In fact, I'm quite sure that everyone on Paragon's payroll has gone above and beyond for the playerbase. It's why I've stayed subscribed for 7 years.

Dink is amazing, and deserves 1.21 gigawatts of praise for her work.

This might not have been the place for expressing such sentiment, but it didn't deserve ridicule or a frivolous dismissal. After the uproar over the Gunslinger pack we saw the Carnival of Light pack released with wonderful bits for female avatars but nothing substantial for males. The new Imperial Dynasty armor has plenty of amazing pieces, but the only unique-to-a-sex items are for females only (crowns, specifically). The Pocket D Valentines day pack again had plenty of stuff for everyone but only exclusive items for female characters.

Now the most requested piece of wardrobe that was distinct for the male avatar has been ported to be for everyone, and female avatars get access to two full costume sets in the Gunslinger pack - including the single costume set that's available for male characters. After the hullabaloo surrounding favoring male costume bits, it's looking like the costume department has shifted to the other extreme.

What was asked for was equivalent costume pieces, designed with a masculine or feminine flair on the same theme. But instead of getting distinct options for both, it appears that female avatars are getting the male costume pieces ported directly along with something extra.

I'm carefully phrasing things with "looks like" and "appears" because I don't know what's coming down the pipe - The Carnival of Light was being worked on before things blew up over the Gunslinger Pack, as was probably the Club Outfits. But for crying out loud, can we get a "Clockfaced belt is on it's way!" instead of a disgruntled meme? Distinct options for everyone, please.
    QFT.

Like it or not, what he is saying appears to be true. I like Zwill, but I think his response was in poor taste.

Edit: Well after Zwill's last post the word "appears" seems to incorrect. I dislike the decision immensely.
  2. I would like for the Hasten FX to be customizable, or to just plain go away.

    Now for some ideas.

I like the Aura that is attached to the Ascension Radiant set, and the Victorian aura. Some full body (or various body part) energy armor in that style would be awesome. Something that is pure energy, that glows, and is somewhat transparent.

Auras on weapons would be so awesome. It is something that has been requested for a long long time.

Mostly I just want the Hasten thing.

I agree with this. My favorite guests tend to be Synapse and Second Measure.

I am glad the FX team knows that we hate the Hasten FX, and that we want pool customization. Now if they would only do something about it. I REALLY wish the producers would allow them to move forward on this, even if it has to be purchased in the market to get it done.

I don't think it is the best either. Best is very subjective, and relies a lot on play style. Mainly I agree with Fanboy, you do seem to going out of your way to be negative about the set. You seem to want to counter any positive that is brought up about the set, and I will continue to argue against that.

But is it as capable as my MA/SR in iTrials? Nope, for reasons already mentioned. Tone down the bias a bit please.
Several of us think you are just trolling at this point, but what ever.

I have a lvl 50 +3 TW Brute, and a lvl 50 +1 Staff/EA scrapper. Both played from level 1-50. To be very clear my favorite secondary is Electric Armor, which strolls through all the content you have mentioned. However we are talking about Energy Armor, which is my second favorite.

My play style is not much different that what you describe what yours to be, but I think my build style may be. See my energy drain DOES bottom out all but EBs and AVs on the first hit. Part of that may be because I went with Agility, and another part may be that I slotted it to do it. I can also use an Interface to keep that end bar low if I want.

Today on test I was able to stack the def buff from energy drain 3 times with the staff toon, most I can get with TW toon is two, but I also have not slotted any purples in him.

I will take a moment to be confident in what I have done. In 7 years playing this game, there is just not much I haven't done. EA is as good as most, and better than many. Of the three you named SD is the only one I feel is on par with EA.

Do you not find it odd that we are all arguing against you? I am surprised EvilGeko or Brand X has not stepped in yet.

    Thanks for any help.
It is viable w/o Energy Cloak, but it is better with. It suppresses the invisible effect when you attack any way. I suggest taking it, I three slotted it on all of my EA builds. I also prefer to see my toons, so I just turn it off when I am between missions.

The +rech that it has works really well with KM, it allows for CS to be up more often, which in turn gives PS a chance to be up more. KM also reduces mob damage, which means when you get hit, it is not as hard. KM is a set that really blooms with more recharge.

    That was pretty good.

What I see here is gender exclusion! Females are now able to make characters like Hank McCoy (The Beast from X-Men) but males are not! Not fair I say!

Note: I am kidding, I am not serious at all.

The end drain isn't really mitigation. It doesn't drain fast enough for you to see benefit since you'll be attacking in most cases. The first ED won't drain a mob's end bar completely. By the time ED has recharged, the mobs should already be dead or close to it. Same thing with the recharge bonus. How often is your Entropic Aura going to be saturated with 10 mobs for you to constantly see benefit from the +40% recharge bonus? Mobs die, and you have to move on to the next spawn and it drops back down to 8.5% meanwhile. I actually prefer Stalker EA, SR, or ElA because their recharge bonuses are an auto +20%. Makes it easier to build for when considering perma-hasten and attack chains. And while stacked ED puts it ahead of SR, it cuts into time that could be spent attacking and directly mitigating. One application of ED with ten mobs puts EA only a little bit ahead of SR but again EA still has to worry about its holes.
Go tell controllers and doms that end drain is not mitigation. How much have you actually played EA, and at what level of build? Because the performance issues you say you have seen seem to be different than what the rest of us are seeing.

You are putting SR, WP, and Shield over a set that can achieve the same def numbers, has a click heal, a click end drain, and +rech to make both up faster? I get the impression you are intentionally missing a point.

You also seem to think that SR, WP, and Shield have no weak points. Yeah, continuing the conversation is pointless. I will wait let someone else take this up. Me, I am going to make a Staff/Ea toon as soon as it hit live.
  9. There is something that I feel is not being taken into account when it comes to EA (and ElecA when it is discussed) and that thing is Energy Drain.

    1. With the right slotting it is pretty easy to completely drain a mobs end. Oddly mobs w/o end don't attack much. Go figure.

    2. This power not only drains, but adds +Def.

    3. It stacks if you have high enough +rech.

So, EA is easy to soft cap to typed damage, has an end drain/recovery, that end drain adds +def, and can be stacked. This puts it above SR, and WP. Shield is pretty hard to beat in most cases, but it takes very heavy IO slotting to reach its real potential.

I have every scrapper secondary except fire at lvl 50. EA and ElecA are by and far my favorite. I do tend to push myself with Pylon tests, and the RWZ challenge.

Now for some numbers, which I suck at, so I will give the numbers and someone else can do the math if they like. I am using my staff/EA's numbers, well because that is where I am playing right now. I am listing base numbers/1 application of ED/ stacked application.

    Ranged 22/22.80/22.80

    Melee 38.42/38.42/38.42

    AoE 21.55/21.55/21.55

    Smashing 60.39/65.34/69.39

    Lethal 60.39/65.34/69.39

    Fire 47.40/52.35/56.40

    Cold 49.56/54.60/58.65

    Energy 53.13/58.08/62.13

    NE 44.39/49.43/53.39

    Psi 21.55/21.55/21.55

I typed this while standing in a group of ten +1 mobs on the wall. They were not attacking much because they didn't have any end. Also my recharge rate at this point was 192.50 which means I can attack A LOT and hit my click heal quite a bit too.

With the soft cap at 45% (iirc) much of that is over kill. Also I am not having any trouble with any of the mobs in the game. On this toon, or on my TW/EA. I am not even the best builder in the world, and did the test build w/o mids to help. EA is a VERY strong set.

  11. Street Justice. Soon it will be Staff Melee, which is weird because it is a weapon I can't stand in real life.

For secondary powers it is a coin toss between electric armor and energy aura.

They have said they heard us for over 2 years now. I would REALLY love to change hasten. As I have said many times, I would even be willing to buy the option from the store, but I would prefer to get it for free.

Damn it, either way I want to customize Hasten.

I wouldn't mind a pack that expands Hats, so they can be used with different hair styles. Also scabbards and quivers. One day I can hope.

What I want more than anything is to be able to customize hasten!!!!! I want it so bad that I would PAY for it.
  16. Yeah, I think this is one of the greatest things about our Dev team. They hear out voices in most cases. I really like this, even if some of the options I voted for are not winning.
  17. Well, now you know why you are running so fast. Your butt is on fire!!!

This is what I have seen for the past 7 years also.

*Ok, pre-level shifts, the STF or LRSF are somewhat excepted
I avoid teams who request certain ATs also. Very few things in this game require a specific combination of ATs to complete.

My favorite though is when someone requests a DeBuffer. I only play scrappers and brutes, so I will respond with "I DeBuff HP."
