, that when you read someones fortune it doesn't always work even when they except it. Just thought I would say something, if this has already been mentioned sorry ...:-)
[/ QUOTE ]
I've noticed the same thing too. And sometimes even after turning all toggles off, my shield stays on, preventing the animation.
Ex, could you confirm it for us? And if you can, tell us if anything will be done about it in the short term. I /petitioned(technical issues) it but did not get a response.
[/ QUOTE ]
Same thing here on a Bane Spider with the mace. With the mace out, the animation doesn't work, but the costume still changes. When the mace disappears, the change emote works fine. -
[ QUOTE ]
...I'd also like to mention that I'd love to be able to get the High Collar cape without the collar - just the mantle (the shoulder part) - but no the actual collar.
[/ QUOTE ]
This. The costume parts and emotes are awesome. Great work.
Buuuuut is it possible to get the High Collar cape without the collar? Make the High Collar a separate shoulder piece, or have there be like a options to have either just the Collar or just the cape? -
The video was sort of brutal, yeah. The "I'm a Hero, I'm a Villain" fellow/people not available?
MA, hopefully, will be all sorts of fantastic, though I'm still waiting for confirmation of being able to Branch in some form. Even if it isn't there I'll be more than happy. It did just dawn on me earlier today that this might prove interesting for the altaholic rather-RP-than-mishers, making it even harder for them to ever get a character leveled.
