Took me freaking forever to get there. Wasn't until I ran into someone leveling up their warshade (who actually knew what the heck he was doing) that I got there. Once I hit 40 though it was just a matter of slightly over a week running my content that I hit 50.
    Ohgodtherats...

Yes, thank you for reminding me of the scarring memories that I had locked away from the 30-40 range back then...

Seriously, it was not fun back then. 40-50 was more a case of patience and persistance. 30-40 was just pain.
  2. Hmm, both Test and Live take a few seconds to 'Check Updater' with me, before shutting, re-opening and working fine for me. *shrug*

    It's a tad wierd though.

    Yes! It's mandatory, damnit!

That and the internet is not a kind medium when it comes to humour and sarcams
  4. I know where poptart is coming from.
My first Hero to 50 (and still to this day only) was a grind from lvl 40-50. Back then, debt could eat your exp bar alive and the gradient was not smooth. And this was before nummy things like the RWZ, Cimerora and the associated TFs. This was a case of 'if you want lvl 50, get your butt on a Family farm map and hope you can stay awake long enough to get 50'. I wanted Kheldians that badly, back then. And it still took a long time.

Now? People don't have to go through that to experience them. And Im glad no one else has to go through that.
So I dont get why people are on such a high horse over 'we had to do it the hard way, waaahhh'. I took 15 months, probably more villain side. So, kindly cry me a river.

Thanks for the feedback, Im slightly stuck in some old ways, like not slotting Set IOs in Build up and Aim, forgetting that the recharge boosts from other parts all negate the lost stuff.

  8. I'd just like some two-hande animations for mace, axe and sword. I mean, the Wolf Spiders seem perfectly able to use two hands on their mace, and the ghost slaying axe temp also manages it.

Some of the mace and axe animations just look...really pansy. To me at least. YMMV
  9. Meh. MM pets work fine as they are.
If you want evidence, ask the x5 spawns in the Council and Longbow bases from last night. You might need to wait for them to get out of hospital, though. Or, y'know, be able to commune with the dead
  10. Tell the tanker to stop whining and get on with what he should be able to do, regardless of KB.
If an easily distracted wrench-bot like myself can manage it, so can pretty much anyone. Also, if stuff is getting KB'd, it means that its a few minions less to worry about for a moment, while they decide which way is up and down again.

KB is just another form of mez, one that should be welcome.

I think you've got some good points in there. It's probably why certain nightmares are freakier than others. The ones where you reckognise things, places, people, but they aren't quite right. It's a bit like someone or something invading your head. Actually, thats probably a good reaction to base most peoples encounters with psychics on, in game. It'd be pretty damn unsetlling, really.

And no, theres nothing wrong with freaking out over gorgeous animation I too was nerding out over that, given Im doing an Animation Degree atm. (I say doing one...more like flunking and spending too much time on PC and Xbox games >_> I have a weak will, ok?)
And hinting at sexy is always better than simply out and out showing it. The mind is an incredibly flexible thing.
  12. Incase the OP needs glasses, there IS content, as in Dev Created mission, in I17

2 new gizmondo's Hero side and the same number Villain side. Really, read the announcements again.

And yes, polished Positron TF, which makes it new to me, because the current incarnation is an abomination.

    Ah, here we go;

    Quote:
New Story Arcs: Issue 17: Dark Mirror features two new Hero and two new Villain story arcs for levels 20-30. Each of these story arcs has four missions, and the story arcs highlight the Dark Mirror's sinister new enemy. Acquire first Hero story arc in Talos Island, and the first Villain arc in Sharkhead Isle.
Silver Mantis Strike Force Update: The Silver Mantis Strike Force will now be available to all Villains, not just supergroups. You now can access the Silver Mantis Strike Force via Silver Mantis, located in Sharkhead Isle. You can also run this Task Force from your supergroup computer.
Positron Task Force Update: This Task Force has been split into two halves and dramatically upgraded and updated to ramp up the fun. The final battle of the Task Force takes place in the Faultline Dam and incorporates the new Dark Mirror enemy.

  14. Duly noted, I'll keep that in mind.
Is it worth taking Tough/Weave, given I plan to stick to Fire/Fire/Fire? (I want RotP )
  15. Hmm, so is Hot Feet worth it? I hear mixed views on it, that and Blazing Aura, although Im less likely to get the aura.

Meh, I can draw bodies and anthro faces pretty well. Its human faces that are now giving me problems, because I stopped practicing them to try and get good at the other faces.
I was never that good at human face anyway. I tend to err on the side of realism, and I find myself not so much slipping as running, jumping and diving into the uncanny valley

Thats poor design. Not the fault of the genre.
Thats like saying you dislike [Insert Popular character here], because one series/issue/etc was written by a bad writer =]

Incarneit/Magic seems IMO to make the most since. (to me)

But, frankly, i wouldn't be supprised if we never see that AT/Origin. Or even a new one really. I'm just optimistic.
No, no it's really not semantics. Thats like calling 'Human' an Origin.
'Natural' covers anything that is baseline, whatever species or race it may be. ALL Kheldians are energy beings, ergo the powers they have access to are not 'super-natural' to their race. Thus they are natural origin.

    Heh, if we could do that, my main team of Heroes would be seriously powerful;
(*'s are sets they have atm. Vix is actually two characters, one def, on blaster)

    Chief Centurion Z1; Axe/Electrical Melee*/Assault Rifle/Shield/Invulnerability*

    Kitsune Vixen; Psychic Blast*/Mental Manipulation*/Martial arts/Super Reflexes/Empathy*

    X21 Ice Wolf; Assault Rifle*/Ice Blast/Ice Manipulation*/Invulnerability

    Z22 Pyre Fox; Fire Blast*/Fire Manipulation/Devices*/Invulnerability

Yeah, I do wish. But I know how unbelievably broken that would be.
If I could just give them an equivelant to power armour without being forced into the fighting pool, maybe...
  22. It's true, taking it too far slips into something called the 'Uncanny Valley', to get all film/animation technical on ya'll.

It's the reason we tend to see humanoid robots and things like zombies as freaky.
I even have a graph! *gasp*

Basically, certain styles of anthro can sit etiehr before or after the valley. They tend to have enough human traits and aspects that make people able to sympathise with them. The ones that people tend to find repulsive are, usually, the ones that have slipped into the valley. Either that, or the viewew is simply that intolerant that they label anything anthro/furry as evil and wish to burn it.

The first three pictures Lycanus linked are basically humans with animal parts stuck on. The shape is the same, its recognisable, and thus within peoples comfort zones.

Out of the second trio, the first and third I didnt like. For me, they've gone into valley territory. The second is less of a hybrid and doesnt suffer from that, because its not yet gone into the valley. If the face was a mix of human and animal (Like the third picture) it would probably come across as more unsettling.

See, there's even Science behind all this stuff!

And if you want to go on the subject of WB and anthro. Actualy if you are going to compare a female version of bugs that was made for sex appeal. You have to look at Babs. Flatout she was made to "spring" all the anthro lovers in the movie "Space Jam"

I see your anthros and raise you one I like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_rmbN6-T-UE
and you know what all the bleepin furry hate made this video get a adult tag. I call Foul. What about this dang video screams only adults more then the orginal video for stacy's mom?
Can I beat the crap out of the people that flagged the video?
T'be honest, NONE of the marvel characters are really 'anthro'. Something anthrow/furry w/e would be Bugs and crew, the characters in animated disney, etc. The one in the pic looks more like a woman with talons and a tail stuck on, lets be honest.

Omni, that vid was great. Slick little bit of animation, which I appreciate all the more for being an animation student
And yeah, kindly thump whoever got that tagged. I get that some of it is a bit suggestive...like, 2 on scale of 1 - 10.
