Nah mixed. I know there was two lv 50s, one lv 35, a 24 (cant remember the other one).
[/ QUOTE ]
And a 41. Though I killed everyone bar one 50 atleast once.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yea ya didnt kill me . But you killed the lvl24 three times. How many times a lvl 50 need to hit a lvl 24 to kill it?
/Dev FTD!!

without u i suspect it wud have been a slaughter in chives favour -

Blizzard is also ranged, however its DoT, and the damage is pretty poor because it can't be affected by Aim/Buildup. That should be changing in I7 though, hopefully.
[/ QUOTE ]
if my planner is correct TB is 13.889 and Blizzard is 10.0008 and like u say its DoT which can be healed, i personally dont think anything compares to snipe followed by TB but it depends on how u play ur blaster, i think for a ground based "blapper" i'd still pick fire over ice but thats just me for 1v1 ice is the best primary but for teams i'd pick elec, fire, ice in that order imo, obviously with energy secondary
edit: but it will definately be interesting to see blizzard once it can be buffed -
[ QUOTE ]
Yes, while with the right amount of Buff's and Debuffs, you can do reasonable damage (though with the same buff/debuff ratio pretty much any other AT will outdamage you by far, sadly *sigh*), Lode's Defender is Empathy/Psi.
Empathy isn't big on the self buffs, especially when coming to damage. So yes, you can get some kills, and yes, you can aid a team blasting, but I personally feel there are other things you can be doing than throwing large chunks of moderately painful blasts, for reasonably large end cost, at people.

I wasn't going to include Thunderous Blast at all considering you said this was a pvp build, but I just couldn't bring myself to make a blaster build without the nuke power. Can take it out if you find a better power, you shouldn't have trouble modifying the build to find some slots.
[/ QUOTE ]
You really should include your nuke, believe me nukes have their uses in PvP. Anything that hits this hard has some use.
[/ QUOTE ]
TB is what puts elec/ above all other blaster primaries for PvP imo as its the only ranged nuke -
[ QUOTE ]
TF wins over thunder strike, yes, but the other attacks of elec are as good, and it also gets shocking grasp, a good damage melee hold, which /nrg lacks.
And of course there's power sink which is far superior to conserve, but not that much a PvP power.
[/ QUOTE ]
/nrg has power boost and boost range, enough said -

Cherry does attend test server regularly, but not sure i'd feed his/her ego like everyone else.

its called being nice and giving compliments where its due, cherry doesnt have an ego and is one of the most helpful player in the game and as imaginary asked for people to vouch for her i dont see the need for this comment -

...perhaps Controllers....are tougher to play...
[/ QUOTE ]
You have to be kidding right. Find a squishy, spam holds till said squishy is out of breakfrees, attack. V difficult.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was talking about team PvP, if a Controller isn't careful about where he is and isn't sure his team is backing him up well enough, he gets swarmed and destroyed.
[/ QUOTE ]
in pentad or a team with a fair mix of ATs the controller is the hardest hero AT to play by a long way imo -

I no longer fight in pvp I retired a while ago but I still attend the fights and events regularly to offer help advice and tactics whenever I'm asked. I'd be glad to offer assistance if you need it but I'm afraid I have no way of proving my pvp credentials to you.
(We already have a channel on union for this mainly filled with our test server fighters and it works quite well and is great for setting up arena fights)
[/ QUOTE ]
Im sorry cherry Im so strickt in who get to be moderator, if you take a look at the boards you will see alot of whining and alot of bad advise. If this channel is to work, I think it would be to get really good advise everytime. But I have heard about you, so if some fellow unionites who goes to test server recomends you sure. Fx Im gonna include people from defiant who doesnt go there, but I know from personal experience that they know their stuff.
[/ QUOTE ]
i don't how to put this...how about if the romans had a god/godess of PvP her name wud be Cherry
i think every1 who PvP's on test on monday nights on union will agree that Cherry's skill is amongst the best and her knowledge is unrivaled by any seriously every1 directs their PvP questions to Cherry as literally she knows everything
and she's not fully retired, still helps out when we're desperate, the pentad night before the last one she helped us out after our troller had to leave and we beat every1
in simple, u want Cherry Fusion on this channel, the S4 union heavyweight champion title above her name backs this up too -

For a kin, I'd suggest only taking hasten and SS from travel pools, IR and hasten give you more than enough mobility IMO, and hasten+siphon speed is just sick...
[/ QUOTE ]
I hope you mean to stack Super Speed and IR, and Super Speed and Siphon Power, opposed to Hasten with those.
Else I'd be not only slightly confused, but a little worried...
And if I'm right, Night mainly suggest SJ for getting Acro, which gives good KB protection which is damn handy for PvE.
[/ QUOTE ]
i find for PvE hover with siphon speed is all the knockback protection u need, far too many other awesome powers in fire/kin for PvE to waste 2 powers to get knockback resist imo -

mmmm so its the whole of defiant vs. 1 vg? sounds fair
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, they seem to talk like they're the best. We're just asking to follow up with what they say.
Hell, you guys are welcome to join with them. In fact, that would be even better. Lets get a "The Best Of Union vs The BEst Of Defiant" SG rumble going on. Matches are in teh arena, tactical start with the cap at level 40 so villains can join in too.
[/ QUOTE ]
count me in for this, i no several PvP'rs that wud like this to happen, we'll let u pwn violators first then we'll sort something out -
how long will matches be? whats the rules on ppl d/c'in? S4 rules apply?
-
P.S. well done for organising this will be great fun
-
i'll try and put a team together, 1or2 from mine can't make it but we shud be able to find a couple others

Think i read that when you attack with it on it stops then goes through the animation of your attack then wirlwind starts up again. I havnt tried it but i can imagine it being a bit of a pain if it roots you while the wirlwind reactivates after an attack. Wirlwind will still give you good proction against blappers with no accrobatics and it is a great knock back power IF you dont have any such powers in your sets

This build has AS, Disembowl and Headsplitter it isn't really lacking knockback.

Yes , i wouldnt take it with a BS scrapper... maybe a spines

i wud never have taken it now or b4 with any build but 99% of ppl wudnt take fly so each to their own -

Like you say when you see players like KnightStalker, or Gatling or ShamanX (for example) you can see that they can be very efficent with builds and game play that a few times ago we would have considered as weird on Vigilance.

think most people still think us using fly is weird mate -

Nobody has actually said Base Raids are the only form of PvP it's just that has been their PvP experience with AoW. Just like you X, you talk about your experiences with AoW which relate to the Arena all the time. So does that mean you see the Arena as the only form of PvP? of course not it's the only PvP contact you've had with AoW like the SG's who Base Raid.
There seems to be a lot of AoW flaming from what i've read so far and it's not because we are actually bad at PvP. We have been known to beat Three Lions and even the French. Some of us, especially myself don't have an extensive range of PvP characters to use in the Arena so right away AoW are at a disadvantage but we hang in there, we participate and we do what we can with the builds we have. We win some we lose some, we even fight Three Lions in 3v3s knowing we're going to lose because they have builds to counteract ours and not to mention teams are severely uneven, but we turn up and fight for fun because lets face it that's what it's about right?
[/ QUOTE ]
well shoot me down for trying to get more people into the arena
we've fought u when the odds are in ur favour too because thats how u get better, i take far more away from losing a match than winning, whenever we fight we always change our characters around and often even mix our teams between AoW, 3lions and knight walkers and we always have fun -
[ QUOTE ]
edit: Art of War seem, from what i've read, to have the edge on all base raid sg's because they pvp in the arena and have become very good at it, if you can be good against the best from union and france then i wud have thought being good at base raiding is a whole lot easier
[/ QUOTE ]
how is that saying anything bad about AoW ten? i'd say thats a compliment -

[ QUOTE ]
They are currently NOT a ranged damage class.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's right, they're a damage class - with both ranged and melee damage. The greater damage Blasters can do (typically melee) comes with the greatest risk (not having the defences to take melee) - except that at the moment, the safest place for my En/En to be is IN melee, with toggledrop>toggledrop>stun>WINWINWIN. Making it less easy (but still poossible) to drop toggles will help adjust the system to something approaching equilibrium, IMHO - although it stills remains to be seen exactly how Cryptic are going about it, so I'm in "wait and see" mode.
[/ QUOTE ]
the point i've been trying to make this whole post is that just because tanks have mez protection it doesnt mean we cant fight without it, if i remember correctly /fire and /ice blasters have no stuns so we're being build specific. a /energy tank has stuns as well as /ss and /stone iirc so the tank can stun the blaster just as easy (i no blaster /energy has power boost but my point is a tank can pop a bf just as easy as a blaster and has more HP and self heals) i just hope this toggle dropping nerf isn't too extreme as i currently have no problem with it and thats all i have to say on this thread
