Need a hand with a pvp build!

Can anyone run through a largely pvp build for my elec/ice blaster please?

Trying to get as many handy powers in for use in Sirens & beyond, but I'm a little stuck!

This is my main badge collecting toon, so I am trying to give it the best possible build to do pvp as well, knowing that my chances are pretty slim to get a 400rep, I would be happy with 100!

The problem I'm facing is trying to get leaping for acrobatics/stealth/leadership for tactics & fitness pre-30 and actually have some blaster powers!! along with a few nice secondaries.

Thanks

Ok, quick build I did. Ignore all of the slotting numbers i've literally just put them in as I was thinking them now in any logical order.

You've said this is for pvp so i've tried to give you everything you wanted. All the powers you've asked for you get before lvl30 so in use for sirens. Could've chosen better primary attacks but I haven't used elec/* before so someone else may be able to give you better choices or slotting.

I've overloaded you for accuracy so that you should be able to hit almost anything and penetrate a PFF whilst using aim+buildup.

All your toggles (sooo many you wanted :P) are slotted with end red so that once you get attacking (assuming solo) you should have more end available to you. They can be re-slotted if you find the end you drain through your attacks is enough to sustain you. Like I said, i've little experience with the electric primary.

Slotting Reasons.

Lightning Bolt, Ball Lightning, Ice Sword and Zapp are quite obvious for a pvp build.

Chilblain is slotted for use as a control power as I know how annoying -recharge is even with hasten.

Swift is 3 slotted so that as a blaster if you're held etc you can run away quicker without the need for sprint (free space on trays). Also negates the slow from stealth.

Chilling embrace is to interrupt a stalkers AS and again the -recharge.

SJ is your travel power, may as well have it as good as possible if you need to chase/out run.

Health is 3 slotted as I had some spare slots available. Plus more regen is good.

Assault, Tactics and Acrobatics just end red to help with end recovery.

Build up and Aim have more recharge slots to compensate for lack of hasten. 2 THB's for added +acc

Tesla Cage was a confusing one for me but it looks like a very good hold. Hense slotted for accuracy and hold duration. The other 2 slots are interchangable. 2 recharge may well be better.

Shiver is your basic opener. -rechage again (you'll be really annoying some people by now ) and slow. Also a range for obvious reasons as a blaster.

Freezing touch is your melee hold if they get too close. I have this power on Organi and I find it very useful and powerful.

Shocking bolt is another hold (mag1 i think, tesla is mag3). But it has very good damage available and would be a good addition to your attack chain, however its recharge is quite bad.

Invisibility not included upto now because I couldn't see many places to put it. However it should serve you well particulary for getting the first strike.

Charged Armor is slotted as I had spare slots and gives you about 20% res to smashing, lethal and energy which is pretty good.

I wasn't going to include Thunderous Blast at all considering you said this was a pvp build, but I just couldn't bring myself to make a blaster build without the nuke power. Can take it out if you find a better power, you shouldn't have trouble modifying the build to find some slots.

Hope this is ok, i'm gonna go to bed now :/

You really should include your nuke, believe me nukes have their uses in PvP. Anything that hits this hard has some use.

TB is what puts elec/ above all other blaster primaries for PvP imo as its the only ranged nuke

Blizzard is also ranged, however its DoT, and the damage is pretty poor because it can't be affected by Aim/Buildup. That should be changing in I7 though, hopefully.

if my planner is correct TB is 13.889 and Blizzard is 10.0008 and like u say its DoT which can be healed, i personally dont think anything compares to snipe followed by TB but it depends on how u play ur blaster, i think for a ground based "blapper" i'd still pick fire over ice but thats just me for 1v1 ice is the best primary but for teams i'd pick elec, fire, ice in that order imo, obviously with energy secondary

edit: but it will definately be interesting to see blizzard once it can be buffed

4am! Now that's dedication.

Thanks very much for this build, it's certainly looking like a damn good build for pvp

TB will probably get swapped around with Invis, although getting it in earlier does look a bit tricky, only way would be to take aim later & that's not really an option!

Very pleased with what you've done anyhow

Cheers

No problem man. I enjoy playing around with builds and things like that. It wouldn't be hard to swap some powers around just tried to get you what you wanted in before 30 for sirens.

I'm really chuffed with this, as I couldn't find a build anywhere for elec/ice

Low & behold it's done for me overnight!! More than I could wish for.

Thanks man

Be careful what you wish for hehe (pointless post but 200! yay)

Just some quick comments:

- Chilblain is mainly useful for the -fly (more than the slow), so I wouldn't waste that many slots on it.
- I would still go for some thtbuffs in Tactics and a 3rd recharge in Aim/Build Up.
- For PvP, I find Swift/Hurdle more useful than Health (and I would only 3-slot it for tanks/scrappers).
- Try to add slots to CJ/Hurdle (if you take it), probably more useful than extra ones in SJ.
- Don't know if you can drop anything else, but you may consider Frozen Fists: damage is not great, but dropping toggles is

Hope some of this helps

Thanks for that Chango!

Already used 1 of my many respecs, I'll see how it goes for a bit, then I may try frozen fists for those toggle drops Prevp I used to have chilblain slotted with holds, end redx & dmg, I'm not so sure it will do much damage to other players, so maybe it is just a -fly in pvp!

The added regen doesnt add surviablity! It moderetly lowers downtime (which has no use in PvP). The isnt the reason not to get it thou.
The reason why you dont want health or in anyway slot is defiance. It makes it much harder to use cause you regen over the good values.
Regen works by adding more ticks, and not how much you heal/tick if I remember corectly. So if the tick comes to fast, you cant get the blast of with full defiance.
