Quote:I guess I could see that with the animal ears. Maybe they could duplicate the three I listed so they could be used either way.I use some of those options together with colored ears to make different looking head details, so I wouldn't really appreciate this. Just make it so head details are split into different sections. I still don't know why you can't wear a clown collar with a beard.
-
Quote:I could live with that.In general I would like the Detail 1 section split in two. One section for HEAD Details (Horns/Wings and the like) and one for FACE Details (Sunglasses/Forehead Spikes/Eye Wraps/etc.).
It doesn't make sense to me that you can't have horns and sunglasses.
I mean, come on. -
There's some pieces in the Details 1 section that could/should be moved to the Ears section of the Head category in the costume creator.
Ear Piece
Receivers
Wings (Legacy?)
It could open up a few more design options and make these 'ear' pieces easier to find. Less clutter on the Details 1 (Standard) and Details 2 (Full Mask) sections. -
-
Can't wait for the overview (since I missed it on test); like to know what I'm getting into before I make a purchase decision.
nvm... its already in the wiki. -
For Destiny:
+Stealth/Movement Speed (Slow Resis)
+ToHit/Range (Perception)
+Secondary Effect/+Max Target Cap
[As well as possibly coming up with different combinations for what is already available] -
Can only figure out 3 of them... so far.

Quote:I have to disagree here. Just maintaining a guide to cover all of the Incarnate Trees (Alpha through Omega) and all of the branch variants (when all is said and done; could be almost as large as at least a full AT section) warrants it own thread. Then we add in the iTrials (which will feasibly match the number of Tress available; possibly more), the non-trial Incarnate Taskforces, the non-50 level Incarnate content, the incarnate 'market', Shards (Threads, Astrals, Empyricals and Salvage/Components), etc... it just becomes too big of a behemoth to leave littered at odd spots in the Forums. While I sorta agree with the idea of a Market forum, I don't think an Incarnate forum would work that well. Yes you could have a place for all discussions about the Incarnate powers and tactics for trials and such. But those discussions already fit into other sections of the board. There are threads in the AT sections on what what Incarnate powers to pick with particular powerset combos, tactic discussions on the Master of badges in the Badge section, and general guides on all of it in the Guides section.
Having it all in one place might seem like it would be easier to find, but the reality is it would be spreading the experts out more. Some folks post all over the boards and are knowledgeable about many areas of the game. But others are more focused and only hit their area of interests. You would lose their knowledge because they are only interested in Incarnate stuff as a peripheral subset of their main focus.
It's the Endgame; a large system that warrants its own section... just as PvP, Market/Inventions and Architect warrant their own sections; if not, moreso.
Not saying that player's can't/shouldn't be able to add Incarnate info to their AT guides; but if a player needs to find general or comparative information, they shouldn't have to dig through every player's guide to locate specific information they're trying to find. -
The system already allows creators to tag their arcs with an alignment. How about increasing the utility (opportunities) of the Mission Architect by allowing its (level appropriate) missions to function as a Tip Mission generator.
Allow AE missions to drop Tips.
Apply whatever limitations you need to minimize loop-holing; for example:
Not being able to run the same mission repeatedly (either by cooldown or by making players run missions in between)
Having the missions reward alignment progress at a rate of 2 to 1.
Having the creation meet certain 'goal criteria' (so there wont be a 'click-the-single-glowie-on-a-map-with-no-enemies-to-win strategy)
Not allowing them to be the final Morality Mission.
etc, your discretion....
[another thing would be to allow the player to choose whether or not they want to run an alignment tagged mission as an alignment mission] -
Combine the News and Announcement forums with the Development forums... most times, its an overlap. Move any official Discussions topics to the Announcement and Discussion sub-header under News and Announcements (again; overlap). Same with the non-english Forums (at least the News, Announcements, Developments and Discussion areas); everything else could probably go into the appropriate Server sub-forums.
Move the PvP to the Player Help forums.
If you're serious about minimizing clicks... leave the AT Forums alone; otherwise just turn it into a sub-header under Player Help. Same with the Server Forums; either leave them as is or merge them uner the For Fun header.
IMO, the last thing you want to do is turn the Forums 'shivan' and leave anybody (new or vet) to the mercy of what passes for a search function here.
[While you're at it, you may want to consider adding in an Incarnate's section to the Player Help forums; with all the trees, branches, buds, trials, lead-up content, 'money' systems, conversions, etc - we should have had one etched in stone a long time ago] -
Quote:A general rule of thumb is this:
There is a grey area for many things, and much moderation is done at our discretion. Things on the forums, much like in real life, are not always black and white.
There are some threads, such as ongoing stories, where a bit of inactivity is going to be given the blind eye. Most Necro'd threads will not. There are times where we will allow the discussion of real life events, particularly when it is something on the level of a major natural disaster, and providing that discussion stays civil and non controversial. We will not allow the discussion of "sacred cows" here on the forums, bovines which could easily be interpreted as real life events including and centering upon: politics, religion or controversial societal topics.
The majority of us are adults here. We should all know what is and is not appropriate for discussion here on the forums. The rules are written in a way for us to bend the rules when, and only when, the circumstances call for it, at the sole discretion of Paragon Studios.
So, discussing Praetoria is out... -

Quote:Pretty much how I felt about it:And what about those of us who actually wrote a fun campy story that revolved around an extension of an in-game villain group?
Seriously, I have had to adjust it before and now I'm just going to delete the story because it's not worth it anymore to deal with it.
The story is "The Supa Dupa Cookie Caper". The premise of the story was originally a group of extra tough Supa Trolls kidnapped a girl scout troop and stole their cookies. Supa Dupa Trolls were SS/Regen custom Lieutenants (made to mimic the existing Supa Trolls found in Skyway, but with the added threat of getting back up). I had made a second story arc to explain their origin even and put some work into actually explaining them and why they were amped up Supa Trolls. When they nerfed the XP for having only one enemy type, I reluctantly added minions and bosses even though it made them less like the Villain group they were emulating. The mission did give (probably too) good XP when it was all Lieuts. I knew that nobody would run it at all if I left it as all Lieuts after the change since the XP would not be worth the risk. (The explanation arc hasn't been available for a while since I never bothered to change that one and it got banned and I didn't feel like bothering to change it)
And now they won't give XP after reviving. So I am left with a choice: Keep them as is to preserve the story and wind up pissing off anyone who plays it because they all get back up and give no extra xp to make up for it; or I remove their revive power and lose the whole point of the group. They're Supa DUPA Trolls. Not very Dupa if they don't revive.
So yeah, just gonna delete the story. Whatever, thanks exploiters for ruining my campy story.
Wrote a couple of story/pressure cooker arcs (not Ventrue level story arcs, mind you); got lost in the exploit arc sauce (did some advertising and review for review to push back) (altered methods and critters to keep up with the Jonses (in regard to rewards)... still not enough. Continuous critter tweaks (portals, forced ranged attack, now this) brought more risk than reward (and I've attempted to compensate for each of these changes and have had to alter the story a bit each time).
The balancing act is getting to the point where its getting to be a pain in the butter. I want to have a decent story that has cool enemies with cool powers AND gives competitive rewards.
I'm kind of burnt out in getting caught between the story nazis, canon patriots and the exploit anarchs but I'm not going to quit over it... I'll adapt (when I decide its worth putting more effort into). -
Cool set of maps; want them for the AE.
-
The masses, in general, tend to be... flawed and essentially incapable of competent independence (mob mentality, [social chaos] and what not); hence the need to be governed in the first place.
Either someone (or group) rises to the occasion to keep the mob mentality/[social chaos] quelled or assigns someone to do it for them.
The New Testament Kingdom of Heaven falls right in line with a dictatorship; so I guess its evil (in of itself and all things from it). -
lol, another way to look at this would be to keep in self-rezzing mobs to slow down the reward rate to intentionally throw off Marty.
That would be irony. -

Kinda bummed about the no rez XP thing. I don't have a farm arc but having that option in there added reward to a theme that I was using that many just would rather avoid if it weren't for the reward.
Not that people were banging down my door to play the arc but the net effect I could see is the AE crowd going from complimenting my use of rez to complaining about it and dropping what little ratings I had managed to scrape up. (ie. Risk vs. Reward turned into just Risk; which may be frowned upon by more than just the farmers)
The other thing about this change is that it allowed me to increase the number of mobs without actually increasing it. Now that workaround is dead.
What I don't get is why they just didn't pull the current rez powers like they did the others.
Now I have to re-balance my relevant arcs. Without the rez option, I'm caught between having missions that players blow through in half the time and bumping up critters to unmanageable levels (which doesn't take much) that I have Uber-toons on my reviews page crying about.
You are whittling down options for those that use custom critters.
At this point, I will echo the sentiment of even having rewards for AE if at every turn, a new blanket nerf is going to be added in.
Also at this time, I will again suggest just allowing Ticket rewards for defeats and completions then creating a Ticket/Time sink by allowing them to be exchanged for XP, Inf and Prestige (in addition to the current tables). Keep a Ticket cap, adjust the Ticket drop amount and rate, bring back all the removed powers and ease back on some of the nerfs (like this one).
Okay, I'm done whining, for now. -

Quote:Had tons of lag in Mercy 2 on that same server.Yeah, like Ms. Liberty was any help, standing around looking pretty while we were getting thrashed by Warwalkers and a thousand DE seeds. She didn't even turn around and look when Hami made an appearance...
BTW, the end part was weird. I was in Exalted - Atlas 4, and Hami only went away about 5 minutes after we defeated all of the seeds. I suspect we need to clear all Atlas maps to advance in the zone event, not just the map we're currently occupying. Good news is that the new server is completely lag-free, unlike the invasion a few months ago -
Quote:No, my point was that systems are fairly neutral... the human element is what can tip them towards a given point.democracies are tyrannical . That's why the USA is a republic lol is the the point? If not sorry it is early in the am .
Thany... I'm not sure I agree with the Constitution perspective; primarily because its been altered multiples times, people are always looking to alter it further and its open to (mis)interpretation - just like any other law. -
Quote:Incorrect, with the advent of GR, blueside became populated with both Rogues and Vigilantes. The days of blueside being hero specific are done. It's good vs evil - the blue side of the game is always the heroic, morally correct one - Heroes only ever fight people who are doing something wrong.
Incorrect, it's not good vs evil when good is allied with evil (both Primal and Praetorian) to combat a different evil.
Incorrect, heroes do indeed clash with each other; its one of the merchandising staples of comic books and it was represented in CoX long before GR. (As in the RWZ storyline)
